Uttoxeter 3:35 : Alfie Spinner @ 16/1 bet365 e/w thanks

Alfie Spinner....from Kerry Lee yard the 12yo the old yin gets his turn now and then as he's been a winner of two hurdle races and three chases from 2m 1f to 3m 3f on soft and heavy ground. He moved to this yard in March last year from Nick Williams and won on his first run for new yard at the end of March at Ffos Las 3m heavy hcp chase before being put away for the Summer,

Kerry brought him back out in January this year at Wincanton 3m2.5f soft hcp chase and another win but he ran 38 days ago at Carlisle 3m2.5f soft hcp chase looking for his 3rd win in a row for new yard but was beaten 10 lengths and a 4th place finish ,

Jockey Jamie Moore has been in saddle all three runs for Kerry and keeps the ride today,

240 Kempton. Divine Spear 0.5ew 9/1 betvictor.

Ran well in 2nd last time out under an inexperienced ride from apprentice jockey. The winner that day was raised 8lbs yet still ran well to finish 4th in the County Hurdle yesterday. Divine Spear is up 7lbs since that run but has the assistance of a pro jockey today which will help negate that.

2.40 Kempton: Silver Plate Handicap Hurdle

An ultra competitive race with nearly half of the 2o runners in with a fair shout. However I do like quite a lot Dan Skelton's Bandsman off a lowly mark on his handicap debut.

The six year old took his time to get off the mark, but was massively impressive once he did it. He followed up with another success at Market Rasen, when he fought gamely to be on top when it mattered most.

This form looks strong through the runner-up who since then went on to win a Grade 3 Handicap Hurdle. An opening mark of 129 may well underestimate Bandsman's true class, particularly with ground sure to suit and potential improvement to come for the step up in trip.

He's not a slick jumper yet, so has certainly to do be better in that department against classier opposition here. But if he learned and if he stays the trip then he's a good chance to be in the shake-up I feel.

Selection:

Ordo Ab Chao @ 6/1 Bet365

Was really well thought and entered in Albert Bartlett and Neptune prior to injury, off the track for 2 years but an encouraging reappearance before getting hampered on home turn. If retaining ability more than capable of winning off 134, gets the Soft ground he needs.
