@Bobby Vegas, that Leyton Orient punt was brave but unfortunately it didn't come off for you. What are you looking at this time around?

@sajtion, great spot with the Preston hold over Brighton. North End got a solid 2-0 win again! Got any head-to-head stats that might peak our interest this week? Also, interested to hear any accumulator bets you put down. My recommendation is to avoid Palace like the plague! No offence, @Mindfulness!

@Tiffy, you fell for that Brighton result. Not many saw it coming, to be fair! A few of your other results were off but in your defence you did have fair reasoning behind your bets and I didn't think they would be far off. What are you picking out this week?

@allyhibs, Scottish FA Cup action this week. Your lads away to 17.00 priced Ballyrig Rose... any chance of an upset? Hahaha. I think my Sunday League side would have better odds than that!

@skyblues88, you also fell for the League One promotion chasers falling short. What can your League One inside information tell us this week?

@mrclubbie, another member of the "Screwed by Brighton" club. Backing them this week or not taking the risk?

@johnabpd, I just want to personally congratulate you on that Cardiff shout! I never saw that coming, especially 2-1 down with just 5 minutes left!

@MuineBheag, you were a brave man to back Norwich but it was a fair shout against a terrible Rotherham. Amazed that Neil still hasn't been sacked yet. Last two results before this been decent so maybe he's surviving off those. What do you think this week? Be good to have you sticking around to post some more.

@Kenton Schweppes, disappointing result for your lads last weekend and slightly unexpected based on what you said. Still, a derby game, anything can happen. Reckon you'll bounce back this week?

Also, keen to hear the thoughts of regular contributors @Punki85, @salmonman, @mrbluejay, @Neubs, @matrixman, @mikemanager, @dave5perth, and @Simeon Borisof.

Ratings will go up when they update over the next day or so. A loitering postponed fixture just needs to be sorted.

Well i can only thank to Oliveria dumbness and my greedeness...as originally i was only going to do single big bet on Scunthorpe last weekend ,but eventually i did add Norwich grrrrrr not to mention i was kicking myself for the rest of the evening after Rotherham scored 2nd one...ah well lesson learned...haha well ,thats what im telling myself anyway.

No idea yet for this weekend fixtures, looking very tought to me,might have better idea come Saturday.

this week does look tough to chose but i want that damn 10 grand. i know it's easier said than done but this weekend i think i'll give wigan the benefit of doubt.they are down in relegation zone they are decent side and should be around 15th place. their last two were to nil wins and they have momentum to edge this one at home and also because they drew brentford once this season back in october. the others i am considering are

cardiff, derby, coventry, swindon, walsall, exeter, cambridge, barnet

i don't know if i will stick with them but will see on friday...

I added some figures up at work last Friday. They came to 666. Last Friday was the 13th.
The sign of the devil on Fri 13th!
Not that I am superstitious or anything, but it did cross mind that perhaps it wasn't the best day to post my selections.
Everything lost! Not sure about this weekend, will take a look later.

I think that is the first time that superstition has come into play on these forums... and been proved right! Let's hope you don't start wearing the same socks or saying a certain phrase five times every time you bet!

When I watch Brighton, I always have to have the same pie. Chicken & Ham. Anything else and they lose! I call it "Pie-ology" the science of superstition. And, yes, I will be having my usual pie tonight, which can only mean one thing, an Albion win!,

BRIGHTON V SHEFF WEDS

Brighton need to get back to winning ways again tonight, and should have the suspended Dunk back in defence.

They will also want to seek some revenge over their opposition from the play offs last season

i can't see them losing here, and think that an Unders game is on the cards

Cardiff 1.91 - Cardiff (18th) 5 points ahead of burton (21st) with a game in hand, cardiff in decent form since Warnock was appointed, 6W, 4D, 4L. Burton very poor away from home 1W, 5D, 7L, also in very poor form.

Reading 4.45 - Reading (4th) are 6 points ahead of Derby (7th) with a game in hand, Reading in very good form, 9W,3L in there last 12 games, decent on the road, 6W,1,5L. Derby have also been in very good form however have lost there last 2 and have important players out for this one, Bradley Johnson one of there best players is suspended and Jacob butterfield also an important player with 23 appearances is suspended, both centre midfielders so will effect Derbys game. I think Reading will edge this one and the odds are too good to miss.

Rochdale 2.20 - Rochdale (5th) are 11 points ahead of Oxford (13th) and are in very good form 8W, 3L in there last 11 games and are very strong at home 10W, 1D, 2L. Oxford are in decent form, 4W, 3D, 3L in there last 10 games, however pretty poor away from home 3W, 3D, 7L.

Barnet 2.12 - Barnet (9th) are 21 points ahead of Newport (24th) and are in good form 8W, 3D, 3L in there last 14, home record isnt the best however, 4W, 5D, 4L. Newport are 0W, 1D, 8L in there last 9 games, away record is 3W, 1D, 8L. Like the odds on Barnet.

Crawley 5.8 - Think the odds on Crawley are too long here so will take a punt. Crawley (13th) are 10 points behind Portsmouth (4th) with a game in hand, they are 5W, 3L in there last 8 games and have a good home record for there position, 7W, 3D, 2L. Portsmouth are 4W, 2D, 2L in there last 8, away record is 6W, 4D, 4L.

@StevieDay1983

I give up after last week!

I'll be sticking with a couple of big guns in NEWCASTLE and SHEFFIELD UTD. They are both at home to poor teams and should both hopefully win comfortably.

I also fancy DERBY this weekend. A very good home side against a Reading side who they are chasing and who were very poor in their last game.

Good to see we're thinking along the same lines on Cardiff and Crawley! (though differently on Reading...)

Also think Barnet are a good shout.

Brighton showed great character against a decent Sheff Weds side last night. I was right in saying that they needed to get back to winning ways. SW didn't really muster much in front of goal, despite playing well. It should have been an unders game too, if it wasn't for Dunkys prolific goal scoring form!

I would like to have a look at Brightons corner stats, because they don't seem to have that many. The away team always seem to have more, I think it could be a market worth looking at.

Anyway, looking forward to previewing Tuesdays rearranged game @StevieDay1983, any thoughts?

Mainly going on the. ratings table above, & using a bit more caution than last weekend, my selections today are

WEST BROM

HUDDERSFIELD

BARNET

DONCASTER RVRS

PRESTON DC

BLACKBURN DNB

BRISTOL CITY DNB

LEEDS DNB

FULHAM DNB

BRENTFORD DNB

BORO V WET SPAM - U2.5 & BTTS NO

i have thrown them all in a trebles Acca

Good luck all, lets hope it's a better weekend than the last!

Yes, @Tiffy, I am worried! There's something not quite sitting right about Warnock. I think he's a great manager and no issue with him on that front but I get the impression he was promised a lot of things and Tan now isn't delivering. He is repeatedly saying "if we're not challenging for promotion next season then I'll find a club that is". It sounds like he's pressuring Tan to give him more financial backing. Personally, I'm not really sure why Tan is still involved. He's not appeared at a game since we went back to blue. Ken Choo and Mehmet Dalman are basically running things. He's not interested in investing any more than the bare minimum. He is also more focused on his US football interests. The sooner he sells up, the better.

Until we sign new players, we will continue to pick up results here and there to stay lower mid-table but we won't tear up any trees. I can see us possibly getting 2 or 3 against Burton today. I'd be surprised if we don't get the three points. However, Tuesday will be a different matter. It's a long trip in midweek and we rarely take something from Brighton. That's even without their current form. I'd take a draw but can see us losing by a goal or two at least.

With the heavy heart im backing .... Norwich again.I know what they did last weekend and i also know that Wolves are on fire lately.Todays game will be different tho,as Canaries are very determined to deliver 3 points and after the Owls dropped points last night there is still a good chance for squeizzing into the top6.Oliveria wont play(which is a big plus),Jerome will ,so no loss there.

Will be sticking Stoubridge in the double with Norwich.Pays nearly 3/1 and im happy with that.

Goodluck!

There's been a little bit of chat about us maybe resting a few players and playing a few guys who are usually on the fringes of the team but it now looks clear that we'll be fielding our strongest team, which is the correct thing to do given we are the holders of the competition ( i will never tire of saying that :) ) and we have to be careful we don't underestimate Bonnyrigg, who knocked out Championship side Dumbarton in the last round.

It's that old cliche but if we score early we'll hammer them and you have to think we'll score at least 3. We also have one of the best defences in the country and i really can't see us conceding. As a rule, i don't usually bet on cup games but i think this is printing money. My bet is Hibs win to nil @ 8/15.

Accumulators are;

Man Utd, Huddersfield, Sheff Utd, Doncaster.

Everton, Leeds, Scunthorpe, Cambridge.

Thanks for your thoughts @StevieDay1983. Interesting to get a closer view on things.

Foreign chairmen seem  to quickly lose interest. They are ruining clubs in the Championship, Forest, Birmingham, Villa, Cardiff etc. We are lucky at Brighton, as Tony Bloom is a Brighton lad & a fan through and through.

I am a huge fan of the way German football conducts itself, where fans own the clubs & there is more of a sense of community. Things are done for the greater good of the people, rather than the Chaiman. But then that is the German way. They still make a peoples car (Volkswagen) whereas we only make cars for the elite (Bentley, RR, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Range Rover etc)

is it time for a revolutionary movement to get a similar thing going over here?

- Fans become majority shareholders.

- Fans elect a president/Chairman

- There is a hoard of directors, which includes representation from the fans, & they answer to to the supporters.

- Financial results are reported in an open, transparent manner every season.

Maybe I'll just move to Germany!

Power to the People

i have made up my mind and i am officially going for these

cambridge, swindon, scunthorpe, wigan, huddersfield, cardiff, west brom, rochdale, sheff utd, doncaster

£10 bet £10.000 return

fingers crossed

hmm sheff utd should have easily defeated 17th placed gillingham team especially home and swindon should have followed up an impressive win over bolton from last week and rochdale really let themselves down with that trashing and i expected cambridge to come out on top against mansfield. it's the first time they conceded three goals since august. after todays results i gotta admit there were better options but only in the hindsight

poor choice of selections and you were lucky to even get fleetwood right. coventry were difficult to beat as you would expect from struggling side trying to stop winless streak and carlisle have not been their high scoring selves in last few weeks. i would never back plymouth on away trip after exhausting midweek cup match against liverpool. overall i think you made it hard for yourself do make any profit

We were terrible and Fleetwood were not much better. Match had 0-0 written all over it till the free header in injury time.

Anyone backing our games should stick with unders, especially at home. Played with 5 defenders and just played long ball after long ball. We've got no goals in us.

AAAAArrrggghhhhh.

A penalty for Bonnyriggs goal which was a blatant dive, F##k right off.

Poor from me though, i should have picked out a winning bet from this game, must try harder. I'm gonna blame it on I'm still travelling round SE Asia so not as focused as usual. LOL.
