Cheltenham 3.50 Fayette County @ 8/1 bet365 e/w thanks

Fayette County.....from Tim Vaughan yard the 9yo is owned by J P McManus and is worth taking a gamble on his owned horses , He has won two hurdle races, a NH flat race and a chase from 2m to 2m 7f on ground varying from good to heavy but that chase win took 10 races to find although did find two 2nd place finishes ,

That Chase win came 23 days ago at Worcester over 2m 7f good but had to fight to get the win he was in behind and made his move and led over last only to be headed in run in but fought back to get his head in front at line ,

He's up 5lb for win after receiving a 2lb rise before last race after finishing 2nd at Uttoxeter 2m 4f good hopefully he's still ahead of handicapper and has good Amateur jockey Mr J J Codd in saddle

1.55 Lingfield

Surprised to see Haaf A Sixpence such a big price. He has a clear favourites chance based on his latest run at Chelmsford over 7f 2nd behind an inform sort. That was his 2nd run after a year off the track so is sure to build on that further. Has won off higher marks in the past in an on off career clearly not easy to keep sound. 1lb ahead of the handicapper currently and could get an easy time up front in this field.

1pt win Haaf A Sixpence 7/2 SJ

Newc 12.30 - The Phantom - ew at 66/1 bog PP

Novice hurdle over 2 miles

Looking for a big priced EW shot who might outrun his odds

My selection finished 2nd in a bumper on his racecourse debut a year ago - the 3rd, 4th and 5th have won races since so that form looks OK

On his recent return from a year off he was all over the place over hurdles running keen, getting behind, sprinting into the lead, leading for a while, getting swamped near the finish, easing up and coming home in his own time

Looks like there's something there to work with if he can be settled.......maybe that first run back has taken the fizziness out of him and the fitting of a hood might help

Male jockey replaces the 'girl' who rode him last time
