Monthly Nap Competition - Monday August 8th

Recommended Posts

5.30 Ffos Las

Arzaak 8/13 Betfair

Very average stuff on Monday and the most solid bet appears to be the Owen Burrows trained 2yo Arzaak who ran well on his debut back in May at Leicester. He was a decent 4th to Thunder Snow and started an unfancied 20/1 shot that day. Given time to mature and interestingly comes here for a very low key affair and should prove too good for this company.

Ayr 3.00 Jay Kay (4/1 skybet)

This fellow has won 6 times on turf from 27 attempts, a strike rate of 22%. However here at Ayr he is a completely different anaimal with 4 of those 6 wins being gained here from just 7 attempts, a strike rate of 57%. In fact his 7 runs here have resulted in 4 wins and 3 seconds, giving him a 100% win and place strike rate at course.

3.45 Wolv - Saga Spirit - win at 10/1 bog bet365

12f handicap

the 3yo appear to have quite a big advantage with the WFA scale as they start t take on their elders over staying trips

So I'm looking past the 4yo favourite and concentrating on the 3yo

I quite like the look of the outsider running off a mark of 73. She won a claimer over in Ireland then was well outclassed at Royal Ascot......changed stables and ran OK in classified race at Nottingham against horses all rated about the same

That run was on soft ground and today's surface might suit better as will stepping up in trip

The other 3yo both come from Simcocks yard and both are maidens who look a bit one paced

4.45 Wolverhampton: Coronation Day @ 3/1 Unibet

Fine winner of a Catterick maiden, disappointed subsequently on handicap debut but this is easier here in a lesser grade off a revised mark on her All-Weather debut which should suit perfectly.
