Berengaria Evens Skybet

Poor turnout for this 2yo maiden and the two to concentrate on are Berengaria and Zainhom.

The latter is a debutant for the powerful Stoute yard and it wouldn't surprise me to see this one come on for the run as they are not well known for first time out winners. This leaves Berengaria as the most likely winner after a terrific debut at Goodwood when she was 4th to Rhododendron after leading for most of the race. That sort of speed will see her home in this company.

2:50 Chelmsford City: Jaarih @ 16/1 Betfair sportsbook  e/w thanks

Jaarih.....from Conor Dore yard who saddle 3 in this race others being Desert Strike and Long Awaited I suppose waiting till you see the betting goes if the yard have a gamble here ,

Jaarih is a 4yo who just came to yard this January and won his first race for yard at end of January at Southwell 5f AW but had to run another 11 races before winning again so 25 days ago at Thirsk 5f good ,

The yard have been trying all surfaces especially on different AW tracks although they've not been to Newcastle yet , He's ran here before and finished 4th beaten by 2 lengths over this distance with Paul Mulrennan in saddle off 74 ,

He runs off 72 today the mark he won at last race with Paul Mulrennan in saddle and keeps the ride today

Leic 3.00 - Popeswood - win at 11/2 bog bet365

7f seller

the top 3 in the market should have this to themselves

Popeswood is the highest rated and has the best form in the last year or two but he's better on soft ground. His best fast ground form would still give him a good chance though and of his 2 rivals Smart Mover is also perhaps better on soft ground. Boutan has been in good form front running in sellers against mainly lowly rated ones.

Just give Popeswood a chance to put his best foot forward

4.05 Curragh: Air Force Blue @ 11/8 Sky

Massive drop in class, ground sure to suit and looked much better than bare result suggested in the July Cup. Stands hands and shoulders above the rest of this field in terms of ability and if there is not an underlying issue with his breathing (I suspect it might well be, but we ultimataly find out today) then he winds this by a street,

2.40 Windsor - Go On Mayson e/w @ 18/1 Bet365

Star Archer will be tough to beat here but he shapes a nice e/w market and I thought Go On Mayson looked potentially useful on his debut for Evans who does well with his 2 year olds. He was given a nice educational ride keeping on at the finish and should step up a good deal on that. The second favourite Salouen looks a bit exposed so 9/2 on the place part of the bet looks a bit of value in particular.
