Premier League week 36 - 30th April through 2nd May

Recommended Posts

I like the look of Southampton on Sunday to beat what may well be a very much weakened Man City side.  Manuel Pellegrini will undoubtedly rest many of his first choice players, with one eye firmly on a big game 72 hours later.  The crucial second leg Champions League semi v Real Madrid is so delicately poised and I believe Pellegrini will prioritize that game over the Southampton game.

2.70 for a win for an in-form Saints team looks a big price in my opinion.

Swansea vs Liverpool: Swans looking to end relegation worries with win against the Reds

Francesco Guidolin and his Swansea side will look to eradicate any faint fears his team might have of a relegation threat this season by securing a win against Europa League Semi Finalists Liverpool this Sunday afternoon in a midday kick-off at the Liberty Stadium. Jurgen Klopp's side will be keen to keep winning in the league to qualify for European competition next season via the league in case their Europa League pursuit does not end in glory.

Manchester United vs Leicester: The Foxes stand on the brink of Premier League history

The impossible dream could become reality this Sunday in a 2:05pm kick off at Old Trafford when Leicester could secure a maiden Premier League title against Manchester United having been priced at 5,000/1 with bookies at the start of the season to manage the feat. However, the Foxes will have to pull the result off without their top scorer Jamie Vardy who is still serving a suspension for being sent off against West Ham a couple of weeks ago.

Southampton vs Manchester City: Can City beat in-form Saints to all but seal Champions League football?

There is an intriguing fixture at 4:30pm on Sunday afternoon when Southampton play Manchester City at the St Mary's Stadium. The Saints have only lost 1 of their last 7 league matches. City are Champions League Semi Finalists and have won 4 of their last 5 games in the league. Both teams are still chasing European qualification with Ronald Koeman's side after the Europa League spots and Manuel Pellegrini's team looking to lock down the Champions League berth so it is all to play for.
