How do you 'read the pitch' then? If you can see there isn't going to be a massive score, is there any chance you can give some tips on that in future? My first bet today WAS on England making a large score, so it would have been good to know that you could see otherwise.

well for one in this situation all the wickets were bowled or bowled and caught, not catches from big 6 attempts or 4's. You could see it was hard to get the ball away and if we could only manage such a low score than Afghanistan were certainly going to struggle.

I believe this is the first time this pitch has been used this tournament so hard for me to know beforehand but I'll mention anything I can in the future.

Potus I would recommend you to watch pre match show where the match and the conditions are previewed by experts.... But keep in mind that these experts should be experienced or retired cricketers and not any news reporters..... If you spend that hour before the match and know enough about how the two teams are performing it's enough to analyse a game and place a sound bet.....

Fader unlucky for us today with player performances.... U took Shahzaad and I was rooting for Root to go 34+.... That run out was just utter rubbish there was no need to run..... And then gets two catches to make 32 amd miss out by 2.... Haha that was hilarious...... Now on to India v Bangladesh.....

Potus this is a tip for you.... I am thinking Virat Kohli 33 and over if India bats first.... Why you may ask.... The match is at Bangalore and its difficult again to chase big totals but batting first is decent..... But more importantly Virat plays IPL for Bangalore and hence this is like his second home so the conditions are well known to him.... Add to it the kind of form he is in.... And Bangladesh's bowling which  is not so good Kohli looks good to cover that performance total..... Gud luck mate

Potus forget that can't chase crap I said in above comment..... Bangladesh just won the toss and chose to bowl first and the pitch report says that batting second would be great..... But later in the night, "the ball may turn" according to MS Dhoni (trust me he is really cunning when it comes to reading pitches and conditions).... So the chase might get interesting....... Anyway the gud news is India is batting first so the bet is on..... Wish yoj gud luck again :)

pretty crap day for me. Took England at 11/10 after the first innings but apart from that all losers. Annoying!

Great games though and hopefully we'll see England and India both in the Semi-Finals.

Quite ironic really I forgot about the India game or Id of taken Dhoni on the performance. Typical!

What a match today between India and Bangladesh..... Everything was crazy out there today.... That pitch was not the pitch of Bangalore and that Indian team was certainly not the one that won Asia Cup and that certainly felt someone else batting in Virat's skin..... Everything was going down until the last 3 balls.... Hopefully we will come out stronger against Australia and the team needs to make some big improvements.... We are not winning any playoff matches playing like this...... Well I will worry about that later and right now just thank my luck for getting Kohli bet through...... Gud luck everyone see you guys tomorrow....

No cricket today. What a bore. Gives me a chance to preview both matches tomorrow though. I wont be touch the outright bets on either but I don't think Australia will have it all there own way tomorrow. The fact they must win though puts me off any dabble. These are the ones I like :

2.5pts Khawaja top Austalian Batsman 12/5 Paddypower
6pts Australia (Most Sixes) 4/6 Bet365
3pts S.Afridi 31 & Over player performance 5/6 Bet365

Khawaja has really impressed me so far. In fact he is the only player in the Australia line-up that has impressed me. I never liked Australia's chances pre-tournament and I still don't. I just don't think they play spin well enough. They may make the Semi-Finals but the way they are playing they are not going to win this tournament. I do think they will get the most sixes here though. Pakistan have managed only a few sixes apart from the match against Bangladesh with weak bowling where as Aus have managed 4 and 6 in there previous two and need the win here. Afridi should again be Pakistan's main man both in the crease and in the bowling attack.

Sorry to have to bore you all with another sob story but I'm trying to learn from people who know better than me and improve my cricket betting. I'm losing so much of my money on this sport and it's really getting to me as I'm only betting on what I think are great bets but they keep going wrong.

This morning, Sri Lanka women have just lost their third wicket and are 89/3 after 13 overs. Bet365 set their total runs at over/under 126.5. I think that is a complete gift, a side that have scored 89 in 78 balls to score 38 in the final 42, with seven wickets in hand? Surely that line is far too low?

Anyway, I lump on and they finish on 123. Thoughts? Not wise-after-the-event thoughts, but how you would have analysed that bet at the time? Thanks.

Potus, final overs of a Twenty20 and the womens event (with some massive variances of talent) ... you're trying to bet on sure things yet you're betting on that? you couldn't get more random if you lumped on tails on a coin toss. Just seems to me you're looking at the first thing you see and lumping on it before the market changes.

Why are you not following the tips here that have been in profit over the past week? I appreciate you're trying to improve, but if you want to improve you have to put the time in to study. Did you know the pitch conditions? who was left to bat? there form? the bowlers left? the bowlers overs used? the importance of a win for sri lanka? the important of the other team? there is so much information to make your bet more likely to win.

Obviously I put in some analysis and research before I placed the bet. If I was just betting for the sake of it, I would bet on a coin toss as you said. I had a look at the in-running bets and that seemed around 20 runs short of where I thought it should be. They were scoring nearly 7 an over, finding plenty of boundaries. Fair enough they had just lost a wicket but they had another player out there who was on a decent score, even if she went I would still fancy 5 runs an over with all those wickets in hand a very easy ask.

Yesterday you told me to read the pitch. Well, I read the number of boundaries being scored here and 89 after 13 overs to be a very decent score in the circumstances. I don't see what analysis I missed that would explain there not being 38 more runs scored in the final 7 overs?

I must admit I know nothing about womens cricket so I won't pretend I do!

Are you sure this wasn't just an attempt at a "quick buck" lol ... why are you not following the tips then? Have you looked at player performance bets?

Potus this was certainly a trap by the bookmakers as they certainly knew something you and many others didn't.... I didn't see the match but from 89/3 off 14 overs, even in a women's match, the total shoild be atleast somewhere around 135+ under normal circumstances..... So nothing wrong with whatever you thought there.....

But I would like to tell you one thing here.... If the bet looks too easy and the odds are sparkling, something is fishy.... Trust me I've learned this the hard way.... I've done the same thing as you did today which is not a mistake but us just placing the wrong bet at the wrong time..... It's alright I would recommend you to move on and prepare for tomorrow's two cracker of a games..... And yes you are heading in the right direction.... Keep yourself well acquainted with all the information you can gather.....

Also download CricBuzz app from any app store it's the best app for cricket news and scores.... If I don't have the time to look much into the games I usually use that app which gives a brief description of how the conditions are and some other points....

Gud luck for tomorrow.....

When these two teams were drawn in the same group, everyone assumed that one would be dangerous yet inconsistent, and one would put lesser teams to bed pretty easily. They were right, but I don’t think many people considered South Africa being the team on the back foot.

Faf du Plessis’ men have flattered to deceive so far, with their bowling exposed as a worryingly weak point. And that will only continue until Dale Steyn makes his way back to match-fitness and top form. In Kyle Abbott and David Wiese, they have two seamers who are eminently hittable by the modern player. Wiese in particular relies so much on slower balls and variation, he is easily shaken under pressure. And that’s what the likes of Chris Gayle will put him under.

The big man is back at the top of the order, and he will relish taking on the seamers here. Rabada is rapido and could cause a problem for anyone, and Chris Morris has brilliance in him, but much of South Africa’s bowling performance is reliant on Imran Tahir. The leg spinner rarely under-performs in this format and is far and away the Proteas best bowler.

South Africa undoubtedly have enough batting quality to be a threat to anyone, but the team’s confidence has been shaken by the England debacle, where they couldn’t defend 229, and an early onslaught by Afghanistan’s Mohammad Shahzad. In the latter case, you could see the cat put among the pigeons, with summit after summit by the ‘leadership group’.

One thing that the West Indies have is a very clear state of mind. They love this format, play with a smile, and love to entertain. They know what they’re about. And the balance and versatility they have in the side is the envy of everyone else. This is a special unit that has been brought together under the superb leadership of Darren Sammy. A player of average skill, albeit a big ball striker, Sammy has a uniting quality. He isn’t the intense character you find leading most sides, instead he provides the best possible atmosphere for his mates to succeed. I think they will book their place in the semi-finals here today.

The West Indies are available at 11/8 with BetVictor.

SA have never won anything. They manage to blow it up every time. We have never tasted victory in any World Cup competition. EVER !

Overrated airbags !

Today was an ideal time for ABD or Faf or Miller to do something. They all failed. At crunch time they always fold up.

They choose Rillee Rousow who has played all his cricket on a graveyard in Bloemfontein as a specialist 'batter'.

It's hilarious because he is useless. The shot he played to get out with, was just pathetic !

Being a South African, I was kind of expecting it.

We have lost 4 of our last 5 T20 games, just managing to get past Afganistan (at one stage we looked like losing that one as well).

We have fast bowlers in Steyn, Morkel and Rabada that have no idea of how to bowl a slower ball.

Surely it's a basic skill !!!

What do these guys practice in the nets all day ?

People are asking how you win T20 cricket match bets ?

The answer is actually simple. Bet on the teams with the best coaches, and the best tactics, that don't miss a trick.

In this sprint of a game, anyone can win, but the smarter teams do the winning.

4pts England to beat Sri Lanka

Eoin Morgan’s men, no thanks to Eoin Morgan, have managed to snatch victory from the jaws of almost certain defeat twice already. They looked dead and buried when chasing 229 against South Africa, a result that could be on Faf du Plessis’ mind for a while, and against Afghanistan where they slumped to 57/6.

Some stand out displays by Root, Roy and Ali have been contributing factors, but there are still plenty of players yet to fire. Ben Stokes is one player who England look to for power and he is a man searching for form. Over the last year he has produced some special knock, but he needs to be more than a one in ten man. Flintoff was, Botham was, and if he wants to be in that class, he needs to too.

Bowling has also been an odd discipline for England. Topley seems to have been exposed at the very highest level; an arena where he isn’t the only player with a decent slower ball. His lack of a threatening seam up delivery may be his undoing. Plunkett has come into the side and done what he always does. The Yorkshire man is quick, threatening, and expensive.

David Willey, however, possibly getting his place on the back of a hatrick against England for Mumbai in the warm-up, has looked good. For a bowler who hovers around the 80 mph mark, he bowls a heavy ball. More so than a Jordan or Stokes. And wherever there is any swing, WIlley will extract it. Cramping many big hitting right handers for space has already paid dividends and it will continue to do so.

The spin department also looks strong. Adil Rashid is one of the legions of leggies making a name at this competition, though in truth he started that at the Big Bash. Like Tahir for South Africa, he is a go to for an wicket or cheap spell.

Conversely, Sri Lanka are a side who haven’t played for a week since losing comfortably to the West Indies. They were much more convincing in their first game when they dispatched Afghanistan, but there are still plenty of question marks, like where the runs come from if Dilshan doesn’t get them.

Both these sides are capable of losing on their day, but I’ll take England to have more depth and better form, even if the price is a little short.
England are 1/2 with Skybet.

Well the game is cooked as Dilshan goes out. Sri Lanka can't lose Sangakarra, Jyawardena, Malinga and Dilshan and compete.

Good luck to England, they deserve to be there. They look like they are enjoying themselves and having fun, with great team spirit.

The future looks bright, and the question that springs to mind is "Kevin Who" ?

They have definitely come a long way since that opinionated, selfish popinjay got his marching orders.

English supporters should commend their selectors and tacticians, who have done an excellent job of

assembling a team that's full of potential.

The future also looks bleak for SA cricket.

With a weak (Quota dominated) domestic league the gap between domestic cricket and international  level is too great.

It's 23 years since apartheid was banished. Now we have reverse racism with a mandated quota system in domestic cricket..

The higher the domestic level the easier the transition to the highest level.  At international level, everyone is better at everything !

There is nobody (except Rabada) on the horizon. No up and comers at all.

Hopefully that Palooka of a coach Domingo gets canned after this dismal effort.

Cricket and Tennis gone to the dogs and completely stagnated in SA.

anyone fancy that Afghanistan wins today vs. West Indies?

The game is in Nagpur, so it will not be a run fest.

Essentially it will be won by the better bowling unit, as batting gets nullified there.

The WI would like to keep their momentum going. I think they look very good.

They beat SA, and Gayle made 4, so they have match winners.

Mentally, I think they are perfectly suited for the shortest form of the game.  Less rigid, with a relaxed attitude.

Afganistan no chance here.

4pts India to beat Australia at 4/5 with Boylesports

When the draw for this group was made, many though this would be a game that decided which team finished top, and which merely progressed in second. Fast forward a couple of weeks and this is a battle for survival. Winner goes through, loser goes out.

Aside from defeats to New Zealand, both teams have won all their games, but there is no doubt that Australia have been more convincing.

India edged past Pakistan, and pulled off a minor miracle to beat Bangladesh in the last over. They’ve hung on. That said, they have one home game to win in order to reach the last four. From their it’s anyone’s.

No side has ever won this competition without losing a game, so whoever progresses has reason for confidence. If that team is to be Australia, they will need to show they can cope better with the spinning ball.

The Aussies are a who’s who of exceptional hitters, but on this dryer, spin friendly deck, they have Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja who will be comfortable. The rest, not so much. They’ll wish Michael Clarke was still around. The problem they will have is losing wickets regularly to the likes of Ashwin, Pandya and Jadeja. If that happens, I can’t see them winning.
India’s record in Punjab is great and if they play to their potential, there’s no doubt they should do it.

I just can't see India winning this game. Their world cup should have been over. They played terrible against New Zealand and probably

even worse against Bangledesh. Just a miracle that they won that game. Something is not clicking.

The Aussie batting lineup is so powerful, and they just keep firing. As a Saffa I  love their confidence and ability to back themselves.

They seem to understand that winning and losing go hand in hand, and you can't do anything being scared or intimidated.

Back yourself and go for it !

I would like to see stats for which teams are the best between overs 7 and 14 (for run making).

It seems to be the area in which more games are being won and lost.

Australia for me in this game at odds of 1.1 while the highest 1st 6 overs Australia is also priced at 1.1

South Africa v Sri Lanka

They should just call it off due to lack of interest.

Who will win ?

Who cares !

Hashim Amla's quote is great....

"We've got a lot to play for. You never want to leave the World Cup on a bad note. We are hoping we put things back together and come up with a good victory."

South Africa batsman Hashim Amla

As nice as Hashim is , he's gotta be kidding ...

A 'lot to play' for is hilarious.

They always leave the world cup on a bad note.

How can you have a 'good victory' when the game is pointless and nobody cares.

Having said that, you have to get some benefit out of what you are doing, otherwise give UP !

Only thing I would like to see in this game is some experimentation.

Change it up and bowl Phangiso in the 1st 6.

Move Miller down the order and give him a chance to craft an innings. I would like to see de Villiers in at 3 and Miller at 4.

Let Faf play a Dhoni type innings at the back. He has shown that he can't accelerate the run rate between the 7th and 14 over. WHy keep knocking on a door that never opens ? Let someone else try ?

Force your fast bowlers to bowl a slower ball at least once an over.

Stop fishing with the same old bait, you catch the same fish ! DO something different

As a South African I hope Sri Lanka give us a proper smack, which becomes a catalyst for change.

Realistically I can't see it happening, because without Mathews, who is going to do it for them ?

I've been thinking the same about Miller for a while. He often gets 8-10 balls at the end. They've got Morris and Wiese at 7/8 who can both play, so give Miller a shot.

Rossouw is dead weight in this format. I do think they've missed Duminy. He's so busy in the middle overs running his twos and getting the odd boundary... the perfect foil for a Miller.

I'm having a little look at Sri Lanka, regardless of no Mathews. Vandersay and Herath look dangerous, and if Dilshan fires, they could have just enough. They're 12/5 with Betfair.

New Zealand to beat England at 10/11

Eoin Morgan’s England have come on leaps and bounds since the first three innings of the competitions, but they need to find even more if they are to beat an adaptable and supremely pragmatic Kiwi side.

So far, just enough England batsmen have performed in each game, with Jos Buttler the latest to come to the party with a match-winning 60-odd against Sri Lanka in the deciding game of the Super 10s.

Conversely, it’s been a consistent team effort for Kane Williamson’s Black Caps. In fact, the star of the show for them has been team selection. As yet neither of their gun seamers have had real game time. They have used their spinners to great effect, while Mitch McClenaghan has been their pace threat when the decks allow it. The spin trio of Santner, Sodhi and McCullum are just so efficient, whether it turns or not.

Delhi has so far offered a slightly greener wicket than most venues, but that hasn’t meant seam movement or pace. There’s not been much turn either, but on pitched like this, faster spinners can skid on and make life difficult. Rashid could well bowl it too slow to get the best results.

The middle overs will be all important, and the New Zealand finger spinners may be key to squeezing England. New Zealand are available at 10/11 with Stan James.

4pts M.Guptil OR J.Root top batsman in match 9/4 Skybet
0.5pt England to win / Root top batsman for England / K.Williamson for NZ / Willey +1.5 wickets 33/1 Skybet
0.5pt England to win / Root top batsman for England / M.Guptil for NZ / Willey +1.5 wickets ?? Skybet

I would agree NZ are favourites but I wont be betting on the outright as I do think the conditions make it a coin-flip, Yes, NZ are unbeaten and looking very good but England have already played on this pitch twice and have beaten NZ in a warm-up Twenty20 also so I wont be lumping on nothing. I like a few on Skybet. First I'll take the double chance on Root and Guptil as both are in good form. I also like the big priced request a bet. I'll take this one as I think Willey should get a couple today but I also have requested the same with Guptil as top batsman. Obviously if that doesn't go on the site I will stick with the one. GL all.

Had a great T20WC this year with many a bets cashing out...... Made a lot of profit so now its time to take a little bit more risk..... I have just played these....

New Zealand to have highest opening partnership @ 1.90

Martin Guptill to beat Alex Hales @ 1.90

Both these bets because of a disastrous Hales form.......

Joe Root to be top Eng Batter @ 4.00 this is a big match for a big match player and he is the best player of spin in the English team

Santner to go 32+ in player performance @ 1.90..... I know I know the pitch won't spin a lot and all that but Santner has surprised us through the tournament and he has more than just spin in his artillery..... Fingers crossed on this one....

Fader I post these plays especially because I want to know your thoughts on my thoughts......

Thank you guys
