BigMozzyDog
If anything, the Proteas look stronger in this format than any other, with most of their best players struggling most in the longest format. Whether skipper Faf du Plessis can transfer his ODI improvements to this format remains to be seen, but they have players like David Wiese and Farhaan Behardien to bolster the middle order. In Rabada, they have one of the most threatening bowlers on the planet at the moment, and the sheer diversity of talent they possess makes them a big option for the T20 World Cup. England have won their warm-up against South Africa A, with Hales continuing his incredible run of half-centuries, and Eoin Morgan finally managed a few. Are they going to win here? We don’t think so. Man for man, England aren’t as experienced, adaptable and technically adept for the T20s. You can back South Africa at 4/5 with Coral. potus
After the England women posted 156, they were 1/7 to win the match. Why so short? South Africa came out and chased it down comfortably, just matching the modest run rate all the way. Why were England 1/7 when it looked like a very close match? BigMozzyDog
Having seen their six game T20 winning streak coming to end, England go into this game on the back of four consecutive international losses, three in the ODI format and one in the T20s. Skipper Eoin Morgan will be a worried man as the batsman have just not remained consistent, giving the bowlers too much to do. But for Alex Hales, England never looked to be confidently striking the ball, admittedly on a two paced track. Morgan himself must soome start scoring runs if he is to convince the doubters that he is worthy of a place. Ultimately England managed to get in front in the game due to the excellence of their bowlers, particularly Jordan, Stokes and Rashid. While they continue to undervalue David Willey, there need to be serious consideration given to the balance of the side. Ali at seven seems ridiculous, when Sam Billings is left out. The Proteas continue to look like a more confident side, the shorter the game, with the likes of Duminy, Tahir and Morris looking different players. The sheer volume of men who have played IPL cricket, under immense pressure, has shown so far. We think it will be a telling factor again here. You can back South Africa to win at 4/5 with Coral.
