Doncaster 3.15 : Double Ross @ 12/1 skybet e/w thanks

Double Ross.....from Nigel Twiston-Davies yard the 10yo start this season of with a 2nd place at Ascot 3m but his other two races have been poor only finishing 4th at Cheltenham 2m 4f and 5th at Aintree 2,5f ,

He's been a winner of two hurdle races and three chases from 2m 1f to 2m 5f on ground varying from good to soft but the longer distance seems the way for him to go as the 3m at Ascot he was running on after the last ,

Jockey Ryan Hatch has been in saddle last 6 times and is getting a 3lb allowance today

2.25 Cheltenham - Salubrious e/w @ 10/1 Bet365

Nicholls reported he didn't finish tired at all last weekend and was working really well in blinkers midweek so it's interesting they turn him out here in headgear just 7 days later. He loves the mud and stays further than this making conditions ideal. Champagne West looks short carrying top weight with Irish Cavalier who surely needs better ground.

3.35 Cheltenham: Thistlecrack 5/6 Bet365/Sky

Been very impressive this season and hard to oppose here, has questions to answer on the track but he's a much improved now and apart from the unexposed Camping Ground i cant see anything to worry him today. Tricky card here on the dead ground and is the safest bet of the day for me.

Chelt 12.40 - Who Dares Wins - win at 2/1 bog wm hill

Triumph Hurdle trial

This looks to be between two very promising juveniles who won easily last time and marked themselves out as the top British challengers for the Triumph

I'm going for Who Dares Wins on the basis that he won the better race, a grade 2, and it was on heavy ground so today's going after all the rain overnight should suit him.

There's still a feeling that the Nicholls yard are not quite firing on all cylinders
