2.00 Lingfield

Etaad has become a useful AW horses at this sortof level 2 wins and 4 placed starts from 10 starts on the AW. Won at Kempton over a mile on penultimate start bolting clear in eye catching fashion, backed that effort up last time out with a solid 3rd over an inadequate 6f finishing strongly, will appreciate this return to 7f and clearly still progressing could prove hard to beat.

1pt win Etaad 7/2 bet365

Asc 12.20 - American - win at 9/2 bog wm hill

novice hurdle

My selection ran 3rd in a novice hurdle at Aintree last month in conditions which might not have suited him.......he looks a real soft ground stayer

That race was run over 20F on good ground at a sharp track and he got outpaced by the front two

Should be a different proposition with that run under his belt and in a more demanding test

Newish trainer won this race last year and has booked Geraghty for a spare ride

20.15 Wolverhampton: Class 5 Handicap, 7f

Despite his age, nine year old veteran Clockmaker makes plenty of appeal in this race from his good draw. He is certainly down a good mark, given he's a couple of pounds below rated below his last (turf) winning mark and has won off his current rating on the All-Weather before.

His most recent performance here at Wolverhampton over the 7f trip in a better race was most eye-catching given that he ran off like a lunatic, leading the field by several lengths, even when approaching the home straight. It wasn't a surprise to see him tire soon after, yet he led the field into the final furlong and finished a good 4th in the end.

With a slightly better judged race he can go very close given the handicapper left his mark unchanged.

 3.15 Ascot

Ten runners line up for this handicap chase and the top weight Cold March will be a popular selection with many for trainer Venetia Williams. He won here over C/D at the end of October by an impressive 7 lengths. He’s gone up 10lbs for his trouble but is only a 5yo with plenty of scope for further improvement. Dresden also won well last time out, he won by 19 lengths at Aintree and now runs off his highest ever mark of 144. One horse that may outrun his odds is Turn Over Sivola, very consistent sort who will be all the better for his run behind Boondooma at Cheltenham.

Selection: Turn Over Sivola 11/1 Paddy Power

2.25 Haydock - Tea for Two @ 7/1 Willliam Hill

Was one of the most impressive winners of a big handicap last year and has now just 7lbs higher than that day. Trainer has won this twice from 3 runners in recent years and this has been the target for a long time now. His run the last day at Chepstow will put him spot on for this and the testing conditions are exactly what he wants..

W8.45 Roxy Madam 40/1 Betvictor

This horse is by Generous so racing at around a mile was never going to suit and the horse gets hiked up to 12 furlongs here which is what it's been crtying out for, Progeny of Generous are 4 from 73 (5%) over less than 10 furlongs but 15 from 76 (20%) over 12 furlongs to its well worth an attempt at this longer distance. The jockey has a decent record here too so maybe worth one more chance at these odds stepping up massively in distance.

745 Wolver: Field Of Dream 2/1 Boyles/888Sport

Useful handicapper at his best, been badly out of form and now drops to a claimer. Jamie Osborne would love to get another win out his old warrior and the conditions of this contest gives him a sound opportunity.
