BigMozzyDog
4pts Pakistan at 4/5 with Stan James Moeen Ali looks set to retain his place in the England side. That’s a worry for a start. Trevor Bayliss must owe him a tenner and not have the cash spare to pay him back… that’s the only explanation for his pivotal role in the side. He never get runs. He always bowls badly. Even when he gets wickets. At least the visitors have Eoin Morgan returning as skipper. His inventiveness and positivity are the only positives that can be taken from the squad that’s been selected. Inexplicably, Jos Buttler looks set to keep Sam Billings out of the starting 11, based on a record of no runs over a long period of time. If that’s the criteria, I’m waiting for my call up. Billings is a player of immense talent and it is time for him to have a decent run in the side. Despite our obvious pessimism for their chances, England face an uphill task in the UAE, where many of the Pakistan players feel very much at home. Yasir Shah and Asad Shafiq for example, two of the brightest prospects in Pakistan, have cut their teeth in the UAE, returning some impressive figures in the process. The only way England can win this game is if their impressive seamers make dramatic inroads into the Pakistan top order. Hafeez and Malik are in too good touch for that to happen. You can back Pakistan to win the first ODI at 5/4 with Stan James. That’s a very big price. potus
Really poor batting from England in the 2nd ODI. They did the hard part in terms of keeping wickets in hand all the way through, but they forgot the other part which is to accelerate your run rate. 216/1 with 68 balls to go, they only scored 67 runs in the last 68 balls, despite having 9 wickets to play with! Not good enough by a long stretch, not just a little bit short of where the total should have been but a long way short.
BigMozzyDog
4pts Pakistan to win at Evens with Betway Pakistan’s batting may have suffered a blow in the last game, it’s hard to see it happening again. There have ween some odd changes to the home team for the last match, with Babar Azam promoted from six to opener. It didn’t work and, no matter how good his knock was in the first game, he’s a middle-order batter. Ahmed Shehzad has been a surprising omission, especially given the Pakistan’s struggles at the top of the order. The right-hander has played 72 ODIs, although he has yet to ever face England. The 23-year-old has six hundreds to his name in that time, and bares more than a passing resemblance to Indian sensation Virat Kohli, both facially, and through his elegant stroke-play and passion for the game. In Hafeez they have a man in top knick. Sarfraz looks as busy as ever and Shoaib Malik is in the middle of his best international season. They will have too much for England at a big price. BigMozzyDog
2 pts Sarfraz to be top Pakistan batsman at 8/1 with Ladbrokes England have had trouble dealing with Hafeez and Malik all tour. But one player who has also been a thorn in their side is the keeper, Sarfraz Ahmed. Sarfraz has looked busy since the first test, showing his willingness to hit out and bat with the tail in equal measure. Now that he’s been promoted to four, he represents a big price.
