Monthly Naps Comp, ''THURSDAY'' 5th Nov 2015

Jockey Andrew Thornton is very much on his way to the 1000 winners mark and this selection might just see him go a little closer, its his sole ride of the day and what with the Mare having not been seen in well over 200 days it's a race that appeals to me.

Trained By Mr Seamus Mullins who can often tee one up for Thornton the 6yr old looks worth a small interest bet, she's yet to score from 5 attempts but after her long break could return with a lot more knowledge of what's expected of her today, tough opening race but worth a go at the showing price.

12:50 Towcester - Glenarm.  0.5 E/w Bet @ 14/1 some firms, Bet365 BetVic Lads.

6.15 Chelmsford

Bancnuanaheirean was a winner over CD last week, he carries a 6lb penalty for that in what looks a stronger race and also worth noting that he has never won off a mark this high and probably worth looking elsewhere

Stencive looks progressive and was last seen in some competitive handicaps in 2013 but not seen since and switched yards, obvious concern been off for so long and best watched unless market speaks strongly of him.

Merritt Island might be somewhat flattered by his latest frm number a really good second to a Fire Fighting in a conditions race over CD, well positioned when the race unfolded needs to back that up.

Croquembouche was 1/2length behind Banc last time out gets a nice turnaround in the weights and he is down to a winning mark 3lb ahead of the handicapper at present, lightly raced on the AW so could have more to offer.

Spanish Squeeze hasnt been seen since April which is the main concern after a solid 4th in a listed event, been gelded since but clearly still young and improving one to watch but looks to short in the current market.

The other that looks far too short in the market is Lovely Memory not entirely straightforward potentially, interesting stepping up in trip after a race last time out over a mile finishing well. Needs considering but not at the current market price.

The one for me is Solar Deity a real AW specialist not a winner for 16 runs but best race for some time behind Banc and Croque last time out, he got a harsh trip around on the outside, again not the best drawn but smaller field should give him more options, although not a winner off this mark has placed off much higher marks and is clearly competitive off these sort of marks if he gaps appear. There is no shortage of pace in this race and it could well fall into the lap of Solar Deity if it colapse with so many prominent racers the likes of Bint Dandy, Croque and Merrit Island.

1pt win Solar Deity 6/1 bet365
