It is fantastic to see the British Masters return this week after seven years in the wilderness and it should be hugely popular as the new sponsor is none other than SKY Sports. On top of that, the man that everybody loves to hate yet the man I love, Ian Poulter, is the tournament host this week and he will be very eager to impress on a course he loves.

The British Masters has been on the horizon since the free tickets were offered by Sky back in April. We will be on the course tomorrow (Thursday) and thoroughly looking forward to viewing most of the European Tours' talent close-up. The Marquess Course at Woburn is an attackable Par 72, which is too short by modern day standards. Tree-lined fairways will make for double bogeys aplenty, but ball-striking strategists will love the course, which should see plenty of birdies over the opening couple of days. The course will be receptive enough for shot-makers.

Four players have made the portfolio this week: Matt Fitzpatrick 35/1, Byeung-Hun An 35/1, Paul Dunne 80/1 and David Lipsky 150/1.

Ian Poulter first round leader 28/1 paddy power

Danny Willett first round leader 28/1 paddy power

Shane Lowry first round leader 25/1 paddy power

I think these three players are going to do well this week as the course really suits their games Poulter has said he likes this course and he always plays well at this time of the year Willett has had a great season and can play great again on course that is similar to Wentworth which he loves and Lowry played well last week and has good record at Wentworth which is similar to this course so hopefully he has good round
