Newcastle vs Arsenal - btts 1.8 @ 365 1% There has been 34 goals scored in the last 9 matches between these two. That includes that infamous 4-4 result that bumps the average a little bit. Arsenal are dominant in the h2h losing only 3 matches in the last 28. That includes 4 draws and 4 wins at St. James. Even the new Toons manager has a very bad record against Wenger. Arsenal have made the most attempts on goal this season in the league, a joint number with another team, and yet are paradoxically not scoring any goals. This is particularly glaring as Arsenal play a peculiar brand of football, they take an unbelievable percentages of their shots from inside the box. Teams that know how to pack the box usually do well against them. They haven't scored in 5 out of 9 going back to last season, and 2 out of 3 in this one. Some people blame their tall man Giroud for that and as luck would have it he would like this fixture, scoring 8 goals in the last 6 matches against Newcastle. The whole team in general creates chances and the goal scoring drought is bound to change sooner than later. It took years to accommodate both Ozil and Cazorla in the middle and now it is done with Ramsey becoming a winger, again. Same lineup is expected. From the last 3 matches it is obvious that Arsenal cannot play consistently for the whole 90 minutes. Both starting defenders are doubtful for this one with Koscielny more likely to be eventually included. Replacement duo Chambers-Gabriel is not on the same level, with the former providing a very poor performance in the last match, especially in the first half. Arsenal have a rather difficult September to look forward to with Chelsea, Stoke and Leicester in the league, Spurs in the cup and two CL matches. They need the points here to avoid another disastrous August. Same goes for Newcastle, winless in the last three and a loss here would ruin the memory and the momentum from their last match. They adjusted in that match aganst United after a very turbulent start, so it is not a given that they are suddenly very sound at the back. Their captain Coloccini was phenomenal on the day, but I doubt he can repeat that week in week out. Janmaat is back after a suspension at right back, replacing the inferior Mbemba. They can pose problems up front, they look good in that department. Perez shined in the last match, Wijnaldum is very good, Thauvin could have caused an upset at Trafford. The latter did score and assisted in mid-week in the cup. Both clubs overperformed defensively last weekend and wasted good opportunities. Line for overs opened at 1.8ish, went a bit up and is now holding steady at the sime price. I'd still rather take BTTS to cover a more likely 1-1 result rather than a full blowout. It is 1.8 @ 365, horrible odds ( 1.8 - 1.9 for yes - no). Despite that my guess is that those odds will end lower than 1.8. Boyle has 1.83 at the moment of writing if you like that bookie.

Too much value to pass in Leicester away at Bournemouth today. Leicester have scored 7 goals in the Premier so far and scored 4 past Bolton in the cup last week. They've beaten Sunderland and West Ham, granted these aren't the best teams. But they also drew away against Tottenham. Leicester are on their longest unbeaten run in the top flight (seven games) since the start of the 2000-01 season, when the club were competing in the Uefa Cup. Bournemouth having just moved up have done ok so far, they are unlucky not to have more points tbh. They now stand on 3 points. They have scored 6 goals so far in the league 4 of which coming in the last game v West Ham, thier first win, which may settle them down a little. Also scored 4 v Hartlepool n the cup this week. There are no real injury worries for either side. I think Leicesters quick attacking style will be too much for Bournemouth and we may see plenty of goals in this game. You can take a safer approach and bet Leicester DNB @ 13/8, Double chance @ 4/5 or even +0.25 at 17/20 Leicester @ 11/4

Swansea v Man U Great article def worth a read re United's style of play. Sterile possession ... http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/aug/27/louis-van-gaal-manchester-united-jonathan-wilson Look, van Gaal has done some excellent things at United. Shaw and Darmian look terrific. Two best left and right backs in the league. Work rate excellent, tactical awareness excellent. United are going to be fantastic defensively this season. It is going to screw up plenty of over 2.5 goal bets and BTTS bets. United have to shape up in attack. Herrera has to start, and Fellaini should be playing ahead of Januzai. Ungainly, awkward, but damn near impossible to beat in the air. Fellaini knocking the ball down to Rooney, Herrara and Mephis is gonna create plenty of goal scoring chances. Think Swansea have been overrated this season. They are fair team, but not spectacular. The result against Chelsea away needs to be put in context. Chelsea are poor at the moment. Very interesting that there are so few home wins in the EPL this season. Just 7 home wins in 38 games played or 18%. Fancy United to win this , with a clean sheet. They need the win here to keep pace with City. 1-0 correct score is 8-1 and the 2-0 correct score is 11-1 United to win it at 2.3 is also a very decent price.

Saints v Norwich. Southampton look to be in some bother. You just can't sell the core of the team and still expect to do well. Clyne and Lallanha to Liverpool, Shaw and Sneiderlan to Man United etc etc Saints had a stinker of a pre season. Lost 5-4 Liepzig, Lost 1-0 Valencia, Lost 2-0 to Saltzburg and have failed to score in 2 of 3 games this season. Norwich look good. their away form (ok, Championship), is excellent. They have won 8 of their last 10 away games, drawing 2. In 8 games they have scored 2 or more. This gives players a lot of confidence. Don't think Norwich will lose this game. Saints will need two to win it. I think the Norwich double chance at 1.8 is a solid bet and the away win at 4 may be worth a small punt Man United and Norwich to both win is about 8 to 1

Lets put Uniteds last two fixtures into context. They were terrible against Newcastle, who Swansea have beaten 2-0 this season and Club Bruge are 8th in the Jupiter League a league which you would expect any EPL team to win. Lets not judge Van Gaal till the end of a season which he will try and BUY more players, something which United fans criticised their noisy neighbours for doing a couple of seasons ago. Think Swansea will score today so I fancy BTTS & match Result Draw @ 4.5 That stat about home wins this season is crazy. If it continues we need to look more at our selections. Man C 2 Leicester, United, Swnasea, Palace and Liverpool 1 Win each.
