BigMozzyDog
5pts New Zealand to beat South Africa South Africa’s team for this format generally picks itself, but there are a few spots that will be closely monitored. One of those spots is that of wicketkeeper. Quinton de Kock has been unceremoniously dumped back into the A team and Morne van Wyk has replace him in the squad. It doesn’t end there. Skipper AB de Villiers could well take over the gloves, showing his versatility once again. JP Duminy is a notable absentee after being granted early paternity leave, and it seems that there are areas of the side that are approaching transition for the first time in a long time. Not least in the spin bowling and all rounder departments. In this series, there is a good chance that a very reliable New Zealand can capitalise on the inevitable scrambling for position among the Proteas. Even without their talisman, Brendon McCullum, you can back New Zealand to win the first match at 7/4 with Ladbrokes. BigMozzyDog
3pts back New Zealand to beat South Africa at 2/1 with BetFred In the first game the Proteas won the toss and opted to bowl first, but things could have been far worse than the 151 New Zealand posted. South Africa’s bowlers were woeful during the powerplay and only a couple of key wickets at the perfect time stopped that decision looking a bit silly. The home side face a slight fitness dilemma with Faf du Plessis now fit again to resume his place if picked, so much will be down to the patented Iain Dowie bouncebackability that I think will see them over the line here to finish the series even.
