They have had a structure in place for a while with various age groups all playing the same tactics and formation from much younger ages. It is completely the opposite to those senior and more famous players who wouldn't want to risk getting injuries playing for the national team because the club salaries are what is much more important to them. Serbia's record (as Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro) is impressive – in eight final tournament appearances, they have finished winners once, runners-up three times, and reached the semi-finals on three other occasions. Only once have they not survived the group stage. U20 qualified for the final of the World Cup this morning, so that their morale will be high so it may compensate the absence of several important players. I don't see the value in Germany (which is fairly better team) this time. Good luck!

Both are key players and it will be a problem for them, also the Czechs suffered a major blow ahead of the tournament as Watford owner Giampaolo Pozzo blocked Matej Vydra's call-up to the U21 side. All other players are playing in their domestic league without a lot of experience, so you should expect a very defensive game from them. Denmark was unbeaten throughout qualifying, topping Group 2 with 26 points, second only to England. Scored 37 goals in 10 group games, six more than anyone else. Jess Thorup took over the team three years ago, and they haven''t suffered defeat since then. What is particularly Danes stand out is the fact that he is within its mandate promoted 10 senior NT players, all of whom will be present at the European Championships. Denmark have several big players missing but have still managed to secure a ridiculously talented set of 23 players for the tournament. There are several doubtful regulars, but we should expect that all be fit for this very important match. 4pts Denmark U21 (+0.75AH) to beat Germany U21 1.98 Ladbrokes I think Denmark will give as good as they get in this match and I think the bet is to take them on a handicap of some kind. The Asian line gives them a 0.75 goal head start which means Germany have to win by two to deliver a full loss. I think Denmark score in this match and so I don’t see them losing by two. Sweden have a number of full internationals in their squad for this tournament which proved an advantage against Italy but they played over an hour with 10 men and this match comes soon after that so I’m going to back England to deliver a more composed and structured performance and get the win they need. Germany U21 v Denmark U21: Sell time of 2nd Denmark goal at 81 with SPIN I'm sold on the prospect of goals in this game and the chances of Denmark making a closer game of it than the markets anticipate. That said, I've struggled to find any prices that really appeal. This one just about cuts the mustard, it's fairly low risk and could return a decent profit if Denmark really make a game of it. Having read Kevshat's preview I'll be taking a closer look at the options for backing Sisto to score. I'm still waiting for both spread firms to have goal minutes prices up.

Having had a look at the goalscorer prices for the favourites, I've bought Bittencourt's goal minutes at 9 with Spreadex and backed Schulz to score at 24 on BF. Latter has an impressive 5 goals from International Youth football (16 appearances, 13 starts) though it's only fair to say he's scored just twice in 123 domestic appearances (83 starts). I'm hoping his stats for the National team are an indication of how he's deployed rather than a random anomaly though, at that price, the stake's modest enough. I wouldn't take the best bookies' price of 10/1 but a buy of his goal minutes at 3 wouldn't be a bad alternative. Bittencourt is 13 to buy elsewhere and shorter than that price would imply with the fixed odds firms. Apparently playing on the wing, that price just looks too big though his stats are neutral at best (2 goals in 11 appearances/4 starts at this level, roughly a goal every 6 starts at club level). Off to look at Denmark's starters now.

For the Danes, I've taken Sisto anytime at 6.6 and Brock-Madsen anytime at 10/3 with Lads. Latter is seen as their main attacking threat and appeals to me at anything better than 3/1, former was brought to my attention by Kevshat's preview and appeals at the price. So hoping for a few goals here, with at least 1 or 2 from the selections!

Couldn't have been more wrong on last night's game! No bet thus far on England v Sweden, both teams to score feels likely but, even if it was my sort of bet, 10/11 strikes me as slightly too short. The other game makes a bit more appeal with Portugal (despite drifting slightly) fancied to prevail over Italy and score 2 or more in the process. I've opted for: Italy U21 v Portugal U21: Buy Portugal goal rush at 15 with Spreadex or Star Spreads Anything can happen in football so stake with the risk of an Italy clean sheet in mind but I like the prospect of a bet that sees little downside as long as Portugal score at least once and shows a profit for 2 or more. (Goal Rush market awards 0 points for 0 goals then 10 for 1, 20 for 2, 33 for 3, 50 for 4, 70 for 5 and 100 for 6 or more.)

Tuesday preview: 4pts Germany U21 to win to nil 19/10 Coral I always find betting on matches where the favourite doesn’t need to win quite tricky but I don’t think this German side can just settle for drawing and going through. A lot more is expected of them than that and as such I think they will push for the win although I wouldn’t expect them to commit silly numbers to get it. Czech Republic don’t have a lot to lose in this match but after their win at the weekend a lot more expectation will be on their shoulders now and they will have to cope with that. I’m sure they will give this a good go but I would expect the Germans to be ruthless and to win the match and most probably do it without conceding too. Group B final group games Wednesday 24th June 19.45 Once again, all four teams can qualify, and there could well be a few goals in these games as both sides go looking for a result. But these teams are more defensively-minded, and scored far fewer goals in the group games than the Group A sides, so I am reluctant to back 'overs'. Portugal v Germany: Bought Portugal's corners squared at 31 with Spreadex They gained 7,6 and 6 in the group stage while Germany conceded 4, 6 and 6. I think there's enough chance of Portugal gaining the 6 or more corners required to show a profit to make the bet appealing at the price. Could buy multi corners at 7 with SPIN (1st half x 2nd half) but I'm avoiding the extra risk in case their attacking all comes in one half!

For the Danes, I've taken Sisto anytime at 6.6 and Brock-Madsen anytime at 10/3 with Lads. Latter is seen as their main attacking threat and appeals to me at anything better than 3/1, former was brought to my attention by Kevshat's preview and appeals at the price. So hoping for a few goals here, with at least 1 or 2 from the selections!

actually Brock-Madsen is the worst player in our whole team, including every position. We havent produced a great striker since Bendtner, and we can all see how that went
