But with the likes of Saint-Etienne and Montpellier hard on their heels, the hosts will be particularly keen to take all three points here. At the moment, they sit on the 4th position in Ligue 1 but they will surely be pushing hard until the end of the season to get a new Champions League ticket for next season. In recent rounds, Saint Etienne were in a continuous movement and opponents had major difficulties in keeping up with them. It’s hard to find any player in Ligue 1 who has made more of an impact in 2015 than Saint Etienne’s winger Gradel has in his last six matches, where he scored a total of six goals.

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > April 3rd - 5th Monaco – St Etienne Both teams are in good form heading into this fixture and have won their last 3 consecutive games. Monaco have actually been one of the best teams in Ligue 1 since the start of December, winning 10 of their last 14 fixtures and losing just once during this period. The big question is exactly how much the upcoming CL quarter final with Juventus is on their mind. That is obviously a massive match and it’s possible they could be ‘looking ahead’ and it impact their performance here. St Etienne have the 2nd best away record in ligue 1 and will be no pushovers tonight. My overall feeling is for a draw. I don’t think either side will be easy to beat and Monaco have had the tendency to drop too many points at Le Stade Louis II this year. Prediction: Monaco 1-1 St Etienne NO BET

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > April 3rd - 5th No proper bets, but I will give some opinions of matches EAG- OL Clearly this match means more to OL who are desperate for title points. Guingamp might also have their eye on the midweek CDF semi final. Tough to beat at home but I expect this to be more open than expected, with a reasonable chance of OL win. Prediction: 1-2 Lille- Reims Poor price on the hosts but Reims have been generally poor since the winter break and I see quite a gulf in class here. It would be a surprise to me if Lille failed to win, but their odds are so skinny. Prediction: 2-0 Lorient - Rennes Breton derby so a dangerous match to bet on. Lorient need the points more and should have a good chance facing Rennes who have been out of form for a while. This should be another open game and I'd favour Lorient and overs, but the price is poor on the hosts. Prediction: 2-1 Metz - Toulouse Oh god! Find me a 3 sided coin and I'll toss it to predict this result! Metz haven't won for a long long time but surely they must end their streak at some point? Toulouse might still have new manager syndrome so I'd favour them more but I honestly haven't got a clue here. Prediction: 1-1 Montpellier - Bastia This might be closer than expected but Montpellier are fairly good at home, so I'll with them (just). Bastia will almost certainly be looking ahead to their CDL final in Paris and nobody will want to get injured or sent off here. Prediction: 1-0 Nice - Evian Neither team is going to want to lose this and I sense a close tight encounter, with 0-0 potential. Both have generally been out of form, but did win last time out. Got a fair few players missing for each team and this will be nervous. Prediction: 0-0 Meatman treble for the day - Lyon, Lille and Montpellier @ 7.35, worth a nibble for those who like that type of bet.

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > April 3rd - 5th For the remaining games today I predict two very tight contests Nantes - Caen Caen have generally been a very attacking team this season but I would be surprised if they operated in that sort of style here For a start, Nantes won't allow it and Les Canaris are generally quite a compact side who like possession football and to keep a slow pace to the game. A draw would actually suit both teams really and Caen aren't so stupid as to go for broke if they are drawing with 10 mins left. Prediction: 0-0 Marseille - PSG PSG have actually won the last 6 H2H fixtures, but 5 of those have been in Paris. Both teams are at full strength for this fixture and it's as massive as it gets really. I just wonder how much the fear of losing will have an affect here. For OM especially, defeat would be catastrophic and put them 5 points behind PSG, probably too much of a gap to make up. I really hope both teams 'have a go' and that OM are positive looking for the win. But in my experience these sort of games are often really close and congested. PSG have a good record in 'big' matches and OM have a recent history of wilting, so if I had to pick a winner it would actually be the visitors. Really hoping Marseille take 3 points, but I see a draw. Prediction; 0-0

A massive 9/10 matches finished over 2.5 goals this round in Ligue 1. I don't think this has EVER happened (that I can remember anyway). Only one team (Rennes) kept a clean sheet out of 20 teams! Quite frankly unbelievable!
