Re: Sky Bet Championship > Saturday January 17th Norwich look good for a win. As a fan, I can tell you everyone at the club is on a high at the moment with the appointment of an exciting new young manager, and he didn't have a bad start at Bournemouth. Cardiff mostly are a poor side away from home, they've lost three of the six they've played under Russell Slade, although they also drew at Charlton who had ten men for seventy minutes which isn't that far off a defeat. They won at Watford who are poor at home, and drew at Birmingham, which is an impressive result. Quotes from Ian Holloway, after Millwall lost to Bradford last night: "The lack of confidence in the team and in each other, we let a goal in almost straight away," Holloway said. "You could see how bad it is for everybody and in all my time in football I've never seen a team capitulate as bad as that. "All I can do is apologise to the fans. We've got so much work to do. The lads don't look like a Millwall team, they didn't have any fight in them, they don't look like my team. "Well done to Bradford. To a man they looked like they wanted it more than my lot after the sending off." Both Bradford and Millwall fans were chanting 'you're getting sacked in the morning' and Holloway admitted those words hurt. "It's football at the moment isn't it? I've been doing it 19 years and 860-odd games and this is football at the moment," he added. "I said it would be tough when I came here, but I didn't think it would be as tough as this." Millwall have won one of their last nine at home (Cardiff). Ipswich have lost only two of their twelve away games this season. One of those game in their first away match of the season, the other was at Cardiff in mid October.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Saturday January 17th 5pts Derby to beat N.Forest 8/11 Stan James This is going to be a tough ask for a low on confidence Forest side. Last time they made the short journey to Derby they were walloped 5-0. That saw the end of Billy Davies and a similar result here would see Stuart Pearce’s job under huge threat. You wouldn’t think a repeat of that will happen but the way Derby are playing right now it is very hard to see anything but a home win in this one. Re: Sky Bet Championship > Saturday January 17th Ipswich vs Millwall Ipswich is doing way much better than Millwall and they will be pushing real hard for the top 2 position. Ipswich away form is better good too, with only 2 defeats, though 6 draws and 4 wins. Whereas for Millwall, their home form has been weak, 3 wins 3 draws and 6 losses. They have also conceded on average nearly 2 goals per home match. For league matches, Millwall is winless in 4, a slump in form, while Ipswich draw once and lost once in their last 5 matches. Overall still a much better form as compared to Millwall... So I am not sure why Ipswich odds is so high ! Rotherham vs Bournemouth Bournemouth has been more or less consistently in good form throughout the seasons with some hiccups every now and then. Seeing their lead being cut due to the home loss against Norwich, they will be going for a straight win against a dip-in-form Rotherham... Bournemouth away forms still looks strong, 7W 3D 2L and 30 scored with 10 conceded only ! While for Rotherham, the home form is so-so only, 3W 5D 4L 12 scored 16 conceded... The 4 home losses were against teams at the top half of the league... So it really amazes me that Bournemouth 1x2 odds is so high...

Agree 100% here. This is my number 1 bet for the week. Derby and Forest going in opposite directions. Forest have lost 4 of their last 7 games, with no wins in 7. Derby have won 4 of their last 5 at home, with 3 clean sheets. They have scored 15 goals in their last 5 home games. Stuart Pierce under huge pressure as Forest's season goes from bad to worse. Home win (odds 1.75) for a max bet of 6 units

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Saturday January 17th I'm going to prefix this with 'football's a funny old game' and all that and often when you read fans forums and they all predict a loss for their team somehow it doesn't happen but I'm on Derby 0,-0.5 @ 1.45 bet366....a couple of reasons for me...Derby are the highest home scorers in the league with 27 goals so I think they have a good chance of finding the net tomorrow.Forest have failed to score in 5 of their 12 away games and tomorrow they will be a little light up top with Assombalonga(13 goals) and Fryatt(5 goals) missing.I know it's not as simple as that but if you take their goals away then they would be scoreless in 9 of their 12 aways....home win for me with 50% draw cover as Forest have had a few 0-0's away....

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Saturday January 17th Championship: Middlesbrough- Huddersfield Boro's failure to beat Reading at the Madejski last weekend (preview at the foot of the page) cost us a cleansweep on the English football , but they absolutely dominated possession and missed chance after chance and were once again denied by a goalkeeper at the very top of his game, with Adam Federici earning MOTM plaudits, to give you some idea of the flow of the game, the following three comments were all taken from home connections ..... Fan Forum Report: Reading extended their unbeaten to four games as their new found resilience and self-belief helped them to match a very strong Middlesbrough side. Without doubt today’s opponents are the best team to visit the Madjeski stadium so far this season. Boro dominated possession in the first half but were unable to make it count, and in an eventful second half Reading were certainly playing to win but remained disciplined in defence. The visitors will probably feel they should have won, but three excellent saves by Federici ensured Reading earned the point they deserved for their enterprise and work rate. Supporter : Well - no arguments about who was MOTM today - Feds by a country mile - which sums up why 'boro will feel hard done by with just a point! We started brightly but after the first 10 minutes the half belonged to 'boro. They should have been at least 2 up by half time and one of their efforts looked to me to be a contender for 'miss of the season'! By contrast - apart from a weak header from Pog - I don't think we had a single attempt on goal! Reading boss Steve Clarke: "As I said to the players after the game, we can thank Adam for our point this week. He's an experienced keeper, he's very safe, very solid. He doesn't make the nervous moments more nervous because he gets the ball, he catches it and he keeps it. I'm really pleased with him." I expect them to get back on track today, the visitors have picked up and are solid at home, but have conceded an average of 2.33 goals per game on the road at Boro are looking for a double over Town after winning 2-1 at the Galpharm. Adam Clayton returns from suspension which is very timely, but today is really just about taking chances and if one comes, a second , third or fourth might well follow, 1 will take 1.5 units Middlesbrough -1 ball 2.17 asian line/Sportmarket. However, the hosts are 6-5 (goals scored and conceded) before the break and 16-2 after and do take a while to get going here on Teeside, so you could hold out for a better quote and no one ever backed a loser by waiting !

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Saturday January 17th My choice for today will be backing Millwall not to lose tonight... Explanation above as stated... Another reason is because the odds for Ipswich at my side has slumped nearly 15% while Millwall 1x2 has risen more than 20%.. Ipswich is simply way too attractive for punters
