Re: Serie A TIM > January 5th & 6th Udinese - Roma pick: Roma -0.5 @ 1.98 12bet Flat stake: 1/10 Udinese 4-4-1-1 Karnezis - Pasquale, Bubnjic, Danilo, Wague- Kone, Guilherme, Allan, Widmer-B.Fernande- Di Natale Suspended: Heurtaux, Pinzi Injured: Muriel, Domizzi, Piris , Badu (international duty) Roma 4-3-3 De Sanctis - Maicon, Manolas, Yanga Mbiwa, Holebas, Pjanic, De Rossi, Nainggolan - Ljajic, Iturbe, Destro Suspended: - Injured: Ucan, Skorupski, Totti, Balzaretti, Castan ,Gervinho and Keita (int duty) First i like Roma squad, and finally situation in defense is better, when in attack have many option. Totti missing is not handicap for me, when for Gervinho in some part of game Iturbe is better option and Roma will motivated after break to stay in title race with Juventus. Udinese with Stramaccioni is overrated IMo, some nice victory, but to much depends on Di Natale, and Roma will find way to stop that old man. Also they have imp missing. Suspended: def Heurtaux, and midf Pinzi, injured Muriel, Domizzi and Piris. And Badu is also out, and problems it that they are not as Roma not have good players on bench, so every missing put problems to coach. So 4 man in defense will be Wague - Danilo- Bubnjic- Pasquale. and I see lots of problem to keep one of the most talented side in league. Also coach will play with only one striker, and Thereau who is in grat form this season will be on bench. I expect that Roma will control match, have ball possion, defense working better not received to much goals in last period (also they not allow so many chance to opposite team), Ljajic play more confidence, and if Iturbe show form from last year, I expect that Roma won this match.

Re: Serie A TIM > January 5th & 6th Lazio vs Sampdoria – Draw @ 3.70 Marathonbet Serie A starts again and the first game of 2015 is a really interesting one. Lazio against Sampdoria, with both teams sit high at the table, coming from some good performances and results. Home team is undefeated at the last five games for all competitions, won three of the last four games. Sampdoria on the other hand is one of the strongest teams of the championship, has lost only once, finds difficulties to take the points it needs to be even higher on the table. Visitors are coming from 5 draws at the last six games, I see many possibilities for one more tonight.

Re: Serie A TIM > January 5th & 6th Lazio V Sampdoria Sampdoria +1 @ 1.689 Matchbook > 5% BR Price on Sampdoria has gone a little crazy right before kick-off so I will get behind them on the +1 line here. Ok so top scorer Manolo Gabbiadini is out and on his way to Napoli which is a blow for Sampdoria here but they are still a very organised and defensively robust team. The away side are also missing De Silvestri at right-back who gets up and down the pitch well and provides good verticality but his replacement Cacciatore has good defensive attributes so they shouldn't be compromised too much. Overall I think because of the absences Sampdoria will be slightly weaker offensively but defensively they should still be very strong and Lazio tend to prefer open teams that play a high line. Sampdoria don't need to win this game so they can sit deep and invite Lazio to push, then hit on the counter through Eder. Ultimately Sampdoria should not be available on the +1 line here, let's see if they can shutdown a dangerous Lazio side in this first round after the winter break.

Well that went well! :lol Lazio were excellent from start to finish tonight, the winter break has not disrupted their form at all - Felipe Anderson is simply unstoppable at the momment. After a fantastic opening four months to the campaign it's been a harsh winter for the Phantom so far, he must brave the snowy wastes and fight on.

Re: Serie A TIM > January 5th & 6th It is never easy to get how the campaign will start but i think i'll give it a go for today. First bet comes from Milano where Milan will host Sassuolo.Milan have a number of missing players but most of them are defenders or defensive minded as well.(Bonaventura,Mexes,Armero,Ginkel,Jong).Abate and Sciglio are back in the squad as well as Cerci who could start from the bench.Milan finished the year in decent shape after winning their home games.Their win against Real Madrid by scoring 4 goals was pretty impressive and i think they must be in high spirits continuing their good run.Sassuolo is a tough nut to crack and could cause an upset to the big teams.Last time they failed to beat Cesena at home which is not a very good sign. It's true Sassuolo already gave a hard time to Roma, but i fully expect Milan to take the 3 points from them.Sassuolo don't have such problems with the squad but the gap in class between these two is very obvious and i think Milan will start the year as expected.HW @ 1.6 with bet365

Re: Serie A TIM > January 5th & 6th Another one which i actually like very much is the one between Juventus and Inter.Juve really shouldn't be priced as low as 1.4...It cannot be right against Inter.Inter finished the year improving and Mancini looks like he's been working on bringing glory back to Inter. Both teams have almost full squads for today and we should see a great game.Tevez already announced that he is not looking to extend his contract because he wants to finish his career in Argentina and it could affect in some way here.Osvaldo is back in the squad for Inter and could lead the attack today.Podolski is there too but i doubt he'll start the game.Juve were set to win the Super Cup but they failed to deliver. It's true that they are a real force at home being undefeated on home soil for i don't know how long but i think we could see a surprise today.Real Madrid were defeated and Barca as well.I think the 1st game of the year is a perfect time for Juve to fail at home.Anyway i won't go for the AW here, although it is not out of the cards, but i think the +1AH represent great value.Inter +1AH would be my choice here @ 2.2 with bet365.

Re: Serie A TIM > January 5th & 6th I think the bookies have set the odds opposite way in the game between Chievo and Torino.Bet365 offers 3.1 for a HW while AW win is priced 2.5.I just don't think it is right.Yes,Torino were doing fine in the group stage of Europe League but they are underachieving in Serie A scoring 12 in 16 which is less than a goal per game.Chievo will miss Radovanovic and Gamberini for today but they could be well replaced so nothing to worry about i think. Both teams are really low scoring and have similar goal difference.Torino have won 3 of the last 4 times these two met but i think we could see a HW today.I can separate both sides but the home advantage could prevail and the odds really should not bet set as the way they are.Chievo closed the year with a win in the derby against Verona and i will give them a credit for that. This should be a tight affair with less than 2 goals in it.Desptie the obvious under 2.5 bet i think i will go a little bit further and put my money on 1DNB @ 2.15 and a small punt on Chievo to win + under 2.5 @ 5 all with bet365.

Re: Serie A TIM > January 5th & 6th Great write ups Simeon. Do you have any thoughts on the Palermo v Cagliari game? Palermo seem to be in good shape and good form before the break, especially at home where they have won 4 and drawn 1 out of their last 5. Cagliari haven't wont a league game in their last 8 although they have got draws against Napoli and Milan in that time. They have two big missings today, Sau their top scorer (11/4) and also their other main forward Victor Ibarbo (13/2). Palermo can be backed at evens which seems decent odds to me. Any thoughts?

Re: Serie A TIM > January 5th & 6th I've been watching Palermo for a while because we have a local guy there-Chochev who is yet to build a name in Italy. He has great skills, holds the ball very well and delivers good passes.Anyhow,Palermo might win today but there is not chance for me to back them at odds on.They look like they are going to score but their defence is not that solid. They will have a lighter task for today due to the abcense of 2 attacking players for Cagliari.Zeman was sacked and Zola is now in charge which might have a positive effect on the team.I think he could set them a little bit defensive in order to avoid a defeat in the beginning of the 2nd part of the season.Writing that i am starting to think that under 2.5 would be a wise choice.Anyway,it is a no bet for me but if i had to i would be on Draw & under 2.5 @ 4.33 with bet365 because Palermo are on a good streak but i don't think they can maintain their form and this place actually suits them and with the appointment of Zola,Cagliari will look a bit streghtened at the back.Good luck whatever you choose.!

Re: Serie A TIM > January 5th & 6th Juventus vs Inter – Over 2.5 @ 1.90 Marathonbet This is one of the biggest derbies of Italy. Juventus against Inter, with two teams separated by 18 points (!), a difference that shows the difference between them. Juventus is much more completed, with strong defence and clear offensive strategy. Meanwhile, Inter is searching its identity under the commands of coach Mancini. Juventus made a bad December, when they won only once, took three draws and lost the Super Cup to Napoli. For Serie A, champions are coming from a home draw against Sampdoria. On the other hand, Inter is coming from the home draw against Lazio (2-2) and before that the away victory against Chievo. With Mancini, most of the games have rhythm, many chances and mainly many goals. That is why I will go with the Over 2.5.

Re: Serie A TIM > January 5th & 6th :lol That's how I feel right now Toto! Some good write-ups from Simeon Borisof today, Chievo do look a little long being available on the +0.25 line but the absences they have are important, game has 0-0 written all over it. Inter on a + is shortlisted but man, that Juventus midfield is just light-years ahead of Inter's.

Re: Serie A TIM > January 5th & 6th Chievo Verona- Torino  Hosts have had 16 days to bask in the derby day win over Verona immediately before the Christmas break and that will have done their self esteem and confidence a lot of good , the hosts have lost just once in seven and kept cleansheets in three of their last four starts and if they can just find a few more goals and points at home, they should be able to stay in Serie A. They will surely be looking to make the most from this fixture and a trip to Atalanta at the weekend, with Fiorentina, Juve and Napoli to follow this month. The hosts are without Serbian defensive midfiedler Ivan Radovanovic, they are 0-0-6 in his absence over the last two seasons, but five of those defeats did come on the road. The visitors are another who has struggled to come to terms with the loss of key players in the summer and Ciro Immobile was always going to be impossible to replace and Alessio Cerci , almost as big a loss. The goals have dried up domestically and a lengthy Europa League campaign, already appears to be taking a toll. They arrive without first choice keeper Jean-Francois Gillet (one win in six without him), central midfielder Omar El Kaddouri and ever present central defender Emiliano Moretti and those absences rob them of the spine of their team. Hosts have scored 67% of all and home goals after the break and with Torino only having scored one second half road goal, this looks a good match up for Chievo. 1.5 units Chievo Verona level ball 2.12 asian line/Sportmarket. Chievo: Francesco Bardi, Andrea Seculin, Albano Bizzarri, Bostjan Cesar, Nicolas Frey, Dario Dainelli, Gennaro Sardo, Cristiano Biraghi, Ervin Zukanovic, Isaac Cofie, Perparim Hetemaj, Thomas Mangani, Nicola Bellomo, Valter Birsa, Mariano Izco, Ezequiel Schelotto, Dejan Lazarevic, Sergio Pellissier, Maxi Lopez, Alberto Paloschi, Riccardo Meggiorini. Torino: Luca CASTELLAZZI, Daniele PADELLI, Cesare BOVO, Matteo DARMIAN, Kamil GLIK, Pontus JANSSON, Nikola MAKSIMOVIC, Cristian MOLINARO, Bruno PERES, Gaston SILVA, Migjen BASHA, Marco BENASSI, Alexander FARNERUD, Alessandro GAZZI, Giuseppe VIVES,AMAURI, Vitor BARRETO, Josef MARTINEZ, Fabio QUAGLIARELLA.

You are right about the midfield area.Juve squad is far better at the moment, some might say the best in Italy but comes time when you are just being defeated no matte how good you are.As i sapointed above-in my opinion Real Madrid are arguably the best team in the world and yet they have been defeated consecutively by Milan and Valencia.Barcelona are in top 5 in the world and there he is Moyes won it.So i cannot see why at the start Juve should be so heavy favourites and i cannot see Inter losing by more than 1 goal difference.

Don't forget it is a special game tonight - the 'derby d'italia' so I don't think Juventus will be so complacent compared to their Spanish counter-parts. Inter are a slowly improving side and show promise in some areas but Juventus are still clearly a level above, 2 goals above? now that is still the key question for me.

Yeah Medel and Kuzmanovic are two grunts in there who only do the dirty work, whereas in Juve, every midfielder can create and contribue to the attacks. Kovacic is very good and will be a great player, whereas Hernanes isn't the threat he once was maybe. I agree this area of the field is the biggest point of difference and could well decide proceedings.

You should've followed your gut feeling...By the way' date='Inzaghi should really work on improving the defence line. The back 4 look like they barely know each other.[/quote'] Nah, I was happy to take your advice on board don't worry. You have made many sound bets/suggestions on here so I was happy to be cautious. The new manager affect could have gone either way really which made it more of a gamble. I'm watching the Milan game and just hope they can put another 1 or 2 past Sassuolo as I think the away team look to possibly have another goal in them.

Re: Serie A TIM > January 5th & 6th its games like ac milan v sassuolo that make my head explode. i invested heavily in it and i just don't get how they beat real madrid in friendly which boosted their confidence and are fresh from the break to go on and fuck it up instead of building on it. i think sassuolo as relegation team still but apparently they only have one loss in eleven matches. they drew sampdoria, fiorentina, juventus, roma and beat ac milan. damn the stupid ac milan

Re: Serie A TIM > January 5th & 6th Well I think Conte's Juventus is gone in a sense. Juve looked to have been "negotiating" with Inter all game whereas under Conte I feel they used to just roll over a side like this and score the second then the third at home. The appointment of Allegri indicates to me that they intend on winning nothing this season and I really see a hungry Roma side with no CL commitments overtaking them soon. Lucky I skipped this one.
