Pre-Season - January 11

Recommended Posts

Yet another exciting season should be ahead of us, so let's start with some pre-season picks! Back ATP Season 2015 - Top Swedish Player - Elias Ymer for a 7/10 stake at 1.90 with Unibet Baring a comeback by Robin Soderling, this will be a race between Elias Ymer and Christian Lindell - and one simply has to favor the younger player of the two in that one. Long story short, he seems to be both the better and the more talented guy. Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back Viktoria Azarenka 2015 End of Season Ranking - Over 5.5 for a 7/10 stake at 1.80 with Skybet Azarenka is a great player, but getting back to the top 5 won't be easy for her in my opinion, especially since there are no guarantees regarding her fitness at the moment. Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back To Reach a Grand Slam Final - Caroline Wozniacki for a 7/10 stake at 2.50 with Paddy Power Back To Reach a Grand Slam Final - Agnieszka Radwanska for a 7/10 stake at 3.50 with Paddy Power Fancy Wozniacki and Radwanska to do well next year - and these odds look quite interesting to me given that they've both reached a Grand Slam final before. Navratilova could do wonders for Radwanska and Wozniacki looked excellent in the second part of the 2014 season, so it seems to me that chances are good that we're going to see them doing well in the majors in 2015. Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back David Ferrer 2015 End of Season Ranking - Under 13.5 for a 7/10 stake at 1.83 with Skybet Age doesn't seem to be a problem for guys like Federer or Haas, so why exactly it should be a problem for Ferrer is beyond me really. He's still a top player and he can finish inside this line even without doing anything special in the majors, so I'm happy to go for the unders in this particular market. Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back ATP Season 2015 - Top USA Player Born 1996 or Later - Stefan Kozlov for a 5/10 stake at 3.50 with Unibet Stefan Kozlov looks like the real deal to me and he actually came pretty close to winning a challenger title in the previous season, so the 3.50 that's on offer for him to outperform the trio of Donaldson/Rubin/Escobedo seems to be a price worth taking. Re: Pre-Season - January 11 4pts Top South American W/O Del Potro - P.Cuevas 3/1 SkyBet The guy has had knee problems for a while. Recently fixed this and then won his first and then second title within two weeks. He is at his career highest position at the moment I believe and he can do well here across the season.

Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back WTA Season 2015 - Player to Progress the Furthest in the Singles Draw of a Grand Slam During the Year - Elina Svitolina for a 4/10 stake at 5.00 with Unibet Quite speculative, but I do rate Svitolina slightly above the trio of Lisicki/Keys/Giorgi (the other three choices in this market) at the moment and she seems to have made a lot of progress quality-wise in the last season, so I believe that there's a good chance that she's going to have some sort of a breakthrough year in 2015. Re: Pre-Season - January 11

Which betting first ejects an offer for Monday? Merry Christmas and thank you!
I am not sure I understand the question - there are no bigger tournaments on Monday that I am aware of. The Abu Dhabi exhibition tournament that starts on the 1st of January should be the first major event.

Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Ye/Yang to beat Hong/[email protected], bet365, 7/10 I know Ye for a long time couple of years.... She is the bomb in doubs imho and will be another Hsieh for years to come.... Yang is an equally solid singles player who will be cracking the top100 next year imho... The odds represented more value when it was 1.83 but then I unloaded some xmas €€€ on it. Now it is 1.72. Hong Kang is decent bu thats all. I like the talent mismatch in this final!! Have been making money on them whole tourney!! Take it and buy your wife something nice. Match starts pretty soon! Vamos!

Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back Daniela Hantuchova Singles Ranking as of 9 November 2015 - Under 90.5 for a 9/10 stake at 1.70 with Unibet This looks like a ridiculous line to me given that Hantuchova has recently struck a coaching deal with Carlos Rodriguez. Even if that doesn't work out well in the end, it shows that she still has plenty of motivation even after that awful finish to the 2014 season - and there's no doubt that she's capable of finishing well inside the top 90 in 2015. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/wta-2015-betting-daniela-hantuchova-to-get-back-on-track-in-the-next-season And don't forget that there are the PL Oscars going on at the moment!

Abu Dhabi Exhibition [Jan 1-3rd] Draw for this has been made. Stakes will be small with it being such a minor event really from a punters perspective. Djokovic looks like he has a passage straight to the final. Winner of Lopez/Murray will play a potentially unfit Nadal in the semi. I think despite Murray's complete dominance of Lopez in the head-2-head I'm going to have a tiny stake on F.Lopez at 40/1 E/W just because I think Murray will be using this as a fitness routine really and he hasn't done so well in the past in this event when he has been entered. He lost to Tipsarevic in the first round in 2012 and then again 2013 out in round 1 in straight sets to Tsonga so we don't know his mindset for this tournament. Lopez is a last minute replacement in this event for Monfils so perhaps he will really give this event some effort and his serve can always keep him in games too. All in all the price of 40/1 seems big. 1pt E/W F.Lopez to win Abu Dhabi 40/1 BetVictor

Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back End of 2015 Season Ranking - Nick Kyrgios - Over 25.5 for a 8/10 stake at 2.05 with Pinnacle Put simply, I don't trust Kyrgios as much as many others do. He's a talented guy, don't get me wrong, but finishing inside the top 25 doesn't look like a straightforward task at all and the weight of expectations might hinder his progress to a certain extent as well, so I'm more than happy to go for the unders in this particular market. Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back Ranking Match Bet - Garbine Muguruza to beat Belinda Bencic for a 7/10 stake at 1.73 with Skybet Both ladies are tremendously talented, but I find it hard to not fancy Muguruza in this match-up. Unlike Bencic, she's already a complete player and she's also the more experienced of the two, so chances are that she's also going to be the higher-ranked of the two at the end of the next season. Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back Novak Djokovic to win the Mubadala World Tennis Championship for a 7/10 stake at 1.70 with Betway Novak Djokovic always takes this tournament very seriously and he's certainly the best of the bunch at the moment, so I'm happy to take the 1.70 that's on offer for him to win the event (that actually equals to winning two matches). Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back Feliciano Lopez (+1.5 sets) to beat Andy Murray for a 7/10 stake at 2.23 with Pinnacle Murray is rarely to be trusted when it comes to exhibition matches, while you can be sure that Lopez won't take this contest lightly, so I simply wouldn't have the plus set handicap above evens here. Re: Pre-Season - January 11

Can I just ask....... A lot of these season-long bets you've tipped up look great prices but what sort of money are you putting on these to make waiting 11 months for a payout worthwhile? You seem to be suggesting similar stakes to what you place on individual matches, surely it can't be worth placing a bet of that size when it's going to take a year for it to pay out? Inflation alone is going to decrease your potential winnings.
Yep, normal stakes, perhaps slightly more here and there due to the reasons you've stated. I can understand why these bets might look unappealing to some, but, since I'm following tennis throughout the entire year, it doesn't really pain me to wait 11 months. The inflation argument is a good one, although my take on it is that these bets tend to have more value than regular match ones, so that balances out the inflation. In any case, it's down to you - I do understand why someone doesn't want to wait that long. However, it also seems to me that many people take season-long bets on football, so I'm definitely not alone in this.

Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back Rafael Nadal to beat Andy Murray for a 4/10 stake at 1.95 with Pinnacle I wasn't impressed by Murray today, so I'm happy to back Nadal against him tomorrow at such a decent price. Not only is he the better player of the two, but he also tends to care more about these exhibition matches (and he'll be desperate to prove that he's ready for the upcoming season). That said, lower stakes are recommended due to the fact that there are still some question marks regarding the Spaniard's fitness. Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back Miloslav Mecir to beat Michal Przysiezny for a 6/10 stake at 2.55 with Winner Mecir managed to beat Przysiezny in Vienna a couple of months ago and the Pole actually looks like a pretty good match-up for him, as Mecir is one of those smarter players that can play around their opponent's strengths. Przysiezny is quite one-dimensional and he can self-destruct pretty easily if his serve stops working at some point, so the 2.55 that's on offer for Mecir looks like a price worth taking to me. Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Happy New Year everyone! I had a blast last year and also a good december. I was focused on my other business but made a very healthy profit and I have them in an xls file, so if you are interested in my history in december you can pm me. Just to see what's what! Let's get this year on quickly I will be focusing on the wta and hongkong 50k next week. We have some angles thos weekend with a lot of qualies coming up tonite! VAMOS Akiko Omae to beat Mizuno Kijima @1.40 Ann-Sophie Mestach to beat Sacha Jones 2-0 @1.44 Double @2.02, bet365 I will start with this double, I followed Omae all week when I wasnt sleeping and her game is better then Kijima's in many areas imho. Omae had a tougher draw and will win this in straight sets. Kijima has done all she can this tournament and she should have lost to Okamura imho in the QF, but she got lucky, winning 76 in the third. Mestach finished last year in Toyota 75k in incredible form and I dont think Jones can cope with her. Jones had one match last year so I dont really think this can be a tough duel. GL!

Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back Adam Pavlasek (+1.5 sets) to beat Vasek Pospisil for a 5/10 stake at 3.18 with Pinnacle Despite his low ranking, Pavlasek is actually a pretty decent player in his own right and I can definitely see him taking a set off Pospisil tomorrow. The underdogs usually take the Hopman Cup incredibly seriously, while I wouldn't be surprised to see Pospisil wanting to just get into the right rhythm without pushing himself to the limit. Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back Tsvetana Pironkova to beat Carla Suarez-Navarro for a 5/10 stake at 4.34 with Pinnacle Too big a price in my opinion, especially if you consider that Suarez-Navarro has a pretty poor record in Brisbane and that all of her losses came against players that can hit big. If Pironkova gets her big shots firing soon enough, she should have every chance against the world's number seventeen, even though the H2H record might say otherwise. Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back Marius Copil to beat Tim Smyczek for a 5/10 stake at 3.12 with Pinnacle In all honesty, I don't think that Smyczek is a significantly better player than the Romanian, so I'm not sure what these odds are all about. Smyczek was the more consistent guy of the two last year and that's the reason for him also being the higher-ranked, but I don't believe that he deserves to be priced around the 1.40 mark in this one. Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Brisbane International - Bernard Tomic @ 34 Betfair Tomic has been training on the Gold Coast for six weeks and with the heat in Queensland very severe right now I think this could give him a slight advantage. He won his first title in Australia (Sydney) and after a pretty disappointing 2014 I have a feeling he'll start the year well at home and being on the opposite side of the draw to Federer is obviously a bonus.

Re: Pre-Season - January 11 Back Caroline Wozniacki to win WTA Auckland for a 5/10 stake at 3.25 with Bet365 Back Jana Cepelova to win WTA Auckland for a 0.5/10 stake at 101.00 with BetVictor Wozniacki is the only really big name in the draw and the draw has been quite kind to her as well, so 3.25 looks like a price worth taking to me. Meanwhile, Cepelova could become the dark horse of the tournament if she survives her opener against Williams, so I'll have a minuscule punt on her at such a massive price.
