Juventus v Borussia Dortmund > Tuesday February 24th

Re: Juventus v Borussia Dortmund > Tuesday February 24th 4pts Both teams to score 19/20 William Hill I think this will be a good tie both in this first leg and the second one to come in Germany. Both sides have men who can open up a defence and neither are particularly goal shy so we should see something like an open tie especially if the deadlock is broken early which should lead to plenty of attacking and in turn goal chances and goals. At just under evens I like both teams to score here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/juventus-vs-dortmund-betting-both-sides-can-find-the-net-in-italy

Re: Juventus v Borussia Dortmund > Tuesday February 24th Juventus are such a well-oiled machine these days you can understand why they are favourites here. They've got so many great players and seem almost invincible at home. Dortmund have struggled in the Bundesliga this season. I've seen some of both sides' recent league games and based on these viewings, Dortmund start to look attractive. Juventus really struggled at home to Atalanta last Friday, and were hanging on to a 2-1 scoreline in the last few minutes, when Atalanta went close to equalising. Dortmund's shots on target stats from the group games are noticeably better than Juve's, and I think it is worth backing them on the handicap and their odds look a bit too high. Allegri, the Juve coach has said "playing at home, it is fundamental that we don't concede", and I think this could be a defensive game, possibly a draw. I prefer to back teams rather than 'unders' or the draw, so I favour backing the German club here. Re: Juventus v Borussia Dortmund > Tuesday February 24th Juventus are yet to prove themselves in Europe. I honestly don't know what to expect from them here. As a fan, I watch their league matches, and to beat the weakest sides, the matches stay 0-0 and 1-0 for long periods of time and you feel they are fully capable of belting a side 4-0 but rarely do. What scares me here is that Juve are the kings of Serie A which is played at a light jog but in Italy they don't come up against the sort of attacking predators that lurk in Europe. One thing they may not react well to is speed and intensity. Two things BVB have in abundance. Juve like to play it slow and win matches 2-0 where BVB have been shipping goals in Germany but are still winning as Reus, Kagawa, Aubameyang? Immobile and Mkhitaryan simply shoot the opposition down and like it fast and furious. Juventus lack a top striker to partner Tevez and Allegri has mentioned his concerns over their attack in the press before in relation to Champions League. I'm looking at you Llorente >:| I am going to watch this one and enjoy it without wagering.

Re: Juventus v Borussia Dortmund > Tuesday February 24th Have to admit I've had a small punt on Dortmund DNB here. There isn't too much argument that Juventus are a better team than them currently, Tevez is having another very good season, Morata has started to find his feet and has compensated for Llorente's decline. Defensively I don't think they are quite as solid as last season and Pirlo isn't the force he was but they are a very good home side. Does this justify Dortmund being 2.75ish with draw cover though? Those of us who are backing them will be ignoring league form to an extent - despite the 3 recent wins - and instead focusing on their fine European form where they seem to enjoy being the underdogs and under less pressure than they find themselves under in the league where they are favourites in 90% of games. Most of the team is now fit - which in itself is rare for the last couple of years, and as I said I think they will enjoy coming into the game priced above 4.0 for the win. Tactically Juve won't throw masses of bodies forward, still think they are very reliant on Tevez. It's a bet on them not being able to cope with the direct running and pace of Dortmund more than anything as it's different to what they usually face and the hope that Dortmund can spring an unusually solid defensive performance. Borussia Dortmund DNB - 2.78-2.82 - betfair - 2 Points

Re: Juventus v Borussia Dortmund > Tuesday February 24th Juventus to win here with handicaps, maybe even without goal conceded. No value on Dortmund, especially not in a season like this, Juve will certainly look to finish them off in 1st game, that seems oblivious.

Juventus to win here with handicaps' date=' maybe even without goal conceded. No value on Dortmund, especially not in a season like this, Juve will certainly look to finish them off in 1st game, that seems oblivious.[/quote'] No. I think you're looking at the name rather than the current ability of the team. I've taken Dortmund to qualify as, basically, I think they're a much better side than Juventus. They look like they're returning to form, won their last three in the Bundesliga, and their CL form has been good all season.

And they failed us all, showing in the Group how far they were from the CL standards and the likes of Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern... NO BET on 1x2, I see at least 2 goals here though. I do not trust much with the defenses of both team, which is good enough for Over 2 goals for safety... GL

There's a joke there somewhere ... :lol
If there is, I must admit I'm obvious to it! (I assume you're alluding to the malapropism rather than innuendo around being finished off by the old lady!) :$

Re: Juventus v Borussia Dortmund > Tuesday February 24th That's why i like this forum. Most are taking on Juve ( against the market)and that seems sensible to me. their European pedigree these last 10 years has been poor, with only one QF in that time, till now. it's right to say Italian defences do NOT come up against the quality strikers that you see in Europe. IMO the Italian league lacks the quality of other European leagues in general, so their domination there, does not impress me that much. Indeed, without Tevez's goals, that even may have been a different story. Contrastingly, Dortmund are here for the third year in a row, are improving after a poor domestic season and Have Marko Reus back fit and scoring goals. I think they are good value to get something out of this game ( keep an eye on Tevez tho) and I would lay Juve. THink it could well be a draw 1-1 or poss 2-2.

Re: Juventus v Borussia Dortmund > Tuesday February 24th I like the look of Dortmund here. Juve have consistently underwhelmed in Europe and that won't change with Allegri. Dortmund have nothing but the Champions League (and maybe DFB Pokal) to play for this season, they are too good to get relegated and appearing in the UCL semifinals or finals will save what is a pretty tattered reputation. They have been a totally different side in Europe so far this season anyways, much like Everton in the Europa League.

Quite surprised the market is still moving against Dortmund, taken another point DNB at 3.0 with bet365. Wouldn't make Juve such big favorites.

Re: Juventus v Borussia Dortmund > Tuesday February 24th I'm not sure why you all undermine Juve's defence so much. Fact is they rarely concede ever since Allegri was in charge and transform the backline into 4-man. It's extremely difficult to beat a 4-man Italian defence, especially when they have the sort of Chiellini and Bonucci. They may be complacent in Serie A but we all should expect them to concentrate on the job in Europe. As Allegri ordered, Juve will play a very tight game for sure, they have the quality to do it. Whether they will win or not is another matter, but I expect a low scoring match tonight. If we know how dangerous Dortmund can be, Allegri is certainly aware of the danger too and he has the measures to deal with it properly. Frankly speaking, Dortmund's attack is bland without Reus. If the man is marked out of the game (Chiellini is the specialist) I expect Dortmund to be toothless all night. Therefore I will go big on the Under 2.5 goals, CS 0-0, 1-0.

Re: Juventus v Borussia Dortmund > Tuesday February 24th Juve plays the most amazing footie right now. You can't be serious punter if you think Dortmund stands any chance in this moment. Take Juve and thank me later :D

Re: Juventus v Borussia Dortmund > Tuesday February 24th I expect Allegri and his Juve very compact, not giving spaces, but Dortmund are running like hell in comparison to Juve and italian sides in general. I expect at least one goal from visitors at 1,56 at Betflag, combined on a combo. In general, this can be a very difficult match, Juventus will have huge support and i expect a 1-1 draw or a win for guest, that IMO are superior with pace and tactical skills

Both sides are hopeless for this level and whoever goes through will almost certainly be knocked out in the next round. Dortmund were terrible at the back and Juve didn't really impress either against such a fragile side.

Re: Juventus v Borussia Dortmund > Tuesday February 24th Juve were clearly the better side. They easily nullified Dortmund's attacks all night. Unless there is another disastrous slip by a Juve's player, I can't see Dortmund scoring in the return leg. Numerous chances created but Juve wasted most of them as usual. Juve will go through but they probably are not ready to compete with the likes of Bayern, Real or Barca yet.

Bingo. This is the main reason why they have no chance in this competition. Compared to the big sides who can play awful and score 3 goals

Out of form BVB had them by the balls in the first half, the freak goal by never-to-score Morata saved their face, otherwise ... Juve was decent defensivly, the ref was in many occasions clearly on their side. Reading your post I cant shrug off the feeling you watched a different match.

They are first in Serie A because the refs are on their side, they qualified from the Champions League group because the ref was on their side. Probably the Italian referee mafia contacted Miguel Lahoz before the match and arranged the decisions to go in Juve's favour.
