After the farce of the ODI series with West Indies being cancelled India have arranged a five match ODI series with Sri Lanka which begins on Sunday. Re: India vs Sri Lanka - ODI Series Series preview: 3pts India to win 4-1 3/1 Bet365 Given Sri Lanka’s lack of bowling resources in this series I expect India to win the series overall but you would think Sri Lanka will be good for a game somewhere especially if India seal the series early and start to rotate their side. They have a squeak in the first three matches where MS Dhoni is unavailable too so 4-1 India looks a fair scoreline given that they are in the ODI groove. There is no Lasith Malinga to face against the new ball which will help and given that he’s beginning to come under pressure for his place in the side the opener could do with five decent matches here to keep the doubters and the sceptics at bay. He nailed a half century in the Windies series so his form looks to be returning and with Kohli’s mind possibly on other things Dhawan could be the man to be on here. He was playing for Sri Lanka A against the West Indies earlier in the month so he will have plenty of rhythm to his batting as opposed to those who weren’t in that squad who will be going in here with only one innings to their names since the Champions League. Using the pace on the ball should help Tharanga and he’s a decent price in this series. Re: India vs Sri Lanka - ODI Series 1st ODI preview: 4pts India Most 6s 11/10 Stan James India are about the right price for this match but without Dhoni leading them I can’t really take them at a short price. One area where they do look a bit big is in the most sixes market. India have a batting line up which is all capable of hitting sixes whereas Sangakkara, Jayawardene and to a large degree Tharanga are all lighter hitters and tend to rely on placement rather than brute force. 11/10 looks a big price on India to hit the most sixes in this one. Re: India vs Sri Lanka - ODI Series 2nd ODI preview: 5pts India Most 6s 10/11 Skybet Given the margin India won the sixes battle by in Cuttack I’m very surprised that you can get 10/11 on them winning that particular clash in this match. It just isn’t in the DNA of the Sri Lankan top order to smash balls out of the ground whereas the Indians are perfectly adept at it all the way down. Throw in this very weak Sri Lankan attack that is there for the taking and I don’t see India losing the sixes match here. Re: India vs Sri Lanka - ODI Series 3rd ODI preview: 4pts S.Dhawan (-2.5 runs) to beat T.Dilshan 5/6 Ladbrokes This ground is Shikhar Dhawan’s home ground in the Indian Premier League so he will get good support here and should know the conditions. He has been in wonderful form in this series so far so I’m a little surprised that he is only having to give up 2.5 runs against a Dilshan who is starting to look his age a little more now. This Sri Lanka attack doesn’t worry Dhawan and he can pile up the runs on Dilshan here. Usually with a series over both sides bring in the fringe players and get weaker but Sri Lanka have called upon the cavalry and Sangakkara aside look a lot stronger. India don’t look as strong and with their top scorer in the series out of the picture they might just have opened the door for a Sri Lanka side who should be better suited to this track than the previous three. Re: India vs Sri Lanka - ODI Series 5th ODI preview: 4pts K.Perera Under 24.5 runs 5/6 Ladbrokes Kusal Perera has scored four runs in three matches in this series so far so it is a slight surprise that his runs line in this match is still as high as 24.5. He looks bang out of touch and that isn’t good for a player with his style because if he is even slightly out of nick he is there for the taking. Perera looks like a man who needs to get out of India quickly and he can go with another low score.
