BillyHills
Qualifying .............On the track most drivers have been positive about the new circuit at Sochi but in free practice it was business as usual with Nico Rosberg taking P1 ahead of team mate Lewis Hamilton and in the second session the Brit finished quickest. Which ever way you slice it up it’s another good weekend for Mercedes on the cards and none of the other teams can do anything about it. Of the opposition McLaren looked quite quick here in both sessions and Fernando Alonso ended up third in P2 which followed a solid fourth earlier. Red Bull have been very disappointing so far here in Sochi, this morning they were 12th and 14th and this afternoon 9th and 13th. Obviously they need to sort things out quickly before tomorrows qualifying. Hamilton is the odds on favourite to start from pole position, his performance in P2 was miles better than anything we have seen so far on this new circuit and can be backed at 8/11 with Betfred. Rosberg is 15/8 with Coral and it’s 20/1 bar which brings in Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa. Pole Position L.Hamilton 8/11 Betfred
BillyHills
Re: Russian Grand Prix http://www.punterslounge.com/formula-one-betting-valtteri-bottas-a-big-danger-to-mercedes ...............At the prices Valtteri Bottas has to be a value punt, he has looked every bit as good as the Mercedes pair and its just a shame he’s not charging down to the first turn along side Hamilton, that would have been interesting. Bottas is 8/11 to get on the podium and that’s a fair bet for those looking for something more solid. If you’re sure he will be the best of the rest then the Even money ‘without Mercedes’ will appeal to some. I like the 2/1 about Daniil Kyvat to stay inside the top six, he is obviously revved up here in his home country and the car is going very well on this brand new circuit. He ahs been inside the top ten on all practise runs and starts the race in 5th position. Selections: EW V.Bottas 12/1 Coral V.
