Re: Singapore Masters 15-16 Aug Tournament preview: 1pt ew S.Whitlock to win Singapore Masters 16/1 Spreadex (1/3 1-2) Conditions in Singapore are probably going to be pretty heavy and a bit sticky and that could make a difference this weekend. That is likely to suit someone who throws a heavy dart or throws the dart with a purpose and for me that plays into Simon Whitlock’s hands. If the others are struggling with the heat and the humidity he is less likely to and he really launches the dart at the board so he should be at home here which makes the 16/1 on him winning look a touch too big. I might be wrong but I sense he wants to prove he deserved his place in the Premier League and a couple of wins here would do that quest no harm. Peter Wright had a wonderful start to the year but things have just started tailing off for him and these sort of events are still new to him so I like Wade here. Barneveld has never enjoyed playing in extreme heat and he’s likely to face that here whereas Whitlock won’t be fussed by that at all. How much interest Barneveld will have in this tournament remains to be seen but he hasn’t been all that interested since he won the Premier League. Whitlock can win this I believe. The thing which was noticeable in the Matchplay was how he was hitting a lot more 180s. With him hitting more than normal and Chisnall one of the biggest 180 hitters in the game I’m prone to thinking that the 8.5 180s line is a little on the low side here even in a best of 19 match. The legs line suggests this one will end 10-5 or easier but I don’t see it being that easy. I think Hamilton is good for half a dozen legs and I don’t see him winning more than 10-6 either so over 15.5 legs looks the way forward to me. Re: Singapore Masters 15-16 Aug Semi final previews: 4pts S.Whitlock to beat D.Chisnall 4/5 Betfred Simon Whitlock is a worthy favourite here even though Chisnall performed well in beating Taylor. Whitlock is the better all round player and he’s scoring very heavily at the minute which when coupled with his finishing ability is a pretty potent combination. Chisnall finished brilliantly when he beat Taylor but you’d have to doubt whether he can repeat that sort of performance so he is going to have to find something special to win here. Re: Singapore Masters 15-16 Aug 4pts M.van Gerwen vs J.Wade - Over 16.5 legs 5/6 BetVictor I think Wade will keep this match close. I think van Gerwen will give him some chances and his own scoring and finishing ability will earn him his fair share of legs too. I’m not convinced MVG is in top form this week and I wouldn’t really expect him to be either so that in itself will give Wade a chance. So everything about this match looks like it could be a tight match so I like over 16.5 legs.
