Re: UEFA > Champions League > Tue 5th & Wed 6th August 2014 Bestikas v Feyenoord Bestikas played well in front of a hostile Dutch crowd last week and no doubt they'll be obliged to return the favor this week. They were leading 0-2 until the 95th minute when a Feyenoord attacker was clipped in the box in a very similar position to where Robbben went down vs Mexico. Result: 2-1 courtesy of the last minute penalty. That last goal ensures there won't be any complacency from the Turks and they'll be best served trying to win this match rather than anything other strategy (like trying to lose 0-1 and progress on away goals):lol. Last season Bestikas finished 3rd in Turkey with the following home record losing only 1 match all season. W 10 D 6 L 1 F 26 A 12 Feyenood similarly were good at home (last season) but weaker away like most sides in the world. Bestikas has accomplished the hardest part of the tie which was not only surviving the away leg but actually winning it. At home in front of fanatic supporters I can't see them losing to the Dutch. Feyenoord's last away match in the champion's league was a 2-1 defeat at Dinamo Kiev on 1 August 2012 at this same stage where they were eliminated prior to the group stages. Their last matches in Europe altogether were home and away to Russian side Kuban Krasnodar in the Europa League playoffs losing 1-0 on 23/8/13 and losing the home leg 1-2 on 30/8/13 I think the price of over evens for a home win is a bit high but because a draw is enough for them, I'll play it more conservative and take the +0 AH at 1.54 @ Bet Victor in a double with a leg from the Korean K-League. Best of luck :ok

Re: UEFA > Champions League > Tue 5th & Wed 6th August 2014 Totally agree but I will surely take these home win odds around evens. Feyenoord was so poor even at home where they normally are quite good. I expected them to do a lot better but they failed miserably. The loss of De Vrij, Indi, Pelle and Janmaat is huge, even bigger than we already thought. Still no new striker only a 19 year old winger from Heerenveen and a 32 year old full back from dinamo L.wilkshire. This game comes way too early for Feyenoord without so many important players and no new ones. They also got a new coach in Rutten. He surely needs time to build a team. Many players complained after the first leg about the board for not signing good new players in time. Everybody around the club knew for weeks these players would leave after such a WC. And now also Clasie told Feyenoord that he wants a transfer. Far from a ideal situation they play Besiktas in Turkey. One of the worst places to visit in such circumstances. Confidence can't be big after such a home loss. Besiktas is on fire in the last few months and at home they are very hard to beat. The new signings had another week to prepare for this game so I expect Besiktas to be even stronger than in the first tie. Expecting a comfortable win here. Feyenoord hardly created any chances at home, how will they handle the pressure in Turkey?! I think they will sink like a ship. Besiktas home win 7/10 odds around evens. Besiktas half/time fulltime 3/10 odds of 3.30. Goodluck!

Re: UEFA > Champions League > Tue 5th & Wed 6th August 2014 Red Bull Salzburg - Karabakh Agdam With all the attacking flair in their team, RB really struggled to break down the very defensive Karabakh Agdam in the first match. Having a 2-1, I can't see any different approach from the Azerbaijan team in the return leg. Karabakh are without defender Admir Telli due to a red card, but welcome back important captain Rashad Sadiqov. Also Red Bull Salzburg were caught on the break a number of times and I imagine they should keep one eye on defense this time as a win to nil would put them through. I see RB struggling to break down Karabakh again. The Azerbaijan team will be without probably their best forward Reynaldo, he got went off just after scoring the winning goal, and should put even more emphasis on parking the bus. HT/FT Draw/Red Bull Salzburg 5.60 Marathonbet Under 2.5 goals 3.75 Marathonbet

Re: UEFA > Champions League > Tue 5th & Wed 6th August 2014 Celtic v Legia Warszawa Celtic seem to have been priced up as if 1. They are playing at home - which they aren't and 2. As if the first game was pretty close - which it wasn't. Much has been made of Celtic's abilities at home over the years and they certainly seem to rise for the occasion but this match is being played at a neutral venue - even if it is in Scotland, and with Celtic quite likely to be eliminated I can't see the crowd making a huge difference to this. Celtic have to attack from the off, they need to win by at least 3 goals but Legia will know that if they score they are virtually certainly through. Celtic haven't invested in the team at all, players have gone and not been replaced, coupled with an injury to their best outfield player Brown and they are currently struggling. Delia has changed the formation and is playing players in positions where they aren't really comfortable, he might sort the team out but it's going to take time and a couple of transfer windows. Legia drew at the weekend but rested most of the starting XI for this game as it is significantly more important, I don't think they are a particularly good side and will probably go out in the play-offs but I wouldn't have them priced as high as they are. Berg has generally done well in their away games and it might suit them to come to Murrayfield and sit back waiting for their chance to attack, Celtic's defence was a shambles in the first game and I don't think it's likely they will keep a clean sheet especially as they are going to have to attack in numbers - they don't have a choice. Legia could easily have won the first game 6-1 if they had scored the two penalties and it's too big a swing to have them 2.76 double chance for this game, Celtic are favourites and might well win but I wouldn't have them at this price considering all the above factors. Both Teams to Score - Yes - 1.94 - betfair - 5 Points Legia +0.5AH - 2.76 - pinnacle - 2 Points I agree with the guys above regarding Besiktas and don't have much to add, Feyenoord have lost a lot of players and generally are far better at home than they are away. Demba Ba played a few minutes last week and might well start the game, he wasn't a bad striker in the Prem and knows where the goal is..wouldn't have Besiktas higher than 1.8 personally. Besiktas DNB - 1.55 - betinternet - 8 Points Besiktas - 2.1 - pinnacle - 4 Points Was right to avoid a few heavy favourites last week although I got stung by Zenit, they should go through but 1.5 for the handicap win or win to nil is too low. Salzburg disappointed again last week and I wouldn't back them in a month of Sundays.

I watched quite a bit of the first leg, and despite playing perhaps the more attractive football and seeming to have more possession, I thought Salzburg were disappointing and always vulnerable in defence. I could see any result tomorrow - even a Karabakh win. But a Salzburg win would be favourite. If Salzburg get an early lead, they will lead on aggregate, and then I can see winning by quite a few with their ability on the break. A lot depends on whether Salzburg manage the early goal or not.

Re: UEFA > Champions League > Tue 5th & Wed 6th August 2014 Partizan-Ludogorec A few words about Ludo game now. They fired Stoev a couple of days ago and hired Dermendjiev who has no much of experience.Minev(RB) and Vitinha(LB)are out but Ludo will welcome Quixada who is a good forward i think and could help in the attack.Anyhow Ludo is far from their best days which is understandable given the fact that they accomplished a lot during Stoev's period in charge. They hardly manage to score even a single goal and their attacks lack the speed they had an year ago. In the 1st round of the new season when they were on the road they lost to Haskovo(1:0) who is a newbie. In the 2nd in Varna, they drew (0:0)against Cherno more. Then in the 3rd 3:0 at home against the worst league side in my eyes Marek they won 3:0.Ludogorec easily smashed Dudelange in Bulgaria who i rate to be far from a mediocre Bulgarian football team but once away Ludo were disappointing drawing 1:1 in Luxemburg.Partizan is not the team they used to be in the past but i think they managed to get a good result against our team in the 1st leg. They could easily have scored in the 1st half but during the 2nd were totally dominated by our side.Even though the possession was 65%-35%,shots on target were 1-2.I can see this being a close game again and the draw being well on the deck again.Under 2.5 is almost a sure thing here.Even though Partizan must win in order to go through i can't see them going all guns blazing. We would sit back and waiting to hit on counter-attacks.So my call is under 2.5 here.High stakes on under 2.5 @ 1.55 and small punt on 1:0 Correct score @ 6.50 all with bet365.GL P.S Jeroen Lumu was sent off from the 1st team due to a bad discipline. This could affect the team in some way becouse he was one of the players who could score goals. He is determined to be one of the most gifted players now.A couple of years back an interest was shown by Manchester United,Chelsea,Juventus etc. but his mentality cost him his career. This is madness...

Re: UEFA > Champions League > Tue 5th & Wed 6th August 2014 Panathinaikos - Standard de Liege First leg result: 0-0. A lot of chances in first leg. I think Standard de Liege will better think about defense tonight, they'll use counter attacks. Panathinaikos will play at home, today they'll need to be 2x stronger, because fast away goal can cause them big problems. Then they'll need to score at least two goals, because of the away team away goal. Both teams to score tonight.

Re: UEFA > Champions League > Tue 5th & Wed 6th August 2014 Maccabi Tel Aviva v Maribor Could anyone shed some light on this match? The first leg ended 1-0 to Maribor. I personally don't know alot about either team but just looking a Maccabi's home record in the UCL and it is very impressive. They have played 9 homes games in the UCL (W5 D3 L1) with their only loss being a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich. Since then they have gone on to beat Ajax and held Juventus & Basel to draws, so not too shabby. Maribor on the other hand have failed to win in their last 5 away matches in the UCL. The stats look good for Maccabi but as I say, I don't have much knowledge on the teams pass the stats. Any information would be great?

Due to the Gaza war, this game won't take place in Israel, so you can count off the home advantage. They will play on a neutral pitch in Cyprus.

Re: UEFA > Champions League > Tue 5th & Wed 6th August 2014 I watched the tie between Maccabi and Santa Coloma. Maccabi has great passing game, a lot of possession, since Oscar Garcia (a Johan Cruyff man) is their coach. But their strikers looked poor, Rade Prica and Ben-Haim are weak, they did not move against Santa Coloma. Now Maccabi have signed Eden Ben Basat (former Toulouse striker) and Betis midfielder Nosa. For me, No bet game. Btw I don't know nothing about Maribor.

Maribor are normally strong at home, and poorer away, but obviously the whole home/away thing does not apply tonight as the game is being played in Cyprus. Maribor are favourites to qualify - because they didn't concede at home, and if they score one tonight, Maccabi will need three. I would have thought there will be a few goals in the game with Maribor more likely to qualify - and possibly some value on Maribor on the handicap.

Re: UEFA > Champions League > Tue 5th & Wed 6th August 2014 Malmo - Sparta Prague DRAW (3.69 at Pinnacle) I really fancy draw in this match. The quality definitely lies with Sparta and they're pretty much in the commanding position in this tie after remarkable 2nd half of 1st leg. They really have no reason to push hard in this match and under these circumstances I can see them being well satisfied with draw. Malmo still have more or less all to fight for, plus they're also a decent side, though it's really hard to see them being able to outscore Sparta with such a shaky defending.

Re: UEFA > Champions League > Tue 5th & Wed 6th August 2014 DINAMO (Z) - AaB Last weeks fixture held a good value on "Dinamo away win" @ 2.90 - AaB was clearly overestimated and set as a favourite in that match. Dinamo won, although with a healthy dose of luck. However, today there's an opposite situation. Dinamo's win is priced 1.50 - 1.55 which doesn't offer much (if any) value. From a Croat's point of view - Dinamo will qualify, Dinamo should win this game, but... AaB looks determined to play their best and they were better for some parts of last weeks match. The weather is shitty and rainy here, the pitch is far from ideal, and it will be hard for Dinamo's players to use their technical superiority and higher personal class. Dinamo will be more than happy to score one goal, knowing that they won't concede 2 from a squad that lacks class up forward. The game might be closed early, with Dinamo banking on the away win. A decent attacker Duje ?op recovered from an injury is set to make an appearance for Dinamo in the first 11.

he played last game but was so terrible in first half that mamic replaced him on the half with 18yo pjaca and they won. i dont know why do you value a one man in such teams like this he is just too unproved in cl... today ill back up dinamo because they are a better team at home and they have more tactical power but a lill agression shown might be bad for this condition of the field... nevertheless f+2 go dinamo

If you are right, under 2.5 could be good value at around 2.0 - or perhaps BTS NO at 1.9?

Just to add another bet... With Robert Vittek being back and close to full fitness(well, obviously not fully fit yet), I've decided to give a shot with Slovan Bratislava(3.80). There's no difference in class between the sides IMO. Two teams of very similar quality while in the long run Sheriff just ain't to be trusted in this sort of matches. Being 1:2 down after first leg they'll simply be forced to push forward and open up the game at some stage of the match, but generally speaking and despite a few very creative players in the team, they're still a defensive-minded side who always struggles to break the organized opponents down. Slovan have got a very good (new/old) goalkeeper this season, they're capable of keeping the match tight, plus they've got a few very skillful player who're well capable of troubling Sheriff's defense. There's no doubt that Sheriff have got what it takes to win the match, but Slovan are in great shape from the start of this season's campaign and they go into the match with lots of confidence.
If you think the value is with Sparta' date=' then isn't a better bet Sparta AH0 @ 1.78 (sbobet)?[/quote'] I didn't say that value lies with Sparta. :) They're 4:2 up after first leg, so even a narrow defeat will do a job for them. I find draw as the only valuable bet here. :)
