Austrian Darts Open 20-22 June

Recommended Posts

Darts tournaments come thick and fast for the next few months beginning with the tournament in Austria this weekend. This ET event is live on the usual bookmaker live streaming sites which helps with punting and with players warming up for the big events there should be some decent darts. Schedule, draw and format all here: http://www.pdc.tv/news/article/gktj4dtltmjk1r3h4z4ulsupe/title/austrian-darts-open-netzone

Re: Austrian Darts Open 20-22 June Tournament preview: 1pt ew K.Huybrechts to win Austrian Darts Open 40/1 BetVictor (1/2 1-2) This tournament looks a good one to get stuck into in terms of the outright market because the likes of Phil Taylor, Dave Chisnall, Michael van Gerwen, Simon Whitlock and Wes Newton are all in one half of the draw and with Barneveld having not entered and Wade not qualifying the other half of the draw looks much smoother. Gary Anderson and Robert Thornton are in the same half as Kim but not the same quarter and they would meet in a quarter final which is likely to take a bit out of the winner mentally whereas Kim would have a nicer route into the semi final albeit not easy because no draw is easy these days. We saw when Kim beat Michael van Gerwen at the World Cup recently that he's in good nick and if he has that form with him this weekend then I think he can go very close at odds which are crazy considering the big names all being in the other half of the draw.

Re: Austrian Darts Open 20-22 June Wasn't going to take anything here but been priced in on one now. 4pts C.Kist to beat V.van der Voort 5/6 Bet365 Christian Kist is going along nicely in his first season on the PDC Tour and he beat James Wade in a tournament a couple of events ago so he is playing well coming in here. Van der Voort may improve for being on the stage but his floor form going into this tournament has been questionable at best so he can't be carrying all that much confidence with him. If both men play to their best I would expect Kist to win and given that he's likely to be the more confident of the two going into the match I will take the former Lakeside champion to be too good for his fellow Dutchman in this match.

Re: Austrian Darts Open 20-22 June One for me this afternoon. 4pts B.van der Pas to beat J.Part Evs Paddy Power I'm a little surprised you can get evens on the Dutchman here. I guess those odds are being judged on his pathetic Lakeside performance but he has begun life on the PDC circuit pretty well and in the last couple of tournament weekends he has made a semi final where he has picked up wins over the likes of Kevin Painter, Michael Smith, Mervyn King and a quarter final where he once again beat Kevin Painter along with a couple of other competent players and his wins over the Huybrechts brothers in this tournament this week, Ronny in qualifying and Kim in the second round yesterday, suggests he has carried on his good form. John Part hasn't really figured in the latter stages of any tournament this year and he was fortunate Merv King had a howler in yesterday's game, that a day after Part scraped over the line against Marko Kantele on the opening day of this event. Part's power scoring isn't there at the minute and he's missing more doubles than he did in his heyday so I think this one is set up nicely for the youngster to make another quarter final.
