Qualifying Ferrari have brought upgrades to Montreal to their power unit and it seemed to be working in first practice when Fernando Alonso set the fastest time. Normal service was resumed in the afternoon when Hamilton returned to the top of the lap charts. Red Bull have made some progress but we need to see some fight from the former World Champ Sebastian Vettel, he has been so frustrated in his Red Bull its difficult to watch and his teammate Daniel Ricciardo is showing the way at the moment. Vettel needs a good grid position in qualifying tomorrow to reignite his season. Hamilton is long odds on to grab yet another pole, 2/5 with Paddy Power is the best on offer which wont see many takers. Re: Canadian Grand Prix From a betting point of view Rosberg has to be the value bet, he’s on pole and is the bigger price of the two cars set to dominate the race from start to finish. It could well be all about strategy and the race decided in the pit lane rather than on the circuit. We have had six safety cars here in 9 years so that could also be a factor? I don’t see any value in the podium betting with Vettel odds on for that role and a small bet on Jean-Eric Vergne to finish in the points might be the way to go.
