Atlético de Madrid v Chelsea > Tuesday April 22nd

Re: Atlético de Madrid v Chelsea > Tuesday April 22nd I'd love to see where this brilliant Chelsea defence is because they have kept 1 clean sheet in their last 8 away games in all competitions, and now face the most formidable and most structured/organised defence in Europe. They also just lost 2-1 at home to Sunderland, something is not quite right with Chelsea at the moment. They were terrible at the back in Paris, I don't see what has changed now that would suggest they are capable of keeping a clean sheet at Atletico.

Re: Atlético de Madrid v Chelsea > Tuesday April 22nd

Worth also noting that Matic is ineligible for the game, he is easily Chelsea's best defensive midfielder and means they might play Luiz who Mourinho doesn't trust at all, or Lampard I guess but expect Luiz will get the call. Think Chelsea lost the league tonight, can't see them coming back from this position as such Mourinho might prioritise the CL and rest players for the second leg - only guessing there though. Atletico is a bit of a freak side, I - and probably a few others - expected them to run out of steam three quarters of the way through the season (think I read that 7 of the La Liga's top 10 most used players play for Atletico) but they have continued to perform at a high level and as pointed out their home record is outstanding. This is probably going to be a tight game, Atletico will be happy with a 1-0 to take to Stamford Bridge, anything over evens looks a good price to me with Hazard, Ramieres, Ivanovic all missing and quite a few of Chelsea's attacking players out of form. Atletico - 2.1 - pinnacle - 4 Points
I added a bit on Atletico to nil as well after seeing Eto was out also, Torres will start but he doesn't want to play against Atletico where he is still held in very high esteem (obviously not been watching him for the last 5 years!), he said before the draw was made that it would be 'very hard' to play against them, I don't read too much into it but given how good Atletico's defence is and Torres's total lack of form it helps this bet out a little bit more. I might be cynical but I think Terry and Cahill might be their biggest scoring threats from set pieces, Atletico looked vulnerable in the air a few times when I have watched them recently. Atletico to win to nil - 2.75 - coral - 3 Points

Re: Atlético de Madrid v Chelsea > Tuesday April 22nd Not going to say much as the match has been explained in the posts before me. In saying that l don't like people taking in Chelsea's loss to sunderland and their poor away form in epl. Epl and cl totally different and we very well know what mourinho can do in CL. l am putting low stakes on draw and a small punt on correct score 1-1.

Re: Atlético de Madrid v Chelsea > Tuesday April 22nd I hope a game in the midfield , standing long play without rhythm. It is true that today the referee cost to paint cards but I think there are several players with many options. If there is a player who always plays to the limit and even surpasses many times he is Ramires. The brazilian is a player who likes to drop the sticks and elbows, without going too far in the last match of Chelsea nudged Larsson irrelevantly that he could and must have cost him the expulsion. Today, with all the faults that will be sure to be more than one pass and hopefully get the card. I go with a slightly higher stake than usual in terms of cards that I see is very likely. Ramires get a card at 2.65 Betsson The captain rojibanco Gabi, those entries usually do in the midfield to cut the game, as usual will take it serious and be cautioned. Gabi get a card at 2.90 Betsson Cholo Simeone knows that Chelsea with the ball can not afford to hurt the opposing teams, and I think that play similar to games he had against Real Madrid and Barcelona, tucked back and waiting for opportunities, knowing that there are sections in the that are better than the other team, averages 49% of possession in the league despite being leaders, indicating that it is not a team that loves to play the no 1. Chelsea instead average 54.5% possession in the league and although play at Calderon is in the way and try to score a goal Mourinho out alive and I think I may even have more possession than Atletico Madrid. Already won AC Milan possession in both games vs Atletico and I think Chelsea will do it too. Possession Atletico (%) Under 52.5 at 1.85 Unibet Most ball possession (3-Way) Chelsea at 2.90 Unibet

Re: Atlético de Madrid v Chelsea > Tuesday April 22nd Both coaches will give up on controlling the match. Simeone does it even against Osasuna, Mourinho does it in this kind of matches. In France Chelsea was unlucky conceding an early goal and then controlled first half. I think they are perfectly capable of doing the same. However Atlético today needs to attack, unlike the previous round that they played first leg in Barcelona. Today Simeone knows they need to score and Mourinho will be pleased enough to give Atletico the control of the match and go for the counter-attack. Ivanovic is huge blow, also Hazard, however Diego Costa wont be in the perfect shape. At first sight i would go with 0-0...but if a goal is scored in the first half this can also turn into a goal fest. Either way i think Mourinho will do another trick and get the job done, as usual....in the big games, Mourinho´s players always raises their performance to another level... The odds for Atletico are a joke...im amazed that in a forum like this, where most users look for value, most of the people are going with such low odds.. GL to all

Re: Atlético de Madrid v Chelsea > Tuesday April 22nd The most valuable price here I think is a draw. Assuming the 28% of the football matches in general ended in a draw (punters knows this stat), in the game between two defensive minded teams this probability must be at least 1/3.

odds have everything to do with value low odds have nothing to do with value, value is a personal opinion so value on any odds can be argued either way. You say Athletico are not value at their price, before the bookies priced this game up I had Athletico at 4/7 to win the first leg maximum so was amazed that you could get above evens when the markets first opened. Even at there price now they are still value to win tonight but I have them at 2.0> so will not be adding. Chelsea are going to get routed tonight against what is one of the best all round teams we have seen in Europe for some time

Heard a quote from one of the Athletico staff when asked what would they do if Chelsea just give them the ball? "Give it back" :lol Impossible game to predict for me. though I might have a small bet on Athletico on the handicap, as they should be the better team anyway ans Chelsea are missing too many key players

Re: Atlético de Madrid v Chelsea > Tuesday April 22nd Chelsea's line up was a big thing obviously. Always baffles me how people can take certain bets without seeing the teams. You may win a bit more value, but situations like tonight will always cost you.

Re: Atlético de Madrid v Chelsea > Tuesday April 22nd think chelsea's missings, particularly ivanovic and hazard, really led people to believe that atletico should at least nick a goal so really no fault with that kind of thinking, especially when atletico was priced over evens. A team that is at the top of la liga with a handful of games left cant be that bad. Turns out that atletico got mugged by the special one. When mourinho wants a 0:0, mourinho usually gets a 0:0

Re: Atlético de Madrid v Chelsea > Tuesday April 22nd Atletico was still the correct bet, don't care what anybody else says after the event. If you gave me even money on a team that had 62% possession and 26 attempts on goals every day, I'd take it happily every day. In fact, Chelsea's line up made the Atletico bet an even better bet in my opinion as they were clearly not there to try to win the game. Mourinho got his 0-0, fair play to him, but he now has to come out and try to attack an Atletico side that are extremely physical and defend really well, and I still personally make Atletico favourites to qualify.

Personally i am toying with a play on the no goalscorer as mourinho has previous for setting his teams up for a 0-0 and turning ties into one off home games. Man this thread looks similar to the man utd v bayern thread, where bayern losing was impossible Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Great call, well done Danj. :clap

On another day they would definitely score just bad luck and bad finishing while they normally are deadly. Too bad Villa came too late, garcia was terrible..

Said thi against milan, Barcelona and now chelsea..atlético is tottally overrated..Simeone is a good coach, atlético is a good team..they are not great imo

Football is not all about possession. There are different ways to create goals and perhaps you don't like it but you can't deny that Atletico are not one of the best sides in Europe at the moment.

They will probably win La Liga, and in my opinion will be in the Champions League final. Have the best defence in La Liga and in the Champions League. Completely dominated the parked bus tonight and we all know it is extremely hard to score against a side that have 10 men behind the ball. As I said, Chelsea now have to come out and attack at Stamford Bridge, THEN we'll see how good Atletico are and I'll put my neck on the line and say they will definitely get to the champions league final against a very poor Chelsea outfit. I don't see how Atletico are over-rated when they were never really rated in the first place? What they have done this season has exceeded expectations a million fold. I never said anything about Atletico being "great", I simply said Atletico at Evens was the correct bet tonight as they completely dominated and if that game was played under those circumstances 10 times, Mourinho would probably only get his 0-0 twice if he was lucky. One question: Name 3 teams in Europe better than Atletico?

I agree that Atlético is in a good shape...i never said the opposite. They are definitely one of the best teams at the moment...the only thing i say, and that seems to bother people around here is that they have been lucky and their style of playing doesn´t fit a TOP team. I said this before: i give Simeone a lot of credit for the good job...he look like Mourinho, putting the team together and getting the best of his players...the guy is amazing doing that...but the mentality of Atletico doesn´t fit a top team. Before both matches against Barcelona there were only 5 teams worst than Atlético in terms of possession...how can you explain that Granada and Celta de Vigo has more possession than Atlético???? I made a nice quid this year with them using a scoring system...but i saw a lot of matches with Atletico struggling a lot...Zenit - Atletico, Porto - Atletico, Atletico -Porto, Milan- Atletico...all lucky matches...If Milan had the luck Atletico had in Barcelona, in Madrid they would play like Chelsea, and Atletico wouldn´t probably be here anymore....in Barcelona, tremendous luck with that amazing shot by Diego...well, football is a bit about luck, but only a bit! I give credit to Simeone cause he doesn´t have a great team but achieves results like one...but usually that doesn´t last longer. IMO Bayern, Barcelona, Real, Chelsea, Juventus, Liverpool, all of those are a level above them...but as we know in football what counts is what happens in the field... Atletico can perfectly win the Champions, Porto did so in 2004...the achievement will be exactly the same: one in a million!

You totally misunderstood Aidymac's point with this reply. He's saying if you say to him a team is going to have 62% possession and 26 shots on goal at even money. He will take that bet every time it is presented to him. He said nothing about Atletico having 62% possession in their matches. It has nothing to do with Atletico. It's just a general example.

Aydi said this: If you gave me even money on a team that had 62% possession and 26 attempts on goals every day I just replied saying Atletico is to far away from that...i would be glad either to take a team that has 62% possession.. we were talking about Atletico here, so why speaking in general now?!! Anyway, im done with this...GL with your bets! Will keep following your insights closely... Cheers

But they did have that amount of possession. 67% according to Soccerway? So he's saying it's a good bet because if it happened 100 times (with any team) with these stats at evens and you backed "team A" 100 times. You would win more than lose and probably end up with a healthy profit.

Re: Atlético de Madrid v Chelsea > Tuesday April 22nd

Don't go crazy on it.Chelsea and Mourinho wouldn't be Chelsea and Mourinho if they couldn't turn things around.Tuesday's game will be totally different than the one yesterday.I agree that Hazard and especially Matic are big blows but Chelsea will give it a go.I think the only good bet here is under 2.5 goals.Atletico won't go all out attack while Chelsea will be in their own half' date='sitting and waiting.I think both teams will be delightful if Atletico win by 1 goal margin.1:0 loss suits Chelsea i think.Without their most agile wing(Hazard) and CDM(Matic) to lose by 1 goal margin in Spain it's ok.Hazard will be ready for the reversed fixture and, with L'pool unofficlally crowned as champions,The Blues can focus on CL only.Arda is back but not 100% ready. Most probably he will be benched. It will be a tight and nervous game which will be decided by a single goal i think.Under 2.5 @ 1.55 high stakes, under 1.5 @2.65 with medium to low stakes and a sporting punt on Correct Score 1:0 @ 5.50 all with bet365.Cheers!
Unlucky with the Correct Score which feel would be most fair but happy to be one of the few who came out dry from the water

. Mourinho got his 0-0' date=' fair play to him, but he now has to come out and try to attack [/quote'] Why should he has to attack? The only reason Chelsea went out and played aggresively in UK against PSG was that they lost 3:1 the first leg and Ibra wasn't there.Yesterday he got his scoreless draw and i think we might see a replay in UK.Maybe another 0:0 is on the horizon.Anyway,i don't see why he might change his mentality.Atletico Madrid is a team that always attacks and i don't see how this would be an open and entertaining game.Cheers!

Re: Atlético de Madrid v Chelsea > Tuesday April 22nd It was a stinker for me, the price was too good to turn down though, evens was too high imo. There was only one side interested in winning the game but they probably didn't have the big game nous to do it, pumping crosses in is meat and drink for Terry and Cahill, they lacked the invention required to create some really clear cut chances.
