Malgunner
Re: Ladbrokes World Championships > Ante-Post Betting I'm on Gary Anderson at 10/1 Hills.Playing superbly and his recent narrow loss to Taylor in the World Matchplay semis shows he's approaching his best again. If his doubles can match his high scoring I think he has a great chance.Has won 5 ranking tournaments this season and also narrowly lost to MVG in the premier league semis after beating him in the league stage. Jazzer Isaac
Re: Ladbrokes World Championships > Ante-Post Betting I think Adrian Lewis' poor form is slowly drifting him into backable territory. 14/1 at the moment, and I am hoping that a first round tv loss against Chizzy on Friday shifts him out even further. Lewis always appears to put bad form aside and turn up for the World's, and when he does turn up, he really turns up.
wellarmy
Re: Ladbrokes World Championships > Ante-Post Betting Adrian Lewis Outright 14/1 bet365 Looks like the time is right to get the cash on Jackpot to win his 3rd world title. He is a player that has shown inconsistent form throughout the year but he always finds his form at Ally Pally. He won in 2011 and 2012 and was beaten semi finalist last year and was unlucky to beaten in the quarter final v MVG in 2013. Last night against Chisnall he showed glimpses of what we all know he can do and in the previous tournament at Minehead in the UK open in March he was unstoppable on his way to the title. Another similar showing throughout this weekends tournament will see his World Championship odds tumble to around 8/1 so the I believe that the 14/1 on offer at the moment is outstanding value. Out of the other main candidates for World Championship glory I'd assess their chances as follows:- MVG - Went through a sticky patch in the last month or so and has been missing far too many doubles. Hard task winning the title 2 years on the trot. Taylor - I think he'll be desperate to win it and will end up putting too much pressure on himself leading to an early exit. Anderson - 2 months ago I would have said he'd of been bang in line to win but after his Grand Prix collapse, the missed doubles have crept back in to his game and he'll be punished if that trend continues. Wade - Has been playing fantastic in the last few months and has a really good chance to get his name on the title but psychologically it may be too much for him given how he collapsed when cruising the semi final 3 years ago against Lewis. Best outside chance would be Mervyn King for me. He has been there or thereabouts in most of the tv tournaments this year and even when he has not played well he has fallen over the line. At 66/1 he is good each way value.

scotty657
Re: Ladbrokes World Championships > Ante-Post Betting My bet is Mervyn King readily available at 66/1 on sportsbooks and 80/1 on the exchange. He's had a cracking year and even admitted himself it's the form of his life. Won the European Grand Prix, reached the Grand Slam semi-finals, the European Championship semis and the Edinburgh Masters final. He's very composed and can be deadly on those doubles. A right scrapper when needed too. Wright is another of interest at 40/1. His composure can be huge at a tournament like this (as we seen last year). He's not on the best of form but he can raise his game for this occasion. They're my value bets at least.

kevshat
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th Tournament preview: 2pts ew J.Wade to win PDC World Championship 16/1 Betfred (1/2 1-2) There is no doubt in my mind that James Wade has overtaken Mike Gregory as the greatest player never to have won a world title but Gregory could be getting his title back in three weeks time because Wade looks to be in fantastic form going into this tournament. Perhaps more importantly Wade looks to be in a fantastic place in himself which is half of the battle with him and he is far too good a darts player to never win this great title. He should have won it in 2012 when he surrendered that huge lead in the semi final to Lewis in amidst draughtgate but after a 2014 which has seen him demolish the field in The Masters, go well in the World Grand Prix and win two other titles Wade’s game is ready to win this tournament. He hasn’t got the easiest draw in the world but if he comes past Bunting in the second round he should make the quarter final and I’m not sure he’s for stopping from there. kevshat
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th Quarter previews: 1pt T.Jenkins to win 1st Quarter 14/1 Paddy Power Terry Jenkins has shown already this year that he doesn’t care much for van Gerwen’s reputation. He beat the Dutch star in the semi final of the UK Open in March and followed it up by beating him again in the Players Championship Finals at the start of this month. Jenkins has been in wonderful form in the major tournaments in 2014 and given that we know he can perform to a high level over long distances and we know he can beat van Gerwen he looks the standout value in this quarter at a quite frankly daft price of 14/1. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/pdc-world-championship-betting-terry-jenkins-looks-the-value-in-the-top-section 1pt C.Kist to win 2nd Quarter 33/1 Spreadex If someone can beat Gary Anderson then this quarter will be won by someone at a big price. That man could be Christian Kist. We saw in the first round in Minehead that Kist can give as good as he gets against Anderson and the fact that three of their four meetings this year have gone to a deciding leg suggests there is little between the two when they meet. Kist is a player who is a lot better in the longer matches when he can find a rhythm and if he can hit his doubles against Anderson he could be the man to come through this section at a very big price. He looks the best alternative to the two Scots here. kevshat
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th Thursday previews: 4pts K.Brown (-1.5 sets) to beat J.Part 21/20 Boylesports John Part has only won two matches on TV since the 2012 Grand Slam and one of those was a horrendously poor first round match in this tournament last year so the three time champ can’t be feeling too good about life at the minute. Keegan Brown will probably still be buzzing from his Grand Slam exploits this year and while there is a different expectation on him here I think his scoring power will see him into the next round with a bit to spare. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/part-vs-brown-betting-keegan-brown-can-prove-too-good-for-part 4pts C.Kist to beat J.Klaasen Evs Ladbrokes I think Christian Kist has to be fancied here. He is much better over the longer matches and he is without a doubt the more consistent of these two. He pushed Anderson closer than anyone in Minehead at the start of the month and you get the feeling there is a decent run in him. Klaasen is dangerous but you fancy he will miss a crucial double here or there which can cost him dearly overall. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/klaasen-vs-kist-betting-christian-kist-can-triumph-in-the-battle-of-the-lakeside-champions 4pts MVG vs J.Cullen - Over 6.5 180s 8/11 Bet365 I’ve a niggly feeling that Cullen might make this closer than it looks on paper. Their previous three meetings certainly suggests that could be the case so I’m reluctant to take MVG on any handicaps but the one thing we are usually guaranteed with the champ are 180s and with Cullen being no stranger to them either I think the better bet in this match is to take the over 6.5 180s. kevshat
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th Friday previews: 4pts A.Hamilton Over 3.5 180s Evs Spreadex Given that we don’t know exactly what to expect from Richardson I will stick with Hamilton’s 180s here. His line looks fairly low to me at 3.5 and I would expect him to cover that even in a straight sets win so any extra sets Richardson can force would be a nice little bonus. Hamilton has hit five, four and five 180s in his last three first round wins here and I’d be surprised if there isn’t four more from the Hammer here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/hamilton-vs-richardson-betting-andy-hamilton-can-hit-plenty-more-first-round-maximums 4pts P.Wright vs G.Price - Over 16.5 legs 11/10 Skybet Price has qualified for this tournament on the pro tour earnings which isn’t always the easiest thing to do so he has to be taken seriously off the back of that. Even so Wright will fancy his chances here but he may be forced to work a little harder than he would have liked. I think there will be a bit of mileage in this match so I like over 16.5 legs here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/wright-vs-price-betting-gerwyn-price-can-push-wright-closer-than-the-scot-would-like 4pts P.Taylor vs J.Artut - Under 14.5 legs 8/11 Ladbrokes Artut will give this a good go and he has nothing to lose but lose is what I expect him to do. The question is how quickly and I think the answer will be quite quickly. Taylor likes to lay a marker down in these early matches for what is to come and I think he’ll come through 3-0 and I would be surprised if he loses more than five legs in doing so. Jazzer Isaac
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th PDC World Darts Championship 2015 Day 2 22:00 Friday 19th December 2014 Phil Taylor vs Jyhan Artut – Phil Taylor over 3.5 180s @ 23/20. Tiny stake. I don't like backing 180s in set play matches due to the higher variance in number of legs. However, ever since Taylor changed his equipment for the World Matchplay in July, I have had a theory that he switches away from the treble 20 less frequently, whilst the odds offered on his 180ing haven't adjusted to reflect a change in his play. The obvious concern with this bet is that we won't get a sufficient enough number of legs. Ignoring the double-in Grand Prix, which would slightly skew the figure downwards, Taylor has averaged a maximum every 3.7 legs since the change in set-up. If it goes as the statistics suggest, we need 15 legs for the bet to win, whilst the bookies have set their total legs line at either 13.5 or 14.5 (depending on where you shop) which is fair, so Taylor will have to slightly up his 180 rate on Friday night. It's tighter than in the past few tournaments, so either a) the bookies have cottoned on, or b) my theory is false. Either way, given that Taylor is desperate to take the title this year, he will have been hammering the practise board as usual and hopefully he is zoned in on the 60 bed for this first round match. I would give the overs a smidgen under 50% chance of landing, so I'm having Betfair's 23/20 to a tiny (1 point) stake.
Fader
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th 1pts V.V.D.Voort to win Quarter 3 25/1 SportingBet Worth a small point. Van Der Voort has been good of late winning the Austrian Open and then reaching the Semi Finals of the Players Championships. He beat "The Hammer" 6-0 along the way in that tournament and that's not an easy feat and he pushed eventual winner Anderson in that tournament so he comes into this with some form unlike alot of the others in this quarter. He should beat Henderson and King in the early rounds and Whitlock is so out of form right now Id fancy him against him too. He would go into the Taylor match maybe a 6/1 dog so there is some value here and there isn't alot of outright value around for me.
Fader
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th 4pts K.Brown -1.5 to beat J.Part Eves PaddyPower 2pts K.Brown to win 3-0 3/1 SportingBet Big scoring Keegan should win this easy enough. Part just struggles nowadays when he is up there and Brown will be flying after such a fantastic tournament he had recently. He could quite easily outscore and beat Part 3-0 here so I'm taking the handicap and the 3-0 score too. If his finishing is as good as it has been, I see Brown having little to worry about. kevshat
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th Saturday afternoon previews: 4pts A.Smith to beat R.Huybrechts Evs Spreadex This will be a tricky watch because neither have smooth throws and neither are rhythm throwers so whichever way it goes you would expect it to take a while. I don’t see either winning 3-0 but when push comes to shove I think you’ve got to fancy the Pieman here. He is the one used to winning matches at the minute and he has the experience of winning on this stage so in a low key match he’s the pick. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/a-smith-vs-r-huybrechts-betting-andy-smith-can-pick-up-a-rare-tv-win 4pts L.Ryder (+2.5 sets) to beat J.Pipe 8/11 Bet365 In days gone by this would be an easy match for Pipe but I suspect that might not be the case this time around. With the World Series events hitting Australia players like Ryder are getting more and more experience on the big stages and that can be massive for them. We saw what Kyle Anderson did here last year off the back of that exposure and while I don’t think Ryder will win this match Pipe isn’t playing well enough to blow anyone away currently. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/pipe-vs-ryder-betting-first-round-match-may-not-be-plain-sailing-for-the-force 4pts A.Gilding (+1.5 sets) to beat R.Thornton Evs Betfred Robert Thornton is a worthy favourite in this match but I think this will be closer than many expect. Gilding will score with Thornton so this could well come down to who hits the doubles the best and Thornton hasn’t been as brilliant in that area of the game recently as he was earlier in the year so that gives Gilding the chance to at least be competitive if not win the match. kevshat
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th Saturday evening previews: 4pts K.Anderson to beat S.Beaton 6/5 William Hill Steve Beaton has gone a bit camera shy in recent months so if Kyle Anderson can pop his doubles to any decent percentage then you would have to think this match is there for him to win. Beaton’s record on this stage isn’t great and I always remember that match against Magnus Caris where he was woeful before the crowd finished the Swede off. Anderson won’t go that way and he’s good value here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/beaton-vs-k-anderson-betting-kyle-anderson-looks-the-value-on-saturday-night 3pts T.Jenkins to win 3-0 21/20 Boylesports Terry Jenkins lost in the first round of this tournament last year but he is in much better form this year and I don’t think he will have any problems in this match. John Weber is likely to be overawed by the occasion slightly and if that is the case Jenkins should be on easy street. In recent years Jenkins has beaten the likes of Steve Brown and Joe Cullen 3-0 and he can add the Aussie to that list. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/jenkins-vs-weber-betting-terry-jenkins-should-cruise-into-the-second-round 4pts D.Webster (+1.5 sets) to beat S.Whitlock 5/4 Spreadex I think this is a really dangerous match for the Aussie here. He isn’t in good form and Webster is like a dog snapping at your heels. He doesn’t go away without a fight and that’s probably the last thing Whitlock needed. That said Whitlock’s record here is extremely good which should give him some confidence going into the event so I’ll err on the side of safety and take Webster with the 1.5 set start. Jazzer Isaac
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th ^ Just finished writing up something almost exactly the same on the Whitlock match. PDC World Darts Championship 2015 Day 3 22:00 Saturday 20th December 2014 Simon Whitlock vs Darren Webster - Darren Webster @ 3/1. Small stake. World no. 34 Darren Webster's recent run of losses suggests differently, but to my mind he has been throwing some good darts on tv in recent months. Putting aside his match vs Jan Dekker at the Grand Slam, he has put in credible performances each time he's took to the stage lately, posting solid averages in defeat and missing match darts to beat Michael van Gerwen and Robert Thornton. I think this time that match dart could land in the double against an out of sorts Simon Whitlock. Whitlock has struggled to find form all season, with a semi-final run in July's World Matchplay a lone highlight amidst a series of disappointing results for the Australian. He finished bottom of the pile in this year's Premier League and has been knocked out in the first round of each of the last five tv tournaments. Additionally, I've noticed that Whitlock seems to struggle when he's booked to play late on a bill, and the 10pm start time on Saturday won't do him any favours if my observation is correct. Alas, Whitlock is still world no. 7 and Webster lies over £10k outside of the top 32, so the Aussie should be ending his current bad run and winning this match. Webster has averaged 92.5 on tv this year to Whitlock's 94.4, so they have been performing at a closer level than the odds would imply. I had Webster with a 30% chance of winning when the draw was initially made, and upon seeing the scheduling I increased that slightly, so I'm willing to post a small stake on Webster at the 3/1 available with Bet365, William Hill and BetVictor. Fader
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th 4pts A.Hamilton to win 3-0 (Vs D.Richardson) 15/8 Skybet I think The Hammer will regain his concentration and win this one without any problems. He is by far the more experienced here and goes into the game a big favourite. I'll be taking the 3-0 here, Richardson will find this tournament alot different to his qualifier tournament he won he won back in August. 4pts P.Wright to win 3-0 (Vs G.Price) 15/8 PaddyPower Again, runner up last year Wright should be too strong for a player not long ago more focused on Rugby. He says himself he is alittle nervous and this for him Id imagine will be like a "anything I get is a bonus" type game for him. Wright will win no doubt and I think I'll go for the 3-0 win once again here.
kevshat
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th Good shout on Wright/Price Fader :ok. Sunday afternoon previews: 4pts B.van de Pas to beat P.Nicholson Evs Paddy Power I can’t see there being a whole lot in this match but the pressure is all on Paul Nicholson here and I’m not sure he will live up to it. Van de Pas will see this as his best chance of a TV win but really Nicholson has to win this else a career which is in rapid decline will disappear off the scale. Van de Pas hasn’t got the TV form to his name this year but his floor form has been good enough and that’s enough for me. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/nicholson-vs-van-de-pas-betting-young-dutchman-can-see-off-nicholson-in-london 4pts M.Webster (-1.5 sets) to beat R.Muelenkamp 9/10 Boylesports This is a tricky game to call because neither are going well at the minute but Webby shines on this stage and I think that can inspire him to a win. In fairness he’s got a good draw here and while he hasn’t been getting many results on the floor he knows how to handle the big occasion and that can be the difference in this one. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/m-webster-vs-muelenkamp-betting-webster-can-use-former-glories-as-inspiration-on-sunday 4pts D.Winstanley (-1.5 sets) to beat W.Jones 9/10 Boylesports I think this one will be one way traffic. Jones has completely lost all of his form and it isn’t even as though he has been unlucky because he has lost some very strange matches. Winstanley looks to be getting back to his very best and most importantly here he looks comfortable on the big stage again and with his scoring back I can’t see him not winning here. kevshat
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th Sunday evening previews: 4pts M.Mansell (+1.5 sets) to beat K.Huybrechts 6/4 Spreadex I think Mansell can keep this one tight. Huybrechts hasn’t been the best on TV this year apart from the Grand Slam and I’ve long since thought he struggles a lot more when he is a clear favourite so there is plenty in the favour of the Northern Irishman here. Mansell has won the last two so he shouldn’t lack belief that he can beat Kim but given that he doesn’t win many TV matches I’ll take him on the handicap here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/k-huybrechts-vs-mansell-betting-mickey-mansell-can-push-the-hurricane-all-the-way 4pts D.Chisnall vs R.de Vreede - Over 7.5 180s 6/5 Unibet I think Dave Chisnall will win this match but you rarely get an easy ride with him so I wouldn’t be surprised if this one has more legs than it would appear on paper and the longer it goes the more 180s I think we will see. One thing about young players these days is they all plough in the 180s so I expect that to be the case with de Vreede and with Chisnall being a top 180 hitter over 7.5 looks a fair price here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/chisnall-vs-de-vreede-betting-180s-should-flow-in-this-one 4pts J.Wade to win 3-0 6/5 Skybet James Wade looks in really good touch at the minute and that has to be ominous for the young Welshie here. Lewis hasn’t won many matches recently so his confidence can’t be up to much and he’ll be under so much pressure here because he will know every chance he gets he will have to take because Wade’s finishing is so good. That leg on leg pressure can take its toll on Lewis with Wade running out a comfortable winner. Fader
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th 4pts K.Anderson to beat S.Beaton 11/10 SkyBet I'm going with Anderson here. I think much like before the Smith V Huybrechts match this one could go either way but the lack of form of Beaton and the quality Anderson has showed recently, I think he will come through here 3-1/3-2. 4pts Under 7.5 180s 4/6 Bet365 3pts D.Webster to beat S.Whitlock 2/1 BetVictor 1pt D.Webster Most 180s 12/5 Bet365 This one is a real difficult one because obviously if Whitlock is even in semi decent form he wins this 3-0 but recently he has just been shocking. Out in first round in last few tournaments and Webster has had to work hard to get here. I don't see too many 180s here as whitlock out of form and Webster not prolific in the 180 field. Also, this round we havent seen so many 180s as everyone is alittle nervous here. Just out of value I'll go 1 pt at Webster most 180s although I don't expect to see more than 5 180s

BallsforTennis
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th Obviously you guys know a bet can be under 1.75 and still be value, so would you regard over 3.5 sets Webster/Whitlock as value? I am contemplating backing the over as well the Webster ML. The only way I could lose out would be if Whitlock were to thrash him and that seems unlikely given what two of you guys have said. kevshat
Re: William Hill World Championships > December 18th - January 4th Good spell in here with Webster's win last night. Well done all. Monday previews: 4pts J.Caven Highest checkout - Over 110.5 5/6 William Hill Most lines in this match look about right but one which could be a shade on the low side is the Caven Highest Checkout line at 110.5. A feature of his TV play this year has been the big checkouts he has landed either to stay in a match or to turn it to his favour and at some point he may need one of them here. If he doesn’t he’ll be in good form so a checkout of 111 or more is well within Jabba’s range. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/caven-vs-hogg-betting-jamie-caven-can-take-out-a-big-shot-in-first-round-clash 3pts M.Suljovic to beat M.Smith 3/1 William Hill I really think Mensur Suljovic has a chance in this match. We saw Michael Smith’s mentor Gary Anderson visibly struggle against a slow player so we shouldn’t be surprised that Smith follows suit and struggles too. Suljovic has taken out van Gerwen and Wade on this stage in the past and saw off Thornton in the UK Open earlier in the year so he’s good value to win this one was well. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/m-smith-vs-suljovic-betting-mensur-suljovic-can-torture-michael-smith-on-the-big-stage 4pts R.Barneveld vs R-J.Rodriguez - Over 7.5 180s 6/5 Betway I think this might be a little closer than people think but even if it isn’t I fancy there to be a few 180s in the match. Barneveld has been scoring more 180s this year and in previous ones and Rodriguez knows his way to the 60 bed as well so this one has the look of a high scoring match about it. I think three close sets will be enough to yield eight 180s and any more than three legs certainly will so I’m on over 7.5 here.
