Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th in my view they are 3 players with better form, playing style and bigger motivation on last season tournament: - 1st is for sure O Sullivan who last year played only this event with great fifth win - 2nd is Ding with his marvel form and 4 ranking events titles - 3rd is Hawkins who plays the best snooker of carrer in last 2 years and he is finalist from previous WC. with this 3 names can reach to later phase of tournament other more players. from draw has good position selby, robertson or fu. but I belive more Bingham (vs Selby), Trump (vs Robertson) and Murphy? (vs Fu) to reach semifinals. I love Ronnies playing but I guess that he can win this hard tournament now and it is big pressure on him. so we are looking forward to great snooker and my opinion for title is from the bottom half - Trump @11 or Bingham @41 bet365 all the best ;)

Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Tournament preview: 2pts ew J.Higgins to win World Championship 20/1 Bet365 (1/2 1-2) One man who hasn’t had the season he would have liked is John Higgins but there have been plenty of signs that his form is coming back and if anyone knows how to go deep at the Crucible it is the Scot. All Higgins has lacked in recent times is a title to his name but having had a quiet season for the most part he won’t be as fatigued or as burnt out as some in this tournament and that should play to his advantage. Few have a better record than Higgins here and at 20/1 he’s a nice price to follow again this fortnight. Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Quarter previews: 1pt K.Wilson to win 2nd Quarter 40/1 Coral Kyren Wilson should be buzzing heading to the Crucible for the first time. He beat Graeme Dott in the final qualifying round on Wednesday which shows his credentials going into this tournament and he also has a win over Stephen Maguire to his name this season. In the last few seasons we’ve seen Liang Wenbo, Jamie Jones and Michael White make it to the quarter finals and there’s no reason why Wilson can’t do that and he could be the debutant who goes one step further too. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/world-championship-betting-kyren-wilson-can-surprise-the-field-in-the-second-quarter 2pts S.Maguire to win 4th Quarter 8/1 Boylesports One man who has been forgotten in this quarter is Stephen Maguire and at 8/1 he looks a huge price to come through this section. A back problem has hampered the Scot’s form in recent times but we saw at The Masters that he can compete in this company and only an inspired night from Ronnie O’Sullivan denied him in that tournament. Maguire probably hasn’t done himself justice in this tournament down the years but one positive to his recent early exits is he’ll come into this tournament as fresh as a daisy and that can assist him in a strong run. Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Saturday morning previews: 4pts R.O'Sullivan vs R.Hull - Over 13.5 frames 4/5 Skybet Robin Hull is back in the big time after a long time away and I think he is realistic to know he is unlikely to win this match, his aim will be just to give a good account of himself and I think he can do that. How many frames he’ll win is probably down to O’Sullivan himself. Given that Hull comes in here with a bit of momentum I think he can take enough frames to make sure the over 13.5 frames line is covered but little else. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/o-sullivan-vs-hull-betting-robin-hull-can-put-up-respectable-performance-on-crucible-return 4pts K.Doherty (+3.5 frames) to beat S.Bingham 19/20 Spreadex I think this will be a closer match than it perhaps looks on paper. Bingham’s form has just tailed off slightly in the last month or so while Doherty’s confidence and morale will have been rejuvenated by winning through in qualifying and he plays early enough in this tournament that the momentum he is carrying will still be with him. It wouldn’t be the greatest surprise if Doherty won this match but I’ll play safe and take him with a 3.5 frame start. Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Saturday previews: 4pts S.Murphy vs J.Cope - Over 15.5 frames 4/5 Spreadex Shaun Murphy beat Cope easily in China not so long ago but I think this will be a closer match. Cope didn’t get the best of luck in that match but he comes into this one with a few wins behind him and a bit of momentum which could be massive. Murphy is a class act and will probably win this match although his recent record here would suggest that isn’t a certainty. Whoever wins I expect it to last 16 frames. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/murphy-vs-cope-betting-jamie-cope-can-put-up-a-fight-in-sheffield 4pts S.Maguire vs R.Day - Over 16.5 frames 10/11 Coral This match really does look like one of the ties of the round and I think it will be a pretty close contest. I don’t think we’ll see a lot of safety in this match as both players like to get the balls open and make big breaks so from that point of view it should be a good match to watch. I think Maguire will shade it but I expect it to be fairly close throughout. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/maguire-vs-day-betting-one-of-the-ties-of-the-round-can-be-as-close-as-it-looks 4pts A.Carter vs X.Guodong - Over 16.5 frames 5/6 Coral I think this will be a really good match and I wouldn’t be surprised if it needs a deciding frame to separate the two. Both look in good form and both score well when they are in the balls so I don’t think it will be a long match in terms of time but I do think it will have lots of frames. Both men will know if they win this they could go a long way which should keep it tight throughout. Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Sunday previews: 4pts J.Perry (-2.5 frames) to beat J.Burnett 5/6 Coral I would imagine Jamie Burnett will be competitive for the time this match is close but the longer it goes on the more I expect Perry to pull away and I see him being a relative comfortable winner in the end. Perry has a good all round game but the key is scoring and that is what the Englishman does a lot better and that can see him safely through his opener. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/perry-vs-burnett-betting-joe-perry-can-pull-away-from-jamie-burnett-in-sheffield 4pts D.Junhui vs M.Wasley - Over 14.5 frames 10/11 BetVictor I don’t think Wasley will win this match, I doubt even he will believe he can do that but he’s coming into this week with plenty of momentum and confidence behind him and I see no reason why he can’t create a few chances for himself and take them. He will have no expectation on him unlike Ding and that can often be an advantage. Over this distance Ding should be far too good but not before we’ve gone beyond 14.5 frames. Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Monday previews: 4pts M.White (+3.5 frames) to beat M.Selby 10/11 Coral These two have only met once which was in the UK Championship a couple of seasons ago. Selby won 6-3 on that occasion and I think he’ll win this match too but Michael White is dangerous. We’ve seen Selby struggle in the early parts of tournaments all season and his record here is pretty poor for someone of his ability it has to be said. I still think the Jester will win but White can get, and take enough chances to win seven frames at least. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/selby-vs-white-betting-michael-white-can-run-selby-close-in-first-round-clash 3pts J.Higgins (-3.5 frames) to beat A.McManus 10/11 Skybet This will be a match for the purists as both have good tactical games but the difference is likely to come in the scoring parts of the match and that is where Higgins has a massive advantage. He is still a good scorer even though the odd slip in concentration slips in now and again. McManus can score but he isn’t as consistent at it as Higgins so the longer the match goes the more I expect Higgins to pull away. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/higgins-vs-mcmanus-betting-john-higgins-should-have-too-much-for-scottish-opponent 4pts R.Walden vs K.Wilson - Over 15.5 frames 10/11 BetVictor I would expect Walden’s experience to guide him through here but I wouldn’t say that it is a certainty by any means. Wilson has the talent to run Walden close and if Walden has a day where it doesn’t all go to plan he could be vulnerable. I certainly think it will be a close match than the odds suggest. I would expect this one to go deep into the second session so I like over 15.5 frames here. Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Tuesday previews: 4pts M.Fu vs M.Gould - Over 16.5 frames 5/6 Skybet I think this will be one of the matches of the first round. Fu is as solid as they come these days while Gould is scoring fantastically and should make full use of the opportunities he is given. Both love clearing the table so we should see lots of high breaks. Matches between these two are generally tight. The last three have gone to a deciding frame and while I’m not sure if this will I do think it will be 10-7 or closer. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/fu-vs-gould-betting-two-form-players-can-play-out-a-tight-one 4pts B.Hawkins vs D.Gilbert - Over 16.5 frames 11/10 Bet365 I think Hawkins will come through this match but I see no reason why Gilbert won’t keep this close. We’ve seen all tournament so far that the qualifiers are performing well because they are carrying recent momentum into the tournament with them and that is making it hard work for the seeds. I expect no different here. Gilbert is more than capable of making this close so I like over 16.5 frames in this one. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/hawkins-vs-gilbert-betting-barry-hawkins-can-be-pushed-close-by-gilbert 4pts J.Trump (-3.5 frames) to beat T.Ford 4/5 Skybet I expect Trump to come through this match. Ford doesn’t have a good enough tactical game to stop Trump getting chances and while Ford may get the odd chance to score himself I don’t think he’ll get anywhere near enough to keep this match too close. I would expect Trump to come out of the blocks quickly and complete a pretty comfortable win. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/trump-vs-ford-betting-judd-trump-can-ease-through-sheffield-opener 4pts M.Allen vs M.Holt - Over 16.5 frames Evs Paddy Power I see no reason why this won’t be a tight game. Holt is one of the more capable qualifiers and nobody will have wanted to have drawn him really. Allen has a poor record in this tournament so it isn’t a certainty that he’ll come through this and even if he does I expect him to be put through the ringer on the way to that win. This just looks close to me on paper so I like over 16.5 frames here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/allen-vs-holt-betting-this-one-could-be-another-crucible-cracker

Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Wednesday previews: 4pts N.Robertson (-4.5 frames) to beat R.Williams 7/10 Boylesports Williams has done fantastically to come through to this stage but while he shouldn’t be written off I don’t think he’ll have the consistency to beat the Australian. These two met in the UK Championship and Robertson was a fairly one sided winner and I would imagine this will be similar. Robertson is scoring so well this season that any chances Williams gives him are likely to be taken so with that in mind I expect Robertson to reach 10 before Williams goes beyond five. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/robertson-vs-williams-betting-robertson-can-replicate-his-uk-win-over-williams 4pts D.Dale to beat M.Davis 13/8 Betfred When the draw came out this was one of the matches where I fancied the outsider and I still fancy Dale in this match. Davis hasn’t been in good form for a while and having done well to qualify for this tournament Dale is almost freerolling now, even more so having already won a tournament this year even if it was only the Shootout. Davis isn’t always the best under pressure so Dale looks a touch big to me here. Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Thursday previews: 5pts M.Selby (-1.5 frames) to beat A.Carter 8/11 William Hill For a session or two I would expect this to be a decent match but when push comes to shove I expect Selby to grind Carter down and come through this one with a bit in hand. Carter is likely to start strongly but I can’t see him winning many frames that go scrappy and I’m not sure he’ll get the chances to win enough frames in one visit. Selby can win both ways so I like him here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/selby-vs-carter-betting-mark-selby-can-prove-a-bit-too-strong-for-carter 4pts R.O'Sullivan (-5.5 frames) to beat J.Perry 10/11 Betfred You’ve got to feel Perry is up against it here. He has taken a grand total of one frame out of O’Sullivan in their last three meetings and while you would expect him to win a few more than one frame here I don’t think he’ll take this match too deep. The longer this match goes the better O’Sullivan is likely to get so I find it hard to see Perry going with him. Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Friday previews: 4pts B.Hawkins (-1.5 frames) to beat R.Walden 4/5 Skybet I think Barry Hawkins will have too much for Walden here. He won their semi final last year comfortably enough and he was in command in their meeting in the Masters before failing to get the job done but we’ve seen him run through the finishing line in matches recently which gives hope that he will finish Walden off with more than a bit in hand here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/hawkins-vs-walden-betting-barry-hawkins-can-be-too-strong-for-walden 4pts A.McManus to beat K.Doherty 8/11 Ladbrokes I like McManus here. He has a good record against Doherty and he played better in the first round to boot. McManus was very much focused after beating Higgins whereas you could see what Doherty’s win meant to him. I think by and large McManus has been in better form of the two over the course of the season so all things being equal he can come through here. Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Currently the Dale v Wasley match throws us a few arb opportunities although liquidity still low on the exchanges. Coral go 2.38 Wasley, currently 2.26/2.36 on Betfair - I would imagine his price will start 2.2-2.25. There is a small arb opportunity with Stan James and Ladbrokes - backing Dale -1.5 frames at Ladbrokes @ 2.10 and Wasley +1.5 at Stan James @ 2.00. Aside from those opportunities, I believe there is value in just backing Wasley at anything bigger than 2.1 (11/10) to win the match. His result in the first round was hugely impressive and although Dale looked solid enough, the opponents were worlds apart. I believe Wasley will be at ease and actually fancy himself in this one after dispatching Ding. I fancy him too and at 2.38 with Coral, it represents big value for me. 1pt M. Wasley to beat D. Dale @ 2.38 Coral, next best 2.30 William Hill

Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Saturday previews: 4pts R.Day (+3.5 frames) to beat J.Trump 4/5 Coral I’m not convinced Trump is playing well enough to win this match but by the same token I’ve learnt the hard way in the past that he isn’t one to take on in this place. At the very least I expect Day to make double figures in this match and if Trump doesn’t improve then I would expect the Welshman to win. The odds on Day with a 3.5 start are just too good to refuse in this one though. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/trump-vs-day-betting-ryan-day-should-give-trump-problems-in-sheffield 6pts D.Dale to beat M.Wasley 3/4 Unibet I really like Dale here. He was solid as a rock in his opening win and with all the attention Wasley has had in recent days it will be hard for him to have focused on preparing for this match. We saw much the same with Dechawat Poomjaeng last year after his excellent win over Stephen Maguire. He went into the next round on a high and was walloped 13-3 by Michael White. Whether Dale will win this as comfortably remains to be seen but I do believe he will win a shade cosily. Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Sunday previews: 4pts S.Murphy vs M.Fu - Over 22.5 frames 11/10 Skybet These two are both playing well and look well matched so I’m looking forward to a good, tight match here. Fu looked very good in the first round while Murphy is very much a runner for this tournament so both will believe they can win which should make it very competitive with no quarter given. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this one goes 4-4 and then 8-8 but when it is won I expect both to have double figures next to their names. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/murphy-vs-fu-betting-two-form-players-look-well-matched 4pts N.Robertson (-2.5 frames) to beat M.Allen 17/20 Boylesports Neil Robertson looked very good in the first round and off the back of a brilliant season he is very much a contender for this title. Allen will need to improve just to stay close to the Australian let alone beat him but he has that in his locker. If Allen plays his best snooker we’re in for a classic but the way Robertson is scoring I expect that pressure to tell on Allen eventually and Robertson should be a fairly comfortable winner. Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Yeah my outright picks were early on in this thread. None made it past the first round sadly but usually I get a run for my money with them and get a fair share of returns from them. Early Tuesday preview: 4pts M.Selby vs A.McManus - Over 20.5 frames 5/6 Coral It would be a big surprise if Mark Selby were not to win this match but I think he might well be taken closer than he would like. McManus is playing well in this event and he’s taking full use of the chances that come his way as well. If we factor in that he’ll hold his own in the scrappy frames before winning a few in one visit I certainly think there are eight frames in him if not a few more. Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Rest of the QF previews: 4pts B.Hawkins (-2.5 frames) to beat D.Dale 7/10 Boylesports Both these men can play a lot better than they have so far in this tournament but I think that is a good thing for Barry Hawkins and I expect him to come through here with a bit to spare. Dale has had a nice draw but I wouldn’t say he’s played great snooker so far, he’s just done enough. At times Hawkins has played well in this event and that coupled with his experience particularly of last year can help him massively here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/hawkins-vs-dale-betting-barry-hawkins-can-move-into-another-crucible-semi 4pts N.Robertson vs J.Trump - Over 21.5 frames 3/4 Coral I would be a little surprised if Trump wins this match such is the quality of snooker that Robertson is producing right now but I fancy the Englishman to make a match of this. These two have met in three two session matches in the past and Trump has won the three 10-8, 9-7 and 10-8 which shows the two are pretty closely matched. With that in mind I think this one will be 13-9 or closer when the final ball is potted. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/trump-vs-robertson-betting-pick-of-the-quarter-finals-can-be-close-throughout 4pts R.O'Sullivan vs S.Murphy - Over 20.5 frames 10/11 Stan James This has all the makings of being another classic. Murphy has never feared anyone including O’Sullivan he just hasn’t always been playing well enough to beat him but he’s in the form of his life at the minute so I expect him to really lay it down to the Rocket in this match. O’Sullivan loves a battle these days and it often brings out his best snooker so I expect this to be a high quality, largely close match. Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th SF previews: 4pts R.O'Sullivan vs B.Hawkins - Over 26.5 frames 3/4 Coral It remains to be seen how close Hawkins will get to O’Sullivan in this match but he is generally a much better player from behind than he is when he’s in front as he showed in the previous round so that should stand him in good stead. I would be surprised if he doesn’t make double figures so the total frames line at 26.5 looks a touch on the low side should Hawkins convert the chances he gets. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/o-sullivan-vs-hawkins-betting-repeat-of-2013-final-can-see-more-than-26-frames 4pts M.Selby vs N.Robertson - Over 29 frames Evs Ladbrokes I think this will be a belting semi final. The two met in the UK Championship final earlier in the season and that was an excellent match and with both looking to be in good form in this tournament I expect this to be equally as good. I think Selby might have the upper hand early on but I expect Robertson to come roaring back and when this one is done I expect it to have gone at least 30 frames. Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Final preview: 4pts R.O'Sullivan vs M.Selby - Over 30.5 frames Evs Stan James I think we’re in for a fantastic final. If anyone is going to bring the best out of O’Sullivan and push him all the way it is going to be Mark Selby and you can just tell the Jester is bang up for this one. He is playing his best snooker of the year in this tournament which is how it should be and although I think O’Sullivan will show his class and quality I don’t think he’ll shift Selby until deep into the final session. Re: World Championships > April 19th - May 5th Hi KevShat, really enjoyed reading your previews throughout the tournament so thanks for those. I would like to ask will you be posting your p/l after the final based on all advised bets throughout the tournament? If not, I will go through and compute myself but I thought I would ask and potentially save myself a job ;)
