Challenge

Hi all, I'm new here and thought I'd post a challenge to keep me motivated as well as giving me somewhere to record my progress. I'm grinding the 10c 360 man turbos at them minute. I put $25 dollers in pokerstars 2 weeks ago, played a little cash, was up and down tbh. Started to played the turbos because I had over 100 bi's and $6 for 10c isn't a bad return for binking one, I know it's micro stakes and progress may be slow but I get a lot of table time and it doesn't cost too much if I tilt. I was down to $17 and then I won one and I've just won another now so I'm on $28.46. The plan is to grind up the levels up to the 25c. 50c etc. And learn to deal with tilt/variance as cheap as possible. Eventually I'll start doing proper mtt's. Tried a few of the 50c 500 cap and did ok got a few small cashes. Sent from my C5303 using Tapatalk

Re: Challenge I've played around 30 today and felt like pokerstars was raping me. Every bad beat you can think of, sets into runner runner straights, 22 calling a massive raise with kk and hitting a set, weird two pair cards like 93o. Crazy it's been bad but this has been the worst, but the good news is I finally won one through sheer perseverance. Ran very well was in God mode on the final table but had 1 or 2 hairy moments. I'm going to play a few more tonight so if I can hit a few more final tables. Sent from my C5303 using Tapatalk

Re: Challenge They are a crapshoot at times, had aa, raised to 400 was called, raised the flop for 500, got called moved all in he had a set of 5s hit it on the turn. Next game ducked out of a few hands duets scary boards, pushed all in with a7h got called, 4 spades on the board so busted. Playing one more, then I'm off Sent from my C5303 using Tapatalk

Re: Challenge :welcome to Punters Lounge Good Luck with this challenge , hope see you around this site some more. 44 is in dodgy spot on that board even against any overs , you can just fold pre-flop your odd's for set-mining are no where need good enough even when you push boards like this as well.

Re: Challenge Cheers, I'll be around in the poker section and I'll probably post I'm the football betting section. It's going to be tough grinding out the micros as people like a gamble. I do feel as though I have a slight edge in post flop play (forget above example lol). A lot of people at this level are shoving with any decent hand and if I can get the cards on the table I can double/triple up when I hit. Looking forward to challenging myself at a higher level one day and hopefully taking down a mtt Sent from my C5303 using Tapatalk

Re: Challenge Played a few games today not got over 4000 chips yet. Had 2 hands where people hit 4 outers on the river and had my aces cracked by tens. Going to do another 20 or so today try to at least make 1 final table, hoping I can win one every 2 or 3 days and move up in a few weeks. Sent from my C5303 using Tapatalk

Re: Challenge Down too $25.66 and going to have a little break, other than the win last night these last two days have been extremely brutal. Not hit on flush, straight or full house but had been hit by plenty. Had aa, qq, jj, 1010 cracked several times and everyone seems to be hitting there hands against me. The last 2 week I've been cashing a few times a day and hitting the odd final table but today got no where near I think I had 5000 chips once. I've even layed down better hands because people have been hitting straights and sets so often I've been playing a little scared especially on the river. Going to have a look through the hand history I've requested throughout the day, have tilted a few times but becoming very thick skinned against bad beats because they are happening so often. Re: Challenge epavy9aj.jpg Hit another final table ran 44 into 99. Villan had a 300 k stack and went down to 100 k ran 44 into 99 he was shoving everything thought it was worth a try. Tried to take someone out with kk and they called with 22 and hit a set. Second time that's happened recently lol

Re: Challenge I was getting hammered on the river and people were hitting there straights and flushes, I sometimes start playing a little scared. That was just an example of how a lot of hands have been going, there was one where I had aj some guy had a2 and kept calling and hit his 2 on the river, many hands, the last two days have been the worst for suckouts. detasyba.jpg I've been running a lot better today, had aa and kk cracked a few times at pivotal stages by 22 and 33. But powered through and got a few finishes at 15th and 17th with a mi lb cash. Then I've just binked one, was quite tough, built a decent chip lead of about 60k and then started swinging up and down. I was a lot more patient this time and had to get lucky at times but it feels good dealing a few suckouts when you've been smashed all day. Final table was a lot of fun, lots of swings and all ins being survived by the shorter stacks. *********** # 39 ************** PokerStars Hand #113878361136: Tournament #886713632, $0.09+$0.01 USD Hold'em No Limit - Level XXIX (5000/10000) - 2014/03/26 17:22:36 ET Table '886713632 9' 9-max Seat #2 is the button Seat 1: i are paul (74557 in chips) Seat 2: Milibus1725 (35584 in chips) Seat 3: Anatolko333 (16433 in chips) Seat 4: sirental (80265 in chips) Seat 5: badboy058 (158874 in chips) Seat 6: mr.november7 (31604 in chips) Seat 7: Rando119 (26302 in chips) Seat 8: Raffilito94 (71862 in chips) Seat 9: oleon51 (44519 in chips) i are paul: posts the ante 1000 Milibus1725: posts the ante 1000 Anatolko333: posts the ante 1000 sirental: posts the ante 1000 badboy058: posts the ante 1000 mr.november7: posts the ante 1000 Rando119: posts the ante 1000 Raffilito94: posts the ante 1000 oleon51: posts the ante 1000 Anatolko333: posts small blind 5000 sirental: posts big blind 10000 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to sirental [Kc Jd] badboy058: folds mr.november7: folds Rando119: folds Raffilito94: folds oleon51: raises 10000 to 20000 i are paul: folds Milibus1725: folds Anatolko333: calls 10433 and is all-in sirental: calls 10000 *** FLOP *** [3s 8d Th] sirental: bets 30000 oleon51: calls 23519 and is all-in Uncalled bet (6481) returned to sirental *** TURN *** [3s 8d Th] [8c] *** RIVER *** [3s 8d Th 8c] [5c] *** SHOW DOWN *** sirental: shows [Kc Jd] (a pair of Eights) oleon51: shows [Ah 9s] (a pair of Eights - Ace kicker) oleon51 collected 56172 from side pot Anatolko333: shows [Ks 7c] (a pair of Eights - lower kicker) oleon51 collected 55299 from main pot Anatolko333 finished the tournament in 9th place and received $0.61. *** SUMMARY *** Total pot 111471 Main pot 55299. Re: Challenge Been another very frustrating day, I've tried to bluff a few times and been called to be beaten by nothing but overcards, had big pairs and ran into sets or overcards on the board. Played a k\q\j and the flops come out all baby cards. Played mid suited connectors and aqj's come out on the flop. Made a massive raise with aq was called by 2 people flop came 552, checked to me thought they'd have ax kq etc, so shoved guy called had 22 (keep running into sets of 2's) Shoved next had cos i only had 500 or so chips called by same guy who hit a set of 6s. Would of only hit 2 sets all day but each time someone's shoved and there's been 3 or 4 callers, so I folded as I figured I'm dominated only to see suited rags and 6 gappers. Very character building, played around 30 games, so around the $30 mark. Not been within a sniff of them money once, when I first started I'd get some piddly cashes so I'd get to play a few more games for my doller. It's so tilting to see everyone else's premium cards hold up, but when you get some your cracked by rags or completely miss the flop. Been short stacked a lot and have to open my range up but barely won a coin flip. Hopefully this weekend I can win a few and get the bankroll boosted and get a little closer to the 25c sngs. Why can't you meet some of these micro limit tourney players at the cash tables. Sent from my C5303 using Tapatalk

Re: Challenge AK is a no brainer , you have less than 6 BB and got in well ahead you should have no complaints on your play but your opponents is priced in so just standard hand. and also 88 hand your opponent has a monster stack and is priced in to call with any two , I'm assuming you lost a bigger pot just before and weren't holding on. Also might I suggest that you have over 100BI's for the 25c 90 Mans or 45 Mans , if you have plenty of time to play and you like to play a patient game they have a regular structure instead of the turbo 10c games your playing , if doesnt work out well you can always go back to the 360Man 10c

Re: Challenge Still running into idiots though had my queens cracked by j2 o. I hate 2s it's my unlucky number. Got another 3rd place in the 10c tourney with game me a few dollers. Played a few 25c, got knocked out near the bubble 3 times, once mentioned above and twice running into sets. Sent from my C5303 using Tapatalk

Re: Challenge Not really played much over the weekend. Had a few games today, been playing the 25c games had s set of queens and ajs 2 pair cracked by runner runner flushes. Very frustrating, but I feel at this level you only need to be around 5\6000 chips to make it in the money. I've been close a few times with 2000. Going to stay with the 25c for a few dollers see if I can hit a few cashes. I've adjusted quite well from playing the Turbos, at first I was played a few too many hands, which is alright if they are hitting. Not going tomulti table yet till I start playing more consistently you get a few maniacs but quite a few of the players are surprisingly nitty which I wasn't expecting so I've had to tighten up a little and pay more attention to position. Re: Challenge As they are Full Ring you could try just 2 tables and tile next to each other , find it better for cocentration as 1 can be fairly slow but only had in tables when your more comfortable. But your right in these games tight is right more often than not as even though only 90 players takes ove 3hrs to close one out Good Luck do you use HEM or PT ?

Re: Challenge No, don't use a hud playing on a tablet at the moment, would it be worth it to use one at such small stakes?? I did use try one out a few years back but I stopped playing online and started playing the local games round my area instead. . I do feel confident I can beat this level as the players can be quite nitty but I still get called with rags so in the long run I should be able yo capitalize on these errors, the majority of times I go out I'm ahead pre flop. Re: Challenge Played 2 more games after the implosion. Busted out in 14th, was short stacked pretty much game. Hovered around 3000, managed to steal a few blinds and take down some small pots. Ended up shoving kq into jj. Played another, pretty much same story, had a decent stack at one point but ran pair of kings into aces and hit a k high flush, but he had the a of clubs, got kk tried to double up buy other guy had kk. A few hands later the guy ran ak into ak. This is the last hand I played, darius was raising 600 every hand for a few orbits, thought he might of been raising with any old shite. Figured he had some suited connectors, maybe a smaller pair as 2 aces came out. He had showed quite a few at show downs.
