Europa League > Thursday March 20th

Re: Europa League > Thursday March 20th I'd be worried about Benfica. On paper they should win and they showed in the 1st leg they are better than Tottenham. However I worry about a team that doesn't need to win and can just turn up with their 2nd XI (which they played a lot of in the 1st leg) and just go through the motions, leading to a 0-0 or 1-1 type of score line.

Re: Europa League > Thursday March 20th Check the line-up around 18:00 and we will know if benfica will field a decent sqaud. Signs are good, they are taking this game serious in front of their fans and Tottenham will surely line-up a lot of subs or worse so don't think this is an advantage. Benfica are the likely winners, tottenham showed nothing so far and are really toothless upfront now even without adebayor.

Re: Europa League > Thursday March 20th Fiorentina vs Juventus Yellow Cards Handicap (team with most yellow cards with handicap) Fiorentina (0) at 2.05 Marathonbet Head to head : 14.03.14 Juventus - Fiorentina 0:2 (0:0) 09.03.14 Juventus - Fiorentina 2:4 (1:0) 20.10.13 Fiorentina - Juventus 3:6 (2:2) 09.02.13 Juventus - Fiorentina 2:3 (0:0) 25.09.12 Fiorentina - Juventus 3:1 (2:0) 17.03.12 Fiorentina - Juventus 1:1 (1:1) 25.10.11 Juventus - Fiorentina 1:3 (0:0) 17.04.11 Fiorentina - Juventus 0:1 (0:0) 27.11.10 Juventus - Fiorentina 3:2 (1:0) 06.03.10 Fiorentina - Juventus 0:3 (0:1) As we have already noted , 1st leg ended 1-1 draw , but were not told that in that match was shown 2 Yellow Cards and both were shown Fiorentina players - 20 fouls against 16 fouls Juve. Generally , if you take the last 10 full-time fights , in 4 cases more cards give players of Juventus. Moreover, in the last 7 games only once the "Old Lady " won against "violets" in the dispute over the number of cartons in the remaining 6 matches stably Fiorentina won by the number of YC. As you can see , the statistics of the last matches on our side. I want to stay here on anything. Juventus coach Antonio Conte has publicly declared that the club tasked with victory in this tournament, so the club very seriously suitable to today's away match , especially because of the first game makes Juve go on the attack and score. The task assigned to Antonio Conte , understandable , since Juventus in Serie A confident leader , ahead of closest pursuer Roma on 14 points, and is likely to once again win the "Scudetto". And, for example , want Fiorentina 0-0 , with this bill hosts go further. Give statistics. Fiorentina players in 9 games Europa League got 21 YC (an average of 2.33 per match - 5th record in tournament rudeness) and fouls 108 times (exactly 12 fouls per game). As for Juventus , the club played in the Champions League in the fall , where in six matches in the group round only 9 yellow cards (an average of 1.50 per match). Juventus today will be more likely to hold the ball , as they have to go on the attack and regain missed goal in his field. Based on the situation in the opposition , the above statistics and tournament statistics last intramural fights, believe that Fiorentina , despite the fact that playing on home ground , will often break the rules, and thus get more yellow cards in today's match.

Re: Europa League > Thursday March 20th Plzen - Lyon Practically impossible to catch the Czechs in the game for the passage to the next round , but show tenacity and dignity in the eyes of their fans , which is typical for Victoria , it is quite a force. I have no doubt that the Dusan Uhryn side do everything possible that would achieve a positive result. First of all, a few words about Victoria. Initially, the Champions League group stage modest Czech club was considered an obvious outsider. On the background of such giants of world football as Bavaria and Man City this is so and looked. Besides CSKA predicted third place, but Victoria was lucky Russian champion was in deep crisis , and this took the Czech club. Nevertheless, Victoria pretty nice team , with well- attacking game. Take Shakhtar, though , part luck , but nevertheless, the fact on the face and let the failure of the first game with Lyon, as a consequence of incorrectly chosen tactics and underestimating their capabilities, just shows once again attacking potential of the team , without the bus at the gate. No, the bus was still against the miners in Donetsk leading the score (2-0), and according to the situation efficiently. In today's match play more defensively Lyon , two days away game in the domestic league France vs Guingamp , loss of points, then getting into the European Cup zone increased to 6 points, plus Saint Etienne rather a 3 points against Sochaux take and it is an additional separation from Lyon , a total of 7-9 points separation from 4 leaders and not for the better. Therefore , Lyon initially played competently by distributing forces on two fronts. So do not wait another aggression from the French , and most likely will create attack hosts until questioned by the outcome of the confrontation. Put on the corner of Victoria. The team takes a lot , and only in the confrontation with the miners did not went on these statistics , thanks to the miners , and the current situation. Nevertheless, the Czechs have filed 5 in Lyon in the first game , 6 - corner Bayern Munchen , 13 - corner CSKA and 11 to Man City , so it is able to break through and the total of today's match. The same could Chernomorets beat Lyon in Odessa (7:2) , already in the return game , losing with a minimum score , yet 6 - corners at the gates of Lyon filed. What prevents more experienced participants in European competition than Odessa submit their angular 6-7 in today's match ? Thinking Victoria is quite a force , and put it on. Re: Europa League > Thursday March 20th

A few rested by Benfica.
The players coming in are very good though showcasing Benfica's strength a depth. Salvio was alongside Matic as Benfica's best player last season before a long injury lay off and Sulejemani, Amorim and Andre Gomes are also talented players, the latter being one of Portugal's top young prospects. Benfica have their first team defence playing and with Tottenham lacking quality going forward as well as a number of players out of position at the back Benfica should win. 1.6 looks too short now but the PP Enchanced Double of Benfica and Napoli at 7/2 looks great value considering Napoli's strength at home and how poor Porto have been this season especially away from home. Max Stake is low but every little helps. :ok

Just watching the previous statements of the two coaches expect to see a great game. Betis at home this season, is a set of over trend in corners, beating our line in 10 of the 14 games in Benito Villamarin. Sevilla away meanwhile, also launches many corners, with the same data as Betis (10 of 14 in away games). Over 10.5 Corners at 1.90 Bet365 ---------------- Betis - Sevilla Disciplinary Will Damien Perquis get a yellow card? Yes at 1.90 Betsson Perquis I think is one of the most unstable players now. A defender capable of the best and the worst. There are several ways to reach the card in the game today this player. The first is that he will have to defend two players with great mobility as Gameiro and Bacca, that's where most suffers Perquis, and some against, shot into space, or 1-on-1 can make a foul.

Re: Europa League > Thursday March 20th Will do my in-play at HT as I see the games. I expect Victoria to react and go forward with pride. Usually works both ways, and that will also leave spaces for Lyon. Over 2,5 Goals at 2,10. With Benfica I am taking the same bet, risky as it looks, still much tastier at 2,25 by HT, than the original odds. I see Benfica scoring a second and slowing down, but I also expect Markovic to replace some of the attacking players and score ( again ) - the guy is really hungry for goals, and a regular place. Over 2,5 Goals at 2,25. GL all

Got more powder for the Salzburg game where I am on Over 2,5 and Over 3,5 Goals. Both bets won, although I ''read'' the game in Lisbon the other way around. Lots of luck everyone!

Re: Europa League > Thursday March 20th

Benfica v Spurs I watched the 1-3 game and Spurs were terrible. Benfica took them to pieces. Amazingly Spurs don't have one Summer buy that has been a great success. I don't know if AVB is solely to blame, but it is an assembled squad that has failed to gel. Stop Adebayor from scoring and there is just no goal threat. Benfica are showing unreal league form and it is carrying over to their Europe league form. They have 9 wins in 11 home games. They have scored 20 and conceded just 5 goals. They have 7 clean sheets in 8 home games. they are under 2.5 goals in 8 of their last 9 home games. I am not sure you can take the HW bet here. It could backfire similar to Dortmund last night, because the home team don't need to do to much to go through. With this lack of motivation (for home side to win), I think they will set up to just control the tempo and game. They have more than enough skill and ability to completely nullify Spurs. I see Spurs huffing and puffing all night and not doing much. Under 2.5 goals for me at odds of 2.08 BET365 2 units Fiorentina v Juventus Fiorentina have scored in evey home league game this season bar 1. Juventus have scored in every away games this season. The last meeting in the league finished 4-2 (I think Juventus were 0-2 up ?) At 1-1 there is all to play for in this second leg and I expect goals and both teams to score here BTTS is 1.8 on bet365 for 2 units over 2.5 goals is 2 on BET365 for 2 units Napoli v Porto Again I don't see many goals in this game. Napoli are firing blanks at the moment . 4 of their last 5 home league games have been under, and in three of these games they managed only one goals 2 of these games were against poor opposition (Genoa and CHievo). Porto are also finding goals tough to come by. I just can't see either of these evenly matched teams running away with it, or having a goal bonanza night. Tight game that goes under 2.5 goals. Under 2.5 goals at odds of 1.85 bet365 for 2 units Happy to take Napoli Under * Porto Under * Fiorentina over 2.5 at 6 to 1 for 3 units which is my bet for the evening.
Just missing the napoli leg for all three wrong. May as well put all the shiet in one basket:(

Re: Europa League > Thursday March 20th Anyone who wants reminding about why it's never a good idea to bet on the Europa League should look at the games tonight...What were Basel to win when they were down to 10 men and a goal down!? 40/1? currently 2-1 up at the time of writing..

Re: Europa League > Thursday March 20th

Salzburg v Basel (Score from first leg: 0-0) The reports and statistics suggest Salzburg dominated the first leg, but couldn't score. They tend to be more confident and attack-minded at home, and I think if they play to their normal standard they should win. If they do take the lead in the first half, I could imagine them winning by a few goals, and I think the handicap odds are fairly attractive. Basel seem to have defended quite effectively in the first game, but can they keep it up for another 90 minutes? They might well try for an away goal themselves, which I think will suit Salzburg's attacking style. Of course, if Basel DO score, Salzburg need to outscore them, because a score-draw would put Basel through on away goals, but I think Salzburg should be capable of scoring a few here. Salzburg -1.5 2.12 Pinnacle Stake: 5 points
Result: Salzburg 1 Basel 2 Bet lost I saw quite a bit of an eventful game, deservedly won by Basel. The game was held up twice in the first half when Basel supporters threw objects at the Salzburg players. Salzburg were already leading 1-0 and Basel were down to 10 men. When play resumed, Basel had quite a few chances to level before half time, but it was 1-0 at the break. In the second half, Basel basically outfought Salzburg and managed to score two goals despite being a man short and facing a technically superior side. I think the pressure may have been a factor, Basel being written off - and losing - and down to 10 men. Everyone expecting Salzburg to win easily. Basel do I think have much more experienced players and that probably helped. Salzburg faded badly in the second half.

I 'politely' disagree :). Just because something is unpredictable doesn't mean you shouldn't bet on it, you just have to better than most of the market at judging the odds and finding good value bets. The other day, I heard a recording of a radio interview with a professional horse racing gambler - Patrick Veitch. He said the key wasn't finding winners, it was finding horses which were "most underestimated". The interview is at about 21m 45 here ... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00jwpd4

Sounds good, but another important thing is that somehow most of us got carried away a bit the the great games this talented team produced earlier in the competition ( RB Salzburg ), and many of us forgot what trouble Basel were to bigger clubs - Spurs, not to mention Chelsea on more than one ocassion, and that - after selling their top player from last season. We also forgot that Basel had important missings vs Salzburg in the first leg, never mind the defenders - a powerful forward like Streller had great influence on the game today. Personally I am disappointed - I avoided a loss today with them simply as my bet was on goals, but I really enjoyed much of what I have seen from Salzburg in the past 2 seasons, and I wanted to see them through. Hats off to Basel for the good game, hopefully more luck ( possibly in CL ) to Salzburg next year...
