Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 3-6 Aldershot, Havant and Dartford are waiting until tomorrow to see what the chances are of getting the Havant/Shots Trophy game on. There's a reasonable chance it will be on, I guess, as there is not much more rain about until midweek. If it's called off tomorrow, Aldershot will visit Dartford for the league game.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 3-6 Boston United away at Histon (7/6 Marathon) On the back of some great home form (20 scored in the last five, including a goalless draw), I think Boston have decent momentum going into this. Histon have been improving but have to reshuffle things with Remy Clerima's departure and they have just one win in six at home. It's a good week for Boston to be meeting them, I think. Stockport County at home to Vauxhall Motors (Evs Marathon) Although Shaun Tuck has perked up the Motors attack, I still think they are vulnerable to sides that attack them. Stockport have steadied the ship with one defeat in seven and have been better at home. Barrow away at Oxford City (7/4 Ladbrokes) Oxford City have been looking a touch better at home since December but they've lost the last two, and the improvement at Barrow has been even more marked - there is a touch of value in the price about the visitors. Given that Barrow are eight undefeated, and that City looked vulnerable to Solihull and Ferriby, Barrow could have some joy by keeping it tight and taking the chance or two that will come their way.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 3-6 Leiston away at Bury Town (21/10 Marathon) With successive away wins at Canvey and Wingate & Finchley Leiston are having a chirpy second-half to the season after a terrible start. It's a good time to oppose Bury, who were unimpressive last time out at home against a depleted Grays and rolled over limply at Wealdstone - you can't really blame them, given the small, stretched squad they have been working with for the past six weeks or so. Tom Bullard's suspension starts tomorrow, and the loanees they have lined up to come in look pretty green.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 3-6 I've bought total goals in tonight's Woking/Hereford game (2.65 Spreadex). Woking start with Marriott, Rendell and Kevin Betsy in what looks like an offensive line-up, and there's no Mark Ricketts patrolling midfield, which should make for more openness. Hereford - albeit minus Josh O'Keefe - have a strongish side, and will fancy notching. The last time they drew a blan on their travels was at Macc in October.

Ships - I'm leaning towards Leiston, too. Word of warning, Joe Francis is a key player for Leiston but he hobbled off injured at their match against W&F with a nasty cut on the calf. I spoke to him after the match and he could be looking at 2-3 weeks out. They subbed him that day on 30 minutes and they lost the attacking impetus that he offered. Maybe best to wait until the line-ups are announced before lumping on.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 3-6 I was looking through the posts when i realized that there is still no word on Macclesfield-Chester game. After failing the big expectations last weekend against the poor Welling side and got well beatn at home,Chester will have to deal with Macclesfield who is on some kind of good run losing only once in....i don't know how mnay against Nuneaton who is a promotion contender and it was a 1:0 defeat.(not counting the game against Sheffield Wednesday). On the other hand after beating Barnet at home and Woking away everybody seem to start relying on Chester but they didn't think so.They were consecutively smashed by FG which wasn't in fact a big surprise but then it came Welling who earlier before were been defeated at home by Hyde.I don't know about injuries,susp...etc.but the odds on the home team are too generous to skip.1.85 with bet365

That's a good point about Francis, LondonH, but they were without him at Canvey and scored three (to be fair, that's about par against Canvey at the moment). What I like about the Leiston side is their ability to score goals from midfield and they do share it out. The key bit of team news for me will be whether Adam Bailey-Dennis is out for Bury for his part in the incident with Grays in the Trophy. It's not confirmed but they are already missing Bullard and the departed Russell Short. They will be even lighter than usual tonight and if Bailey-Dennis is out too, that's much of the team's spine gone.

They have added Waide Fairhurst up front - and area in which they have looked a little light - but lost John Paul Kissock in the window. Chester were woeful on Saturday but they are a different prospect with Steve Burr in charge. He's largely working with the squad he inherited and the fact that he has already bagged two wins in four is an improvement. Burr doesn't have a lot of room for manoeuvre and they are light defensively and I suspect that he'll set up the team in 'not to lose' mode with four out of the next six games away. The percentages favour a Macc win, although I am not sure there is too much in the price.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 3-6

Eastleight - Dover Athl. Odds for home team strongly going up someone knows why??
I think Eastleigh are going with the same squad as they had against Cambridge in the Trophy with the addition of Craig McCallister, so it looks a strong side. Dover are a very solid side with an excellent away record, so I can see why they might attract some business but I can't see any reason for the wholesale drift. Eastleigh at 13/10 looks big.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 3-6 interesting .... very interesting Dover started @ 10/3 this morning, some firms have them as low as 7/4 and its not even any near kick off time yet.... Like posted before here, was going to bet on Athletic, but not at that price,Eastleigh is rock solid at home, plus they are not missing any important players so cannot understand really that odds drift in last few hours. Anyway will leave it and see what happens, still long time to go before 7.45 k.o.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 3-6 I am not sure why there has been such a big drift in the price on Bishop's Stortford for tonight's game against Staines (unless someone knows something that I don't). Yesterday at one stage they were a best price of 5/4 - you can now get 15/8 with Bet 365. Staines differing home and way form has been well documented on here and although they appear to be on a reasonable run, Stortford have barely played a home game in recent times and have been unfortunate to lose both of their last two away matches to decent opposition in Ebbsfleet and Bath. Captain Reece Prestedge should return from suspension this evening and the hope is that Cliff Akurang will also be fit to play - these additions would improve the Stortford line up no end from last Saturday. I think all things considered, 15/8 is too big a price on the home team (unfortunately I've already taken 13/10 so won't be topping up!) - I would make Stortford nearer the 11/10 or 6/5 mark.

That's too far out and into value territory. I see also that Tonbridge Angels have gone out as far as 2/1 for the visit to Farnborough. I wasn't going to push the button on that one as they looked very light in forward areas with Gavin McCallum and Mikel Suarez gone, but the signing of Michael Bakare is excellent business - the kind of busy, physical presence they've been missing. They are still a bit short of full strength but Farnborough aren't offering much beyond youthful endeavour at the moment and there is a touch of value in the price.

Staines have perked up a little away from home though so not sure they are blindingly opposable as they once were, but struggling to see how they can be favs.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 3-6 I think the fact that Stortford played on Saturday is actually in their favour - manager Rod Stringer has become frustrated at the number of postponements and lack of opportunity to build up any momentum. I think two games in four days is just what the doctor ordered for Stortford at the moment! To back the selection up further, it is hoped that influential centre back Sean Francis, who was missing on Saturday, will return tonight.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 3-6

Any info on the Halifax game? The price on the home win seems a little bit long statistically speaking..
Well Halifax haven't won in six which is a worry although 4 of those games have been away and on the whole they have been poor away. The two home games were draws against Gateshead and Cambridge. Salisbury are actually a point above them in the table despite playing 4 games less. Obviously the stats point to a home win, but I think the price on Halifax is about right.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 3-6

interesting .... very interesting Dover started @ 10/3 this morning, some firms have them as low as 7/4 and its not even any near kick off time yet.... Like posted before here, was going to bet on Athletic, but not at that price,Eastleigh is rock solid at home, plus they are not missing any important players so cannot understand really that odds drift in last few hours. Anyway will leave it and see what happens, still long time to go before 7.45 k.o.
Its because they won 5 out of their last 6 at Eastleigh on the HTH's and took them all the way recently in the FAT in their 3-2 loss despite playing a significant proportion of the game a man down. Its off anyway

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 3-6 Bury Town - Leiston Isthmian Premier League England (Ryman Premier Division) Tuesday 4/2 20:45 Prediction: Leiston Odds: 3,00 Stake: 4/10 units Bookmaker: Coral Not a league were we usually would back a team, but interesting info here. Home team Bury Town place 8th in the table, at home to a Leiston placed 12th. Both teams showing decent form, but what makes the match intersting is the fact that Bury missing important defensive players. Quote: " With a huge hole at the heart of his defence" " I don’t think we’ll have anybody over six foot tall playing against Leiston, which will be a massive disadvantage against a team that have five or six at that height" "“Adam’s suspension has come at a bad time with Bully also out.If you have got one of them playing you have got a chance — with both of them out, it’s killed us and will make life very difficult.” We think Leiston should have a decent chance here, it dont sound very positive from the home team camp.

Took them @2.15 with Pinnacle - seems a decent shot - we will see :)

I struggle to believe Dover were being backed because of their H2H record against Eastleigh. One of the most pointless stats when talking about football.
