German Darts Championship 31 Jan - 2 Feb

Recommended Posts

The opening European Tour event of the season is played this week and the good news is it is being streamed for free on the PDC's YouTube channel in its entirety. There's a new format for these tournaments but the event should still be very competitive. Re: German Darts Championship 31 Jan - 2 Feb Tournament preview: 1pt ew G.Anderson to win German Darts Championship 20/1 Betfred (1/2 1-2) One man who I think will have a good weekend is Gary Anderson. He might well benefit from everyone being a bit rusty because it should mean his natural talent can come to the fore. Although no draw is easy now he should be ok in the first round and he wouldn’t run into a van Gerwen or Lewis until at least the semi final. I think 2014 will be a good year for the Scot and with the Premier League on the horizon he can prepare for that tournament in style this weekend. Re: German Darts Championship 31 Jan - 2 Feb Friday preview: 4pts R.Burnett to beat J.Pipe 5/4 Skybet Unless Richie Burnett has any jet lag issues after playing in Las Vegas last weekend I think he’s a cracking price to come through this one. He was scoring so so heavily in the World Championship and by and large his finishing was good. Although the standard of opposition in Vegas won’t have been the strongest you can’t beat winning matches and Richie’s been doing a lot of that recently. Pipe just appears to have tailed off the top of his game so I like the Welshman here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/burnett-vs-pipe-betting-richie-burnett-can-open-2014-with-a-win

Re: German Darts Championship 31 Jan - 2 Feb Saturday previews: 4pts R.Baxter to beat J.Caven 5/4 Coral I think Baxter will have an advantage from having already played this weekend and while consistency isn’t always the Rocket’s strong suit you can’t argue with how well he played in that first round. Caven is a very good player these days but he can get a bit sloppy and if he is a bit rusty at the start of the year he could well be found out. Baxter has won two of the last three meetings between these two and he’s value to win this one too. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/caven-vs-baxter-betting-ronnie-baxter-could-catch-caven-cold-in-germany 4pts K.Painter to beat T.Jenkins 10/11 Boylesports Although he hasn’t played this week I still like Painter here. Jenkins was no better than average in beating Max Hopp on Friday and unless he improves dramatically in this match Painter won’t have too many worries. As long as Painter is consistent with his scoring I think he’ll win this match because he is a better finisher than Jenkins. Jenkins has had a match this weekend but that isn’t enough of an advantage to go against Painter here.
