I read that same article about Mendis and Malinga, and thought that he may not play, but on the Stars official website he is named in the squad for this match. Don't know if that helps or not mate. The Renegades have struggled to put totals together with the bat all season but they have managed to clear the ropes even in poor totals while Adelaide have to come out swinging at everything. The boundaries here are short as we know so with the match situation as it is the overs have every chance here. Thursday preview: 5pts Brisbane Heat to beat Hobart Hurricanes 10/11 Betfred This isn’t new territory for the Heat. They left it to the last minute to make it into the semi finals last season and went and won the competition and there are signs they are getting themselves together for a repeat this season. Even at full strength I don’t think the Hurricanes are a good side but their batting without Bailey has struggled badly and under pressure I don’t trust it to perform. I think the Heat should be clear favourites here so I’m liking them at 10/11. The heat have the players with HUGE BMT and I think it will be the difference today Happy to back the heat here for 4 units Their bowling lineup is excellent, and if some of their STARS are playing this is a no contest. They are a confident side who like to bully the opposition whereas the Thunder are a bit timid, partly because their middle order is nonexistent. Even money on a stronger Sixers batting line up to hit the most sixes here looks a good punt to me. There is a lot of pressure on the youngsters to step up for the Stars here. Perth have shown they can win without Marsh and Coulter-Nile and with their bowling attack still looking strong I think they are good value at 6/4 against the weakened Stars. The Stars hit all the way down while with Bailey, Paine, Dunk and Birt around the Hurricanes can go big too so we should see a lot of maximum action. Steve Smith and Moises Henriques are two of just three men to average over 30 for the Sixers this season so they will be big losses. Perth’s batting hasn’t been ultra reliable this season but if they can bat around Katich I think they’ve an excellent chance in this semi final. Craig Simmons sums up the Perth batting in this tournament. He is all or nothing and they are all or nothing off the back of his efforts so if Hobart can deal with him early doors they’ll be right in this final. Hobart’s bowling isn’t that much worse than Perth’s and their batting is a lot better so the visitors could steal the title away from the Scorchers I believe.
