Re: Kay Suzanne Memorial Cup (ET6) Tournament preview: 1pt ew S.Bingham to win Kay Suzanne Memorial 28/1 Skybet (1/4 1-4) Stuart Bingham hasn’t really featured strongly in one of these events this season yet but he usually makes his mark on them somewhere along the line and after a bit of time off after a couple of early exits he should be refreshed and ready to go this weekend. He is in a trappy little section but that isn’t a bad thing as it should keep him focused and at 28/1 he can have a good weekend with the really big names elsewhere in the draw. 1pt ew G.Dott to win Kay Suzanne Memorial 40/1 Skybet (1/4 1-4) Graeme Dott showed he is coming back into a little bit of form with his run to the semi finals of the Shanghai Masters last week and there’s nothing stopping him from going well this weekend. Dott is a much better player when he is on the attack, which he did a lot of last week, and this format is made for attacking snooker. Dott has been runner up in a couple of these events in the past so at 40/1 with him being back in form he’s worth a dabble in the bottom half. Outsiders preview: 0.5pts ew G.Wilson to win Kay Suzanne Memorial 100/1 Skybet (1/4 1-4) Gary Wilson has already made the semi final of a PTC event this year and Mark Allen aside there is no reason why he can’t make it into Sunday at the very least in this tournament. Assuming they both get that far Allen would be a third round opponent but were Wilson to beat him then a quarter final place should be his for the taking. If we go with a firm paying out 4 places we would be on Wilson at a big price to win a quarter final so he’s worth a touch this week. 0.5pts ew M.Holt to win Kay Suzanne Memorial 100/1 Boylesports (1/4 1-4) Michael Holt was a finalist in an Asian PTC and while there’s a lot more quality in this tournament he is threatening to breakthrough and win an event of this nature soon. Holt hasn’t been great since that PTC but he has plenty of ability and he has found himself in a lovely section of the draw this weekend. His route to Sunday reads Lu Haotian, Hammad Miah or Yotharuck and then Pankaj Advani, Gerard Greene or an amateur in the last 32. Even in the last 16 there isn’t a top 16 player in sight in his section so at 100/1 it is worth chancing Michael Holt comes through that and catches fire again on Sunday. John Astley isn’t the hardest opponent he could have drawn here but he’s shown already this season that he’s capable and he could easily do Ebdon over. It is clear this format isn’t the right one for the former world champion and Ebdon hasn’t played well in the UK for a while. Astley looks good value to me here. This format is probably idea for Burden whereas Burnett would like longer to get himself into a match especially if he is struggling for form like he is.
