Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014

Recommended Posts

ADO finally up and running. They've got an OK team, but with lots of new guys. They needed to gel. Two postponed matches due to a bad pitch made it longer to do so. Advantage for them is that they are well rested. They won against one of the title contenders last week, FC Twente. MVV is in first division and have a full squad but there's just too big quality difference if ADO will play with first team (and they will) Coach Ruijs of MVV told the press he starts with same eleven and ADO gets a hard time if they reach their level of Spart away (1-1) Sorry mister Ruijs but to beat a premier team like ADO the first divsion level is not good enough. Confirmed line up MVV: Castro, Kuipers, Geenen, Verdellen, Smeets, Sema, Ospitalieri, Braken, Van Hyfte, Secerovic, Maria Unconfirmed line up ADO Den Haag: Coutinho, Malone, Bakker, Beugelsdijk, Meijers, Holla, Alberg, Gehrt, Van Duinen, Kramer, Gouriye Away win @ 1,70 (local)

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 FC Eindhoven - NEC Pick: NEC @ 1.97 (local) FC Eindhoven 3rd in the Jupiler League misses 3 three attackers: Lagouireh, Van den Hurk and Makiavala. These three players scored a total of 12 times already this season and they will be not playing. The team will then have the promptings of Waalkens, the number 10 will play in front. NEC achieved a victory last Friday in the league after 8 months without a win. This will be a gigantic boost for the team of Anton Janssen and the pressure to win is off. The team is playing well in recent weeks and had even the victory at Heracles for grabs but left it lying in the final minutes. Striker Higdon is ready to score again after two goals against Heerenveen last Friday. I expect a win for the away team tonight.

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 MVV - ADO Den Haag Under 3.5 @ 1.65 Mybet Great price for under 3.5 for two teams that have problems with making goals. I expect MVV to play their usual defensive style, especially when so much is at stake for them. MVV in their past league matches have 9 games in a row under 3.5. ADO is when playing away not a team that makes the play and will not score more than one or two goals in my opinion.

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 Quick tip for tonight: Heerenveen - VVV Venlo: Over 3.5 goals @ 1.93 Betvictor. Heerenveen - VVV Venlo: AH -1 @ 1.82 Betvictor VVV plays a league lower than Heerenveen, at home Heerenveen are a goalmachine against weaker teams. They make alot of goals and concede alot and are this season's perfect over bet in the Eredivisie. I expect at least 3 goals from Heerenveen and the 4th coming from the visitors or Alfred Finbogasson. VVV is much weaker than Heerenveen. But they score and concede their fair share of goals in the lower league. You have about 20 minutes left, trust me on the stats just decide if the risk is worth it to you :)

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 NEC shows great signs of improvement lately and at home they are hard to beat. But Cambuur was in a similar situation last cupround and lost 0-2 against Utrecht. Stats were the same cambuur came of some decent results while Utrecht constantly struggles away from home. Utrecht are real cupfighters so I don't think this will be an easy one to predict. Quality difference is not big but Utrecht still has the better team overall. I do agree Utrecht is far away from their best form and their defense is really leaky atm but they played feyenoord on top level best game of the season for feyenoord and against psv every shot was a goal. NEC is definitely playing better lately and have some great work eate in the team. But I don't think these teams can win back to back that often and Utrecht will be eager to bounce back after such a terrible defeat. I think the odds are nowhere near value for the home team. Expect a tight game and Utrecht with their experienced coach will not make such mistakes again in the same week. Under 3.5 goals look nice to me. H2H also shows this kind of games and the last 2 cupgames of both teams were pretty tight too. Nec won 2 times with 0-1 and utrecht played 1-1 and 0-2! No way utrecht will come out gun blazing here they will focus more on their defense and chances will come anyways. Nec likely will try to dominate the game as they did against Ado this weekend. Hard to pick a winner in this one and the odds dont interest me at all for the home team. Medium stakes for me on under 3.5 goals with odds 1.70 and small stakes on under 2.5 goals odds of 2.60. Small stakes on Utrecht to win the first or second half odds around 2.25! Goodluck guys.

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 Roda JC - AZ Alkmaar There is a very interesting game in the Dutch cup tonight that I think is definitely worth a pun. Because one of the strongest cupfighters, Roda JC, takes on AZ Alkmaar. The latter ,AZ, is struggling to find it's form. First things first what makes Roda interesting? Not just that they already beat Vitesse and PSV at home both in the league and both in the cup(!), but a recent changing of the guard. Roda JC, in the final phase before the winter break was really struggling with their form. One week they would give Ajax a great game the other week they got trashed by a promoted side. The board however took action and booted their old coach Brood and replaced him before Christmas with who I think is the biggest Coaching talent in the Dutch eredivisie. It is one of my favorite players, and Danish national squad legend, Jon Dahl Tomasson. He did great at Excelsior, before he took over they were in relegation trouble 2 seasons ( 18th, 15th ) but he managed to improve this bad team and make them a play off fighter with a 7th place when he left. I was impressed because I did not give 2 cents for this Excelsior team. Tomasson's first job was last weekend when Roda JC played Heerenveen away, one of the hardest possible fixtures for any Dutch team. I was simply really impressed by Roda, they were Heereenveen's equal and the 2-2 draw was more than deserved. If it wasn't for Heerenveen getting a penalty Roda definitely could have beaten Heerenveen. So this renewed Roda JC seems a good pun for tonight. AZ is however a dangerous team, I think they are still under-performing and with an away form of 2-1-6 there are just not finding their feet at the moment. Roda's home form is 2-3-5 so that is not too smashing either. But take into account that they have been renewed and revitalized by their new head coach. They are simply always a danger when playing home for any team and are a true cupfighter by defeating both Vitesse (3-1 home ) and PSV ( 1-3 away ) in the cup this season. Both coaches have already mentioned in the media that the cup is incredibly important to them. For Roda especially as it is their only way of ever getting a Europa league ticket this season ( The winner get's a play off one ). There are no notable injuries on either side so what we have left is a renewed Roda, with an astonishing record in the Dutch Cup so far and a great head coach. I put my money on Roda tonight and the odds are of great value as the bookies have Favorited AZ. I know going against the favorite is dangerous but with the improved cupfighter Roda and the poor away record of AZ I just have to put my money on Roda :) Bets to consider ( depending on the risk you want to take ): - Roda to win @ 3,10 Mybet - Roda to qualify @ 2,20 Bet365 - Roda AH 0 @ 2,22 Pinnacle - Roda AH-0,5 @ 2,85 Bet365 - Roda AH0,+0,5 @ 1,85 Pinnacle

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 I do agree, I was also thinking of backing Roda jc tonight. Fledderus their captain who also made 5 goals this season returns which is a great boost for the team along with regular Midfielder Pluim and the suspended defender of last weekend Van peppen. Only Demouge remains a injury doubt. Poulsen former AZ player returns to his old club good player left back but I dont think he will start tonight. Last cup game I backed Vitesse away at Roda and they really had no chance. Didn't play their best game but Roda jc at home puts on a lot of pressure. AZ however, also has a great coach and he knows how to approach these kind of games but I don't rate AZ that good to come here as favorites. Few years ago AZ was a really strong team but almost every year their best players leave and they have to rebuild a new team. Still struggeling in the league for a top spot and I think Roda has an advantage here. They can fully focus on this game cause if they reach the final there is a big chance they meet ajax and if ajax will be champions this year they will get the european ticket. But first this game. Most of the time AZ is way stronger playing at home, so for tonight I'll go with Roda jc to qualify medium stakes. BTS very like for me too also with medium stakes. Attacking minded teams and they often concede goals. Roda jc will dominate and AZ will probably play on the counter. Small stakes on Roda jc to win and over 2.5 goals! Goodluck guys

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 First of all great input by ziener and senk! i agree with the bets on Roda jc this evening with hupperts, nemeth and the return of fledderus they have players that can score a goal every match. But the defence of Roda jc is not that stable and Az have some good forwards as well. So instead of taking Roda +0.25 i will take Roda over 1.5 goals odds 2 at unibet. in addition i think it's smart to wait for the line ups but expect both teams to play in strongest line up. maybe i will add a funbet on hupperts to score anytime and correct score 2-2.

Both teams will definitely play with their strongest line up as both coaches have mentioned in the media that they take this very serious and want their team to give it their all. The Dutch cup has a tradition of being taken very serious by clubs, all teams play in their strongest line up. I cannot ever remember a coach playing with a 2nd team, there is no return possibility so its winner takes all on the night. With stakes so high it might be that both teams not play an open game at all. It could potentially ruin any goal bets. You are right on the defensive part but be advised that with the new manager comes a new tactic. Roda used to play offensive Dutch style football that generates a lot of chances for them but also for the opponent. As far as I can judge now from the last game Roda have changed to a 4-5-1 system with a lone striker Nemeth and an emphasis on controlling the midfield instead of just trying to attack. You are right that Roda's defense is poor so yes you could definitely consider the totals bets but I am not sure yet I think I want to see a few games to see if Roda has changed or if they still are a goal conceding machine. They only conceded 1 regular goal against Heerenveen, that is not bad since Heerenveen is a goal scoring machine in their stadium. The 2nd goal was a penalty.

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 True, AZ can be pretty tight at the back so I don't think they will go all out. 0-1 is enough for Advocaat he really is a coach who cares way more about results than attractive football. I have no doubts Roda jc will find the net at home once or twice. No missings at the back for Roda and since the attack of AZ is not that great I hope they can hold them down pretty well. Likely results 1-1 2-1 2-2 1-2 maybe. Anyways, I have good confidence Roda will not loose within 90 minutes they showed some really good games so far in the cup and are highly motivated.

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 Ziener as a Ajax fan i can remember last season Ajax against Az :) ajax played with their second line up, if i am not mistaken it was the semi final. But your right about changing tactic with their new coach. Stil think we underestimate they strenght of the Az offence with johannson, Beerens, gudmondsson and berghuis. Earlier this season the game ended 2-2 at alkmaar but then there were Two early red cards.

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 Ajax Amsterdam host Feyenoord Rotterdam. This game will be awesome to watch! Biggest rivalry in my country between these 2 sides and they will eat eachother alive on the pitch if necessary. Ajax comes of a win against another big club PSV. Always nice to start the second half of the season with that kinda win. But we have to be honest, in the first half PSV outplayed ajax and had some really good chances to open the score. They all missed so at HT it was still 0-0 luckily for Ajax. Second half they came out gun blazing and PSV almost didn't cross the middle line. Posession play started to work out really well and it led to a wonderful pass and goal by ajax. After that they had some great chances to score some more goals but they failed. Overall, a good game to watch but PSV showed that Ajax are still having troubles when the opponent puts big pressure on their defense and midfield. That's exactly the thing Feyenoord will try to do in this game, cause it is the only way to hurt them. Ajax hold a great record against Feyenoord in the Amsterdam Arena. Last 10 games 9 wins and 1 draw. Away supporters are still not allowed so that's a big advantage for Ajax. Ajax has a fairly fit squad for this game. Siem de jong is still their only important miss but he haven't played much this season! Frank de boer said it is likely to change the team on 1,2,3 positions. Quality is almost equal on some positions so Bojan, Ligeon and Denswil might start for Ajax. Not a big issue though, they all played on a regular basis. Ajax is really hard to beat at their own stadium and I expect them to dominate the game once again. It all depends on how well Feyenoord will play and what their tactical plan is for this game. R.Koeman [former Ajax coach and player] head coach of Feyenoord knows Ajax very well and he certainly knows what's best for his team. They played a great game against Utrecht 2-5 win, and especially their key man Pelle was in the form of his life. Along with Boetius and Schaken [who finally found his old form back] on the wings can be a real threat. They still conceded 2 goals by some defensive errors and it is still not waterproof there. Especially away Feyenoord really struggled a couple of times to hold a lead or to keep a cleansheet. In 9 away games this season they've only kept a cleansheet once away at Cambuur. 8 times they recieved a goal or more when playing away! These stats are nothing to write home about so I definitely think they can't hold the pressure for 90 minutes since Ajax scored in almost every home game so far. But, since Ajax is still shaky at the back from time to time Both to score bet seems very likely in this game. They've already met eachother early in the season and Ajax won 2-1 at home. No important missings for Feyenoord! It's simple for me. If ajax reaches their max level I think Feyenoord has no chance to win the game, Ajax knows they almost play every attack through Pelle and they isolated him very well earlier this season. But if Ajax concedes first things might get tough cause Feyenoord will give all they got in this game and they really, REALLY want to win against their biggest rivals. I will have 3 bets for this game. Home win odds around 1,80 are worth a try due a great home record and current form. Ajax really reached a high level in the second half this weekend. Medium stakes for me! Both to score with high stakes, cause of Feyenoords great potential upfront. Ajax to win and over 2.5 goals with small stakes. Let's say 2-1 again! :D Goodluck guys.

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 Wow an own goal by Roda that gives AZ the lead, then a red card for Roda next in the 60th minute. I can write the nicest preview but if two clowns screw up like that there is no telling. It´s the 2nd time this week my bet gets screwed by a red card :spank To make it even nicer AZ only had 2 whole shots on goal during the match...

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 It looks like Ajax will change four positions. Moisander will be replaced with denswill, serero with duarte, sigthorsson with bojan. These changings are no problem. But not so happy with Vermeer on goal now instead of cilissen who is in good form. For Feyenoord boetius looks fit but not sure Koeman will start with him.

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 Ajax - Feyenoord The biggest possible game in Dutch Football it's a must watch for anyone following this league I think it will be a great game. Now to start of since I am having the worst amount of luck lately I will keep it short and sweet. What is important; well I just read in the morning newspaper that the Ajax coach has decided to rotate players. There will most likely be no sightorsson, no denswil, and no moisander. So they expect that their best defender and their best striker get taken out. These 3 earlier mentioned will be replaced by respectively krkic, serero and denswil. Then de Boer will also put in his 2nd goalkeeper instead of Vermeer instead of Cilessen. Simply put Ajax will not play full strength in this match altough their subs are ofcourse of sufficient quality to beat Feyenoord. But in the quote of football TV analyst Jan Mulder on the dutch television sunday: "Feyenoord played championsfootball against Utrecht". The media was really impressed by Feyenoord last weekend and so was I, possible the best Feyenoord I have seen since the UEFA cup team of 2002. On Feyenoord's end there is one really important injury and that is the suspension of Dutch national team central defender Stefan de Vrij. Van Beek is his replacement but he has only seen action once or twice this season and is a complete rookie to the top flight game. So with both teams facing some weaknesses I think it will be a toss up and in that case I am going to lean towards the value and take a bet on Feyenoord. They were extremely impressive and I was not too impressed by Ajax who lately barely win games convincingly last 3 ( Cambuur 1-2 ) , ( Roda 1-2 ) ( PSV 1-0 ). So I do not agree with senk I do not think they are in great form. First two games were decided deep in injury time and the last game they were lucky PSV did not do anything with their chances. Feyenoord's extremely convincing show of football this weekend is the reason why I take a bet on them. I will consider any of these 3 depending on the final line up but I can say I lean most towards Feyenoord+1 EH untill I have seen the final line up. Feyenoord to qualify @ 2,75 Bet365 Feyenoord +1 EH @ Evens Paddypower Feyenoord to win @ 4,51 Pinnacle

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 I would like to add to that that Koeman just confirmed Feyenoord will play the same game against Ajax as they did against Utrecht. So they will play attacking pressure again. With both defenses being weakened due to subs and Vermeer instead of Cilessen for Ajax I do feel a goal bet over 2,5 is another possibility. The problem begin is that bookies expect that to and at best you could get is 1,50 for it. Over 3,5 is quite demanding I am not sure if I could recommend that. I think the best value is on a Feyenoord surprise today but as always not betting the favorit takes some cojones. With the right staking plan you can get profit out of it but it's not for everyone as it can lead to streaks of losing as well and if you are prone to chase one Id stay out of this bet. It really is a toss up it can be just like with Roda - Az decided by two dumb invidividuals. One making an own goal which was unlcuky. But the 2nd getting a yellow for a dive then bumping into the referee and getting his 2nd yellow. Can you believe the stupidity of some players :wall

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 He did not even received a second yellow card but a direct red card, so stupid and unproffesional. As for the Ajax - Feyenoord match i am not touching the 1x2 market. Not sure if there is some value, agree that Ajax is too low to take but their playing back home in the arena and this is always a difficult place to beat them. Will have a look at the goal market and yellow cards. Pelle to score is in the dutch competition always a good bet, and now with Vermeer on goal and denswill instead of moisander i will try this one as well. If boetius will play, than v Rhijn will have a difficult night chasing him. Pelle to score odds 2.85 at unibet v Rhijn to get a yellow card odds 3 at unibet still in doubt if there is some value in backing blind yellow card odds 4, he will play as defensive midfielder against immers so we could see some fighting/football there. the same for Janmaat yellow card odds 4.5, because fischer looked like of the only guys that played good against PSV and still trying to get passed the right back.

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 I think there is not much too worry about these changes in ajax line-up. Duarte is a great players equal to Serrero, denswil showed that he is a great talented defender and if you can hold Ballotelli than you have potential. Bojan is only a good thing now De vrij is out for Feyenoord. Van beek is by far not from the same quality. Bojan is really pacey and against 2 static central defenders he can cause some serious problems. Vermeer comes in, and ofcourse Cillissen plays great but Vermeer also showed in recent 2 years that he is a great goalie. Makes his mistakes sometimes but I won't exaggerate that too much. All in all these guys are subs but like I wrote earlier this is not a down grade. These guys have great potential and technical abilities to play the exact same style ajax is use to. Expecting an open game of football and may the best team win! Ajax might not be at top level for the whole 90 minutes but they showed some great signs and like I said one great game away makes feyenoord no world beaters. They really struggled away from home this season and they dont have a crowd behind them!

Saturday's game was outstanding if Feyenoord can play like that they will at the very least be able to draw ajax. It was a big difference to have Boetius back in the line up so if he starts tonight the team will have my bet. The question is always can Feyenoord do it again like on saturday well that is simply a gamble. You say that denswil held out to balotelli? Well that was a completely different game as Milan had no intentions of really attacking when they had the red card they just wanted to draw, they played an extremely closed game for the remaining 70 minutes and that is a lot easier for a defender if an opponent does not play on the attack. As a matter of fact Milan made 3 whole shots in the game and 2 shots on ajax's goal as opposed to ajax having 23 shots total and 11 on milan's goal. You can hardly call that holding out to balotelli if all milan does is hang back and try to prevent a goal. In game's like these, top games, experience is really important, if you rotate 3 players on key positions then it can have some negative consequences. I agree that Ajax is the favorit but if Feyenoord can play like they did against Utrecht they can easily draw them. But like yesterday it only takes one stupid mistake and both van beek and denswil could easily make it.

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 I was referring to Ajax - AC Milan. Ac milan did try to attack at some points in that game but they were not capable cause Ajax holded possesion and held things really tight at the back. Ballotelli had one great shot on goal in 90 minutes which was saved by the ajax goalie. Believe me, if the defender is not that good he would have had way more space to score a goal. I know Feyenoord is capable of putting out some decent amount of pressure but you can't hold that too long. Like I said, if feyenoord scores first than the game could get heavy for Ajax but if not I have no doubts Ajax will play better and better every minute. They always play like that, and they are a real Diesel. At the start of the season these teams met, and Ajax won that game 2-1. Pelle was nowhere, if ajax can isolate him again with Veltman and Denswil and they are really capable of doing that. Just 1 defender behind Pelle and one in front of him to cut off the pass. Feyenoord will have major problems. Ajax needed time to adapt, like they do every year and that's pretty logical. They loose their best players almost every year and in the first few months it is simply not possible to play your best football. Now, 6 months later Ajax showed some great signs and their possesion play with Blind and Klaassen is really good and way faster than before. Feyenoord has the same squad for a few years now so why should they beat Ajax now instead of earlier this season? Advantage is clearly for Ajax here. I think Ajax will only get better and better through-out the season and a few changes won't change their game play. Anyways, good game to watch! Goodluck all

Goodluck all[/quote'] Just want to say that it is absolutely wrong to compare the Feyenoord from the start of the season with the Feyenoord that is playing now. Or even with other seasons. I am telling you like they played on saturday I have not seen that in ages. The team not only relies on Pelle bt, Boetius and Schaken are performing a lot better than they did at the start of the season. I do not disagree with you that ajax is the favorite but in my opinion it will be a close call. If ajax gets the first goal in early it can be over pretty quick it could even become 3-0 or something. But they struggled with that in their last 3 matches. Im hoping Feyenoord will play the same as in utrecht and i will stick with them.

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 You said it yourself, we all saw that feyenoord played their best game this season last weekend away at Utrecht. But that is more a coincidence than regular basis. They always struggle away at Ajax and like I said. Ajax becomes better and better through out the season so I dont see any reasons why they shouldnt win tonight. I dont think Schaken will make the difference too, I only rate Boetius pretty high but he picked up a small injury not sure if he will start. With him out Ajax will win for sure!

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014

NEC shows great signs of improvement lately and at home they are hard to beat.
FT 1-0. 2 main bets came in, good profit again. Too bad Utrecht didnt score a goal in the second half but anyways good result for me. Ajax - Feyenoord HT 1-1 also main bet came in! Lets hope ajax can deliver another win!!

Re: Dutch Cup season 2013 / 2014 Ajax - fey FT 3-1. All in all Deserved win for ajax. Fey started pretty good in the first half and scored a nice goal. After the 1-1 they collapsed and I dont have a clue why but it looked they were afraid or something. Ajax played better and better and scored. No pressure from fey anymore and they only had 2 chances but schaken failed hopelessly. Great game all bets won. Perfect cup round for me!
