Re: Capital One Cup > 5th - 7th August Its all about the team news for these games. If i remember correctly last year there were a lot of shocks in the first couple of rounds. I expect a lot of the championship clubs will be understrength and use squad players who were not selected for the first league game. York, Newport, Wimbledon, Exeter, Oxford all could be value long shots in my view.

Re: Capital One Cup > 5th - 7th August Yes team news is crucial.... Watford look an absolute steal given their squad depth against Bristol Rovers, and I can't see Rovers being too interested. Crawley look value too at first sight because a lot has been made of Cheltenham's ambitions this year, but they've lost Marlon Pack from midfield and he was a pretty standout player for them. It wouldn't surprise me to see Jamie Cureton rested as well. Stanley at Boro would be my choice of long shot this round. Maybe Chesterfield at Leeds. I'll look into it more over Sunday and Monday.

Re: Capital One Cup > 5th - 7th August Monday night preview: 3pts Blackpool to beat Preston 31/20 BetVictor Blackpool look a nicely balanced side to me and I think they have that little bit of extra quality to get the job done here. Clearly they’ll have to weather a bit of a storm to begin with and silence a potentially big home crowd but Paul Ince was no stranger to that in his playing days and he’ll make his side aware of that. Ultimately these cup ties generally cone down to a matchwinner or two and they belong in the Blackpool side for me. Re: Capital One Cup > 5th - 7th August Exeter look too big to beat us, our record is shocking in this comp at this round. We often lose at home to 3rd tier opposition so going to Exeter looks even harder. It doesnt matter who the boss is, we just seem to get knocked out in this round. I can see a few changes from saturdays team and will be interested to see how we approach it. Never back against my team but my advice is to be careful if you think we are a good bet

Now having watched black pool on Saturday...I think they are very poor odds, considering, ince has intimated..this comp is very low on his list...expect changes from Saturday...I'll be laying blackpool at these odds

Re: Capital One Cup > 5th - 7th August Preston to beat Blackpool @ 15/8 William Hill - 3/10 I watched Preston play my team Wolves on Saturday and they were pretty solid. Although I don't have team news I don't expect them to rest any players for the local derby they have here. Blackpool on the other hand will almost certainly rest players. Preston have only conceded 1 in the last 7 competitive home games and although they have only scored 9 in that time they should not be taken lightly. As mentioned above I agree that Blackpool's odds are too short and am taking a small risk without the handicap to win outright.

Re: Capital One Cup > 5th - 7th August Preston v Blackpool Goal Line: Under 2.5 @ 1.90 Bet365 (3 Points) in Preston's last 15 competitive fixtures, only 1 game has gone over 2.5 goals. Their first game of the season was 0-0 against Wolves. It's a local derby and you would expect some key players to be rested. All of these factors combined suggest that this could be a low scoring game. The fact that so many of their games go under makes the 10/11 look good value.

Defence was shown up on Saturday and in goal we lack some ability. I wouldn't have envisages too many changes except attack. Attack is where we have an abundance of options but they're just not clicking. Bournemouth were available at 1.70, which looks OK. They beat us 2-1 in pre season too.

Re: Capital One Cup > 5th - 7th August 4pts Wolves to beat Morecambe Evs BetVictor Whichever Wolves side line up in this match they should have too much for Morecambe in this game. The Globe Arena is nowhere near as intimidating a place to go for away sides as Christie Park was which should help the former Premier League side. With Leigh Griffiths around and some good creative players in the midfield Wolves should have too much class for Morecambe here.
Leyton Orient vs. Coventry HW 1.95 8/10

Coventry have huge financial problems, their squad is made almost entirely out of youngsters...http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/coventry-city/startseite/verein_990.html In club come some young players from Coventry U18 team Both teams are from same league, 3 league (League One). The big difference is that Leyton is a candidate for promotion this season, while Coventry is a team that most probably will fight for relegation this season. Leyton performed well in their friendlies : 3 victories and 1 draw + a victory bwith 5-1 at Carlisle... On the other hand, Coventry won 2 friendlies, made 1 draw and one defeat + a defeat at Crawley Town. Quality is on home side, I expect an easy victory for Leyton here.

http://www.betrush.com/pick,Leyton_Orient_vs__Coventry,60009.html

Southend @ 2.9 - William Hill V Yeovil. Yeovil had a great start to their Championship survival bid on Saturday but I've already expressed my love affair of Southend as I think they're looking good under Phil Brown. Yeovil probably have bigger and wider ambitions this season, and while Southend are set to make changes, the players tgey're looking at bringing in are Connor Clifford, and Julian Bennett. Both are good footballers with decent pedigree. Striker Don Cowan may get some game time also. Rotherham V Sheffield Wednesday Over 2.5 goals @ 1.9 - Stan James. Both sides aren't particularly strong defensively, and Rotherham drew 3-3 with Crewe at the weekend. Big things are expected of Rotherham this season, and I fancy them to be a real test for Wednesday. Bournemouth & Swindon double @ 2.61 - bet365. Enough has been said of Pompey. Saturday wasn't a great display, and I can't see us neing defensively good enough for Bournemouth. Swindon I like today because I don't expect them to make too many changes from the side that lost narrowly to Petervorough at the weekend. They're looking to build up some consistancy and momentum while Torquay don't look great this season. The price seems to hold water. Leyton Orient V Coventry + 0.5 @ 2.02 - bet365. I think the odds display a slight over reaction here. Coventry showed great spirit in pulling back two goals at the weekend when playing Crawley, and I don't often see Orient as huge favourites. I think Coventry need the result, as well as the cash it brings and they're worth a draw here Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using PL Forum

Re: Capital One Cup > 5th - 7th August On the overs at Nottingham, Middlesbrough, Brighton (5dimes). The biggest dogs in this competition play offensively, mainly because they have to...they are seldom cagey affairs. Championship vs League Two matchups of +/-1.5 HC (as these are) have gone 8-2 since I started counting four years ago (all such games 18-5 in that time).

Funny, the two that went over were one-way traffic in terms of possession and shots, and the one that didn't go over had something like 45 shots between the two teams. Not sure if the Brighton sending off helped or hindered.

Re: Capital One Cup > 5th - 7th August

All underdogs to favorites of 1.99 or lower in first round: 2012-13: 3-10-11 2011-12: 5-2-8 2010-11: 4-4-13 2009-10: 3-2-17 So, last season was a draw-fest in the first round, but the previous three years it was like Russian Roulette.
And so far in 2013-14: 3-3-14. Last year was the anomaly.

Re: Capital One Cup > 5th - 7th August What about Blackburn today, I watched that game against Derby and Blackburn was good team on field, they had good play and if they play with same team they will beat Carlisle easily, any infos about this match, will Blackburn play with full team?
