Re: CL Third Qualifying Round > 30th - 31st July Ludogorets Razgrad v Partizan Partizan battled through against the mighty Shirak in the last round, winning on away goals after a fortunate 1-1 draw in Armenia followed by a 0-0 at home. One of their better players Mitrovic is still out suspended as far as I know, they signed players like Aksentijevic (Vitese), Malbasic (Hoffenheim) but neither played much for their clubs last season and they lost key man Markovic to Benfica for £9m and lost Scepovic to Gijon, they continue to lose their better players and they are not really replaced. Their league is weak and they the team seems to get weaker season after season. Bulgarian champions Ludograd are owned by the wealthy businessman Kiril Domuschiev and in the last few years they have made big progress in the Bulgarian league, they are 'new money' so to speak but have won the last two Bulgarian championships and have brought in quite a few foreign players who occupy the attacking areas of the team, they had an impressive 3-0 victory over Slovan Bratislava in the previous match although I'm not sure that team is as strong as they used to be. They seem worth a play with draw cover, the price is dropping though and doesn't seem worth it if it goes to 1.4 or lower. Ludogorets Razgrad DNB - 1.5 - hills - 5 Points

Toivonen is still there after rejecting a move to Norwich, can't see them doing anything against better sides considering their losses though. Don't know a lot about Zulte Waregem, think it was quite a shock they qualified for the CL though as their budget is way behind other sides in Belgium. Probably one for in-play..

As a local guy (Bulgarian, but also with good outlook on Serbian league and Partizan) I have to say I totally agree with your analysis. Ludogorets played amazing game against Slovan and the score should have been 5-6 to nil for them, because they humiliated their guests. I should say that Ludogorets were also the better team in Bratislava, and in both games against Dinamo Zagreb last summer, but in all three games stupid mistakes in extra time costed Ludogorets a lot. They have experienced and good players, and many options to chose from in each zone. Partizan is in financial crisis and there is real danger of bankruptcy for the team. Which can be considered from different betting perspectives, as from one hand it should increase the tension upon them, but on the other hand it might be extra motivation to challenge for Cl, whose income may turn vital for Partizan's future. However, Grobari (gravediggers - Partzan nickname) have depleted squad at the moment, and their team is just way too young and lacking experience. They played bad against Shirak, and particularly in Armenia they deserved to lose by a few goals difference. They are unstable in defense, as well, as their key man - Bulgarian Ivan Ivanov, is set to leave for Basel. He may still start against Ludogorets, but he was having tensions with Partizan's management and board of directors over his transfer, so he might be lacking concentration, and this guy is very important for Partizan's defense ( I might argue he is the best defender in the whole Serbian league). Regarding weather conditions and support - it is too hot at the moment, but it should be very good weather on Wednesday - expected 27-28 degrees daily (so, around 25 during the game). Partizan usually brag with amazing support from the stands, however, due to the small capacity of Ludogorets Arena, not more than 400-500 away fans will be let at the stadium, the rest is sold out to the home fans. Should be Ludogorets victory unless they do their typical stupidity (outplay the opponent, miss chance after chance to finish them, and concede in extra time).

Re: CL Third Qualifying Round > 30th - 31st July Everything in the previous posts about Partizan is correct. They never should have been here if the Armenians had a little bit more concentration especially in the first match. You should know, however, that Partizan signed three new players that are eligible to play in this round and altghough they are not very long with the team they will add some quality for sure. From Ukraine arrived defender Obradovic, although pretty old (35 years) he was a standard player in very strong Ukranian league. Last week Djemba Djemba signed (the worst player in MUTD history :D) and from Olympiakos on loan came Montenegrian forward Grbic. Ludo is for sure favourite in this match. The fact that is not on their is far less European experience than Partizan side.

Agree that PSV look to short here. They replaced Schaars from sporting for V Bommel and Maher for Strootman. The line up will be: Zoet( back from loan, a good young keeper) Arias ( they bought this one from sporting) Rekik ( on loan from man city) Bruma ( bought him from chelsea) Willems Maher ( bought him from AZ) Schaars ( bought him from Sporting and is the only experienced player so far) Wijnaldum ( getting his chance this season as number 10) Depay ( Big talented own youth) Matavz ( Will get the chance, but Locadia wants his place and is a big talent and a goal machine) Bakkali ( young player from own youth) As you can see only young unexperienced players, and 8 or 9 new players will start. Think the BTS is priced great at unibet odds 1.80

I was thinking PSV were priced about right with their pedigree, but looking at Zulte's away record last season, it was the best in the Belgian Pro League. They won 11, drew 3 and lost 1 of their 15 away games in the main season. At different stages of the season, they won away at Anderlecht, Club Brugge, Genk (the other top 4 placed teams). And they kicked off the new season with another away win last Saturday. So on the face of it, it's a strong away side against a weakened home favourite.

Also I doubt if their defense, although efficient domestically, can hold up in Europe.

Re: CL Third Qualifying Round > 30th - 31st July

PSV could have won that 5-0' date=' Zulte were bloody awful..[/quote'] I didn't see it but following the in-play stats, it looks as though they took over in the second half. I did see Zulte had more corners which means they went forwards themselves, but I know PSV can be effective attacking on the break.

Re: CL Third Qualifying Round > 30th - 31st July Celtic Season ticket holder here, On paper Celtic should have too much for the Swedish team but that's on paper. They have lost their talisman anchorman Wanyama and poacher Hooper to the EPL, and have not yet replaced them with anyone special. Stokes will be asked to step up as the main striker and atm he is untested apart form the odd goal on the Euro stage. He was not trusted last season in Europe instead used during the domestic campaign. I will be surprised if the new striker Balde starts as he has looked very rusty during preseason. Celtics main player will be Samaras and it depends if Lennon plays him upfront or in his usual position on the left, if he turns up Celtic should win as when he is on his game he is unplayable, his problem is consistency tho. Celtic have yet to get going and the problem i think is the defense. Last seaosn wanyama played in front of the back line offering solid protection and he was a colossus, he has not been replaced and its been noticed in preseason. Although friendlies cannot be used to judge properly the goals we have conceded with the opposition exploiting the gap between the defensive line and the midfield has been noticed and Celtic are still trying to get their A game together. Celtic will come good i think but this game comes very early in Celtics competitive calender and i think Efsborg will cause problems. We were quite lax at the back versus Clifton-ville and a better team would of scored against us. These lapses in concentration will be punished by a better more clinical outfit unless Celtic wisen up quickly. Unfortunately i think this game comes too soon for us to sort it out and i think we will concede an away goal at Celtic Park. The 1.57 odds on my team are definitely not value. I think this game will finish 1-1, 2-1 3-1 so will probably look at o/2.5 goals or i will do what i normally do and not bet on a game my team plays in biggrin.gif

Re: CL Third Qualifying Round > 30th - 31st July Also Celtic signed boerrigter from Ajax, he is a left winger we good speed and a good shot. He can also play as right winger but struggled last year with Ajax. His fitness is the biggest problem, but if he is fit this is a good signing fit Celtic. Think he can not play the game of tonight but we should see him next week?

Ludogorets were the better team but, especially in the first half, struggled to make the most of their chances..second half they stepped it up after going a goal down and got what was a deserved win.
