The betting for pole position is getting very predictable with both Mercedes drivers and Vettel the only ones seriously considered quick enough to challenge for the front row. Hamilton is a slight favourite and but as with him last week the fans will be behind Vettel here and he will be keen to do well in a race he hasn’t managed to win as yet. Rosberg can be backed at 13/5 with

German GP An interesting race lies ahead as the top six are on soft tyres which wont last too long and will have to pit well before Alonso and Massa in the Ferrari’s, the crucial point of the race is sure to be the first half a dozen laps and who can get these new tyres to work the longest. If Hamilton can keep his lead on the opening lap it will make it even more interesting with both Red Bull’s and Raikkonen chomping at the bit in behind. Vettel is still the favourite at around 5/4 and that doesn’t represent much value to me, he would need to be guaranteed the early lead for me to be interested at that price. This week I might take a chance on Lotus and Raikkonen finally having a race without the bad luck that he seems to attract lately, he’s decent value and the Lotus car looks pretty quick to me. He’s 9/1 to win and 7/5 to reach the first three and both bets look tempting. The points market is pretty tight as usual but I like Hulkenberg at odds against in front of his home crowd to do well.
