Re: Bulgaria Open (ET1) 7-9 Jun Tournament preview: 1pt ew B.Hawkins to win Bulgaria Open 22/1 Coral (1/4 1-4) The middle two quarters look to be a bit easier than the top and the bottom ones so that is where I’ll concentrate from an outright point of view. One man who had an excellent season last year is Barry Hawkins and he has a nice draw in this tournament as Matthew Stevens is the only top 16 player in his way before the semi finals by which time we would have the place dosh in the bank. I think Hawkins will come on again this season after his exploits in Sheffield and he should go well here. 0.5pts ew B.Woollaston to win Bulgaria Open 66/1 Skybet (1/4 1-4) Ben Woollaston is a player on the up and he often goes well in these ranking tournaments. He is another who has a dream draw in this tournament. He won’t meet anyone higher than him in the rankings until the quarter finals when he could meet Shaun Murphy or John Higgins but neither of those are the most brutal opponents in the PTC competitions. Woollaston has begun the season well and at a big price he can follow that up here. Re: Bulgaria Open (ET1) 7-9 Jun Friday match preview: 3pts J.Swail to beat J.Perry 6/4 Paddy Power Joe Swail is worth a chance here because there is every possibility that he could catch Perry a little bit rusty. This distance might be Swail’s optimum distance for a while and he showed last year that he can win matches over this distance. Joe Perry will need to be at his best to win this but just in case he is slightly below that a small bet on Swail is the recommendation. Re: Bulgaria Open (ET1) 7-9 Jun Sunday L16 preview: 4pts J.Higgins to beat S.Murphy 10/11 BetVictor I like Higgins in this match. He has a good record against Murphy anyway and most of the reason for that is that he is much smarter tactically. If we add into the mix that Higgins has scored the more heavier of the two this weekend thus far then it is hard to see how Murphy can come through this one unless Higgins has a dip in form but history suggests he gets stronger the longer a tournament goes along so he’s my pick here.
