BillyHills
Qualifying All the good judges reckon Mercedes actually have a chance of putting a good grid slot to use this weekend, they have been on pole for the last three races and failed to look like being good enough in the actual race but with this circuit much kinder on the tyres it may be the best chance for Lewis Hamilton to shine. Rosberg has been very quick in qualifying and can’t be ruled out either and is suspect it will be a Mercedes v Red Bull shoot out on Saturday. Predictably the bookies have the Mercedes drivers at the head of the betting and I just prefer Hamilton around here. Of the bigger prices Mark Webber is value at 14/1 and might be worth an each way bet with those firms paying out on the top three places. BillyHills
Re: Monaco Grand Prix Monaco GP As a result of qualifying Rosberg is the hot favourite at around 11/10 with Hamilton a 3/1 shot, Hamilton’s quotes after his performance today wasn’t too encouraging stating he has little confidence around here and where I would normally back the bigger priced driver of a front row lock out this has confused the issue and the safer bet appears to be with the pole sitter to follow in his fathers footsteps by winning the Monaco Grand Prix. In the points market we have no less than a dozen drivers trading at odds on such is difficulty in overtaking here, I’m not sure about Massa making up the ground although he will be driving with no pressure and would sooner be with Di Resta who I think will be out to prove a point and while it will be difficult from 17th the 2/1 is too tempting to leave alone. There is no value in the Podium betting so a tilt at the top six market with Jensen Button appeals to me on a track he knows and drives well.
