Back Tomas Berdych to win ATP Barcelona for a 1/10 stake at 23.00 with Paddy Power Back Nicolas Almagro to win ATP Barcelona for a 1/10 stake at 17.00 with Stan James Is Nadal still the favourite even after that defeat in Monte Carlo? Well, he probably is - but not a 1.33 one. Meanwhile, Ferrer is surrounded by question marks right now, so I am going to go with the two guys that have been performing rather consistently so far this season and who will want to do well after not living up to the expectations last week. Seppi and Zeballos are both hard workers and both have what it takes to win a small clay court tournament, so I am going to go with them at what seem to be quite juicy prices. Simona Halep and Kiki Bertens are both young, talented, and hungry for success - and those might indeed be the right ingredients for success in Marrakech this week. Meanwhile, the second half of the draw is full of players that played in the Fed Cup over the weekend, so Li Na should be able to take advantage of that and show that she is the world's number five for a very good reason. Re: April 22 - April 28 Back Robin Haase to beat Carreno-Busta 2,00 @ StanJames (4/10) Robin Haase -1,5 sets to beat Carreno-Busta 3,2 @ Boylesports (1/10) Carreno-Busta is overrated because of a great record at ITF tournaments, but he's at most a challenger level player. He lost easily against Haider-Maurer in a challanger a few days ago. His biggest weekness (in my opinion) is his second serve, which should give plenty of chances for Haase to break. Haase is a good player who can play awfully if not in the mood, and sometimes very inconsistent, so -1,5 sets may be a bit risky but even so he should be able to beat the Spaniard.

Re: April 22 - April 28 Back Tatsuma Ito (+1.5 sets) to beat Daniel Brands for a 1.5/10 stake at 2.55 with Pinnacle Back Tatsuma Ito to beat Daniel Brands for a 0.5/10 stake at 5.30 with Pinnacle Alright, Daniel Brands does have much more experience when it comes to clay courts, but I think that there is no reason for having him as such a huge favourite against someone like Tatsuma Ito, who is apparently trying to get some successes in European clay court events right now. It is not going to be easy for Ito, but I believe that he has what it takes to win a set - or even two - against Brands today. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/ito-vs-brands-betting-tatsuma-ito-looks-a-bit-overpriced-against-daniel-brands-20130422 Back Arantxa Rus to beat Maria Torro-Flor for a 2/10 stake at 3.46 with Pinnacle Both Rus and Torro-Flor are tremendously talented - and both are also struggling to get wins right now. What I make out of this is that it is hard to see either of them as a big favourite for this clash. Rus might not be a clay court specialist like Torro-Flor, but she has enough quality to beat her and these odds look a touch high, so I would say that going with her looks like the right choice today. Re: April 22 - April 28 I am going to focus on WTA Stuttgart this week, but one match at WTA Fes caught my attention WTA Fes Tuesday 23.4.2013: Ka.Pliskova to bt Dominika Cibulkova @3.38 Pinnacle (2/10) Ka.Pliskova is young talented player with big potential. She is not that much experienced yet, and that's the reason she got steamrolled 1-6 0-6 by Vinci at Katowice (indoor) clay tournament last week. However, she posess huge serve and did beat Kanepi last week, which is IMO good result. The main reasoning for this bet, however, is the fact that Dominika just played Fed Cup in Moscow on Sunday and has to unedrgo a tiresome travel to Marocco. Moreover, SVK team did blow the 2-0 lead over RUS, and Dominika was the key factor in it when she played the 3-rd match vs Kirilenko. She managed to break Kirilenko first in each set and also managing to fukk the whole thing up by weak serves and lot of backhand errors. Dominika is a known headcase, and short time after hilarious defeat together with non-easy jurney is going to bring her down. Karolina had a break since her match in Katowice and is ready to show good performance. These two never played together so far.

Re: April 22 - April 28 Back Jelena Jankovic to win WTA Porsche Tennis Grand Prix @ 38.00 >Betfair I think Jankovic can have a good week in Germany, and consolidate the good form she showed in making the final in Charleston last time out. She starts here against Stosur, who has had some injury problems recently and who has been involved in a delayed Fed Cup tie for Australia which was carried over from the weekend. In addition, Jankovic has a good record against Stosur and so should have a good chance of getting to the next round. She might play Lisicki in the second round, and even though Lisicki has home advantage she has been in poor form since her run to the final in Memphis. Lisicki is another player that Jankovic has a good record against, and so she should see a match against her as a good opportunity to make the quarter-final. Errani is likely to be Jankovic's opponent for a place in the semi-final, but she played in the Fed Cup at the weekend and so might be jaded. If Jankovic gets past Errani her semi-final match would probably be against Li Na, but she hasn't played since Miami and so could be a little rusty and she also hasn't played on clay so far this season. If Jankovic reaches the final she could play against Sharapova, but like Li Na, Sharapova hasn't played since Miami and hasn't played on clay yet this season. Although Sharapova flattened Jankovic when they last met in Miami, I think Jankovic could cause her more problems this time around, particularly as they have yet to meet on clay. I think Jankovic is definitely worth a go this week, especially as a number of her rivals either haven't played for a while or have been in Fed Cup action ahead of this tournament. Back Nicolas Almagro to win ATP Barcelona Open BancSabadell @ 24.00 >Betfair I think Almagro can bounce back from his early exit last week in Monaco, and I'm sure he will be keen to impress on home ground. On clay, he should be too strong for Dodig in his first match, and in the second round he should play Marcel Granollers, a player who hasn't strung two wins together since Sydney at the start of the year. Almagro's record against Granollers is also very good, and so he should be able to reach the quarter-final and a possible match against Monaco. Even though Monaco managed to take a set in his match against Djokovic last week in Monte-Carlo, he has been struggling for form so far this season. Almagro has also beaten him both times that they have played each other on clay in Spain, and so I think he should be able to progress to the semi-final. If Almagro is to make the final here he will probably need to get past Ferrer, a player that he has never beaten. Despite this, I think he could have a chance if they were to play each other. Almagro was very close to knocking Ferrer out of the Australian Open at the start of the year, and as Ferrer hasn't played at all since Miami or on clay since the South American clay court swing, Almagro might be able to finally beat him. In the final, Almagro should face Nadal, and although he has never beaten him, they have had some close matches in the past and Nadal didn't look at his fluent best last week in Monte-Carlo. I think Almagro is the value play in the top half of the draw in Barcelona, as the expectation is that Ferrer will make the final even though he withdrew from the Monte-Carlo Masters last week with an injury. Back Tommy Robredo to win ATP Barcelona Open BancSabadell @ 160.00 >Betfair I don't see why Robredo can't have a good run this week, as he's had a pretty good season so far on clay. He won the title in Casablanca in his last tournament, and reached the last four in Buenos Aires earlier in the year. He should be able to win his first match here, against doubles specialist Marc Lopez, before a second round meeting with Dimitrov. I think Robredo has enough experience to find a way to beat Dimitrov, particularly as he should have the support of the crowd and these are arguably among his favourite conditions. Dimitrov will be under pressure to back up his good performance against Nadal in Monte-Carlo last week, and if he gets tight then Robredo is good enough to take advantage. If Robredo makes the third round he could meet Berdych, but he has beaten him before and although Berdych has had some rest since his early exit last week in Monte-Carlo, if he is still fatigued as he has appeared to be in recent weeks, then Robredo might be able to get the better of him. In the quarter-final, Robredo might play Raonic, and although Raonic's game is improving all the time, Robredo is possibly more comfortable on clay and has had more matches on the surface recently than the Canadian. If Robredo manages to get to the semi-final, the chances are that he would play Nadal. Robredo has never managed to beat Nadal, but if Nadal is off his game like he was at times in Monte-Carlo last week, and if Robredo continues his recent good form, then he might be able to cause a shock. Ferrer could be the player that Robredo faces if he goes all the way to the final, and given that Ferrer might not be completely fit and Robredo has beaten him before, I would give him a chance of taking the title. I'll be using a very small stake given the odds, and also because Robredo sometimes has fitness problems of his own, but I still think this is a big price for a player who has been winning plenty of matches on the dirt in recent months.

Ka.Pliskova to bt Dominika Cibulkova @3.38 Pinnacle (2/10) VOID
The lousy Cibulkova realised she would get doublebagel and decided to withdraw :lol Anyway, I placed a future on WTA Stuttgart: Player to win Porsche Grand Prix 2013: Kvitova @11.3 Pinnacle (2/10) I trust Kvitova here. She has been quite poor recently, but with the performance she delivered in Palermo on Sunday, I think she's got her self confidence back - after being a set down and 1-2 in the second set in the match with Errani, she has won 11 games in a row, thus giving Errani bagel on Sara's favourite surface (slow clay) in Sara's home country. I just don't get how Sara could be @8.6 (hence bigger fav than Kvitova) here. Stuttgart's clay is indoor clay in Porshe arena, which is faster, and the indoor conditions suits Petra much better than outdoor clay courts. I'd say that the only serious opponents for Petra here are Li Na (they can meet in QF), and, of course, the top seed Sharapova (they can meet in the Final). Kvitova in final should be around evens against Masha, and in QF against Li Na Petra shud be around 1.6-1.7. Odds 11+ are big value to me.

Fully agree with your analysis and that there is a value on Kvitova at current odds. Still I really doubt that she would be priced evens in match against Sharapova, I think that she would be a solid underdog in the match.

Fully agree with your analysis and that there is a value on Kvitova at current odds. Still I really doubt that she would be priced evens in match against Sharapova' date=' I think that she would be a solid underdog in the match.[/quote'] Kvitova against MaSha was 1.6ish fav last year in semis in this tournament (Stuttgart), and she was 2.45 underdog last year at French Open semi. IMO IF she gets into finals, the bookies should realize that she is back and I'd expect smthing like 1.8-2.6, which is far from being solid underdog. However, this is still a long shot. I just explained wher did I get my figures. adding: going into repeated Berdy massage, I think with H2H 10-2 and current Berdy (bad) form, Davy just cannot be 3.3ish underdog in Barcelona: Davydenko to bt Berdych @3.36 Pinnacle (2/10) Berdy just can't find his rhythm on clay this year, and with being terriobly defeated by Fognini last week in Monte Carlo (Foggy was 4.5 underdog and Berdy did not even get a set), it's hard to understand why Berdy should be the big fav in this one. Not saying Berdy is not going to win this, but I'd have him at evens at the best.

Re: April 22 - April 28 24.04 Rafael Nadal - Carlos Berlocq - Lay Nadal 1.03 Betfair - 0.5/10 (for £1.5 you'll get £50) Rafael Nadal - Carlos Berlocq - Back Berlocq +1.5 Set (should be between 15-20 but not listed yet) - 0.5/10 Rafa is going strong after the injury he picked up last year but he's not a machine he used to be yet. He's played against Berlocq in Sao Paulo this year and the Argentine managed to get a set of Rafa and wasn't that far from winning the whole match. Theoretically, Nadal is better now but his recent results show that he might struggle from time to time, which allows to think that players like Berlocq stand a chance of taking a few games or even a set off the Spaniard. Cheers, Mark

Re: April 22 - April 28 Well, Stosur was out of sorts up until the Voegele match where we expected her to lose. She some overturned Voegele next day after the rain delay but was still not very convincing. You may be right in saying that clay is Stosur best surface, but it also appears to be Jankovic's as well. Over the last year her best record has been on clay 11-6. Jankovic has a 5-2h2h over Stosur with one of Stosur's easy win coming on clay. To me that victory is uncorroborated as it could have happened on any other surface. In fact both Stosur victories happen in the same period within a space of 2 months.....which imo tells more about a drop in the form of JJ. To round up. I believe that JJ is a better mover on the red dust and is quick enough to keep Stosur from running round the backhand too often. I also believe that JJ's newly found form is set to continue for a while. She is fresher than Stosur and should be able to stand tall enough.

Re: April 22 - April 28 Back Chanelle Scheepers to beat Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor for a 2/10 stake at 2.60 with Bwin I rate Scheepers as the better player of the two right now and I feel that she should be too strong for Torro-Flor, who simply hasn't recorded any great performances so far this year. Furthermore, the win that Scheepers recorded against Cirstea was definitely more impressive than the one Torro-Flor recorded over Rus. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/scheepers-vs-torro-flor-betting-chanelle-scheepers-can-continue-her-marrakech-campaign-with-yet-another-solid-victory-20130424 Back Francesca Schiavone to beat Petra Martic for a 2/10 stake at 1.75 with BetVictor Well, Martic has been struggling so far this season, while Schiavone has at least some wins to her name. The Fed Cup action might affect her due to some travel things, but she did not play over the weekend, so there should be no physical fatigue involved and she should therefore be able to deal with Martic. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/schiavone-vs-martic-betting-francesca-schiavone-should-be-too-strong-for-petra-martic-in-marrakech-20130424 Back Benoit Paire to beat Pablo Andujar for a 2/10 stake at 2.00 with Pinnacle Paire is the better player of the two and Andujar still seems to be under-performing right now, so I am willing to back the Frenchman in Barcelona today. Re: April 22 - April 28 Kavcic - Granollers This season Kavcic has won first set against Hewit, Youzny, Wawrinka and still he lost all those matches. He actually said that he has problems once he realizes he became favorite to win the match. In first roung he eliminated Falla and lost only 3 games which is excellent for his selfconfidence. As for the Granollers, his home town is not his favourite place to play. In Barcelona he has miserable record of only 2 wins and 7 lost matches and that form is not followed by tough opponents. Furthermore, his current form is not so good either. Last week he finally broke the line of defeats with win against Hanescu but he also lost the first set. All the above mentioned suggests that Slovenian player should get a better start into the match. Although winning first set is also a good option I prefer handicap because i dont want to depend on the outcome of possible tie-brake. Bet: Handicap first set +1.5 Tip: 1 Odds: @2.00 Best of luck ;)

Re: April 22 - April 28 Back Silvia Soler-Espinosa (-1.5 sets) to beat Olga Poutchkova for a 2/10 stake at 2.10 with Paddy Power Olga Poutchkova probably deserves some credit for beating Hantuchova, but the truth is that she wasn't playing that well in that match and only took advantage of Hantuchova's bad play. Silvia Soler-Espinosa should be a much tougher opponent in that regard, as she usually doesn't make a lot of errors - and her consistency is bound to trouble the Russian today. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/soler-espinosa-vs-poutchkova-betting-silvia-soler-espinosa-should-be-able-to-deal-with-the-russian-in-marrakech-20130425 Back Lucie Safarova (+1.5 sets) to beat Maria Sharapova for a 2/10 stake at 3.66 with Pinnacle I have to say that I quite fancy Safarova to take a set off the Russian today. There is obviously a decent gap between the two in terms of overall quality, but Safarova seemed to be on fire yesterday and she might easily catch Sharapova off guard today, as the Russian hasn't played for quite some time now and might therefore not be at her very best straight away. Re: April 22 - April 28 Baroni vs Li Na O19 @2.23 Pinnacle (3/10) Since 2009 Li Na routinely comes to Stuttgart after couple of week's rest after Miami. However, she never gets very far here - usually she ends in R2, last year she made it one round further. This year she is seeded and plays her first match in R2. She should be a little rusty (last year she played 76 64 with Safarova), and as such she should not win easy over competent opponents. WTA Stuttgart Double Ivanovic (vs Petrova) x Jankovic (vs Lisicki) @2.21 Pinnacle (3/10) Petrova did not convince me against nobody Pfizenmayer. She made tons of unforced errors and had to even play tie-break in the first set. Anna leads H2H 3-1 on clay (last match she has won last year in Madrid 75 61) and I though her win over Petkovic should be taken with a grain of salt because Petko is recovering from injuries, I trust her not to make as many errors as Nadia does. JJ was very good yesterday against Stosur (I was involved LIVE and made some bucks placing wager at 2.10 on JJ before she broke Stosur the first time). She really means it here and definitely should dispose of bum-bum Lisicki that was broken twice by the inexperienced 21 yr old Italian Burnett in her yesterday's match. JJ leads H2H 3-0, and they already met in Stuttgart in 2009: JJ won 75 57 63.

Re: April 22 - April 28 Back Ernests Gulbis to beat Milos Raonic for a 2/10 stake at 2.48 with Pinnacle Well, I guess that Raonic deserves to be the favourite, but I wouldn't have Gulbis as such a big underdog here. The fact that he has a 0-2 record against the Canadian will make him even more determined and I can certainly see him getting the job done this time around, as the surface in Barcelona should give both of them something to build on. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/gulbis-vs-raonic-betting-ernests-gulbis-looks-value-against-the-powerful-canadian-20130426 Back B.Paire/R.Nadal - Over 17 games for a 2/10 stake at 2.04 with Pinnacle Carlos Berlocq covered this line against Nadal on Wednesday, so I can definitely see Paire covering it today as well. It is obviously going to be an uphill battle for the Frenchman, but he has enough weapons in his arsenal to win at least a few games against Rafa, who has not been able to find his very best on the European clay courts so far. Re: April 22 - April 28 Back M.Raonic/R.Nadal - Over 20.5 games for a 2/10 stake at 2.00 with Pinnacle Benoit Paire showed that guys with big shots can trouble Nadal right now and I think that Milos Raonic will indeed be able to trouble the Spaniard today. His massive serve is doing a lot of damage on this particular surface and this is a line that he should be able to cover at the end of the day. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/raonic-vs-nadal-betting-milos-raonic-to-win-quite-a-few-games-against-the-defending-champion-20130427 Back Angelique Kerber to beat Maria Sharapova for a 2/10 stake at 3.89 with Pinnacle Sharapova has not been able to find her range so far this week, so I think there is every chance of seeing her fall today. Kerber should be full of confidence after two straight sets victories and she has already managed to defeat Sharapova on one occasion, so she should have what it takes to get something from this match - and perhaps even win it. Re: April 22 - April 28 Back Raonic(+2.5) in First Set Handicap @5/6 with PaddyPower PaddyPower were offering an incredible 6/5 for this yesterday and I wish I'd thought to post it up then but I still think there is value in this price. Reasoning is simple: If he wins the toss Nadal always elects his opponent to serve first, so for this bet to lose and Nadal to win the set 6-3 or better he is going to have to break Raonic at least twice which I think is a tough ask. Raonic has the best serve stats on tour and is serving well currently and should be a good favourite to reach 4 games.

Re: April 22 - April 28 Early market WTA Stuttgart Final Li Na to bt Sharapova @2.47 Pinnacle (8/10) Li Na has been very clinical throughout the whole week. Sharapova lost a set in ech match she played due the inexplicable loss of concetration, while Li na did not lose a single set so far. IMO Li Na is going to punish that severely. H2H 8-5 for Maria, Li Na won the last match played (Australian Open semifinal this year). I was ready to buy anything above 2.0, and 2.47 is very pleasant surprise to me.

Re: April 22 - April 28 Na li to beat Sharapova @2.10 Pinnaclesports (10/10) Na li is better clay court player than Sharapova. Last year Sharapova won Roland Garros without beating Na li and Sam Stosur. So she had a very lucky draw last year at Roland Garros. Also at this week Na Li played a lot better than Sharapova.Sharapova made too many unforced errors against Kerber. I think Na Li is the clear favorite in this match.

However, we all know that he is fully capable of having a day off after a good performance and Garcia-Lopez will step in if that happens. I am not saying that it will, but the pressure of a final match might have an effect on Rosol and I therefore wouldn't have him as such a big favourite here. In my opinion, Schiavone was pretty impressive yesterday. Dominguez should have lost against Bertens. Minella made tons of errors in 3rd set. Schiavone could dominate rallies in this match. When Dominguez starts hitting double faults, I think it will be quitte easy for Schiavone. 2-0 odds are raising which in my opinion is not logical.
