kevshat
Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 28-29 I don't know how seriously Grimsby are taking the Trophy but if they are taking it anything close to semi seriously then that 13/10 is huge. We made 7 or 8 changes in the last round and the way we ran our arses into the ground yesterday I'd expect at least that on Tuesday night if not all 11 being changed, particularly now we've got a potentially winnable FA Cup draw. I'd expect Grimsby to take Tuesday night seriously, certainly if their fans are anything to go by because they seem to have a bit of a beef with us after some transfer nonsense! If I was Buckle I would be playing the youth team as I would want out the competition as fast as possible. I thought Grimsby were lucky to beat Welling in the last round and they don't seem to be playing that well at the moment, which is a slight concern, but if Luton put out the reserves/youth then they should win. We'll definitely make changes so I'd be surprised if that 13/10 is around anytime on Tuesday.
Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 28-29 Lots of damp pitches about, so we'll see some call-offs I'm sure, and it's tough to price games up when teams have been hardly been in action - the form book is only a very rough guide to what will happen - but there are a few of plays that appeal, including Grimsby as outlined by Kevshat and addpea. Bedworth United away at Bideford (21/10 BetVics) 7/3 at Marathon. There's not much between the sides but Bedworth look a more interesting prospect since the squad got some of its missing bodies back - this won't be the side that keeled over at Leamington. I expect them to have a decent run into this year. Bideford have done very well, but their best form seems to be over and they've gone three without a win. Chesham United away at Bashley (23/20 BetVics) 13/10 at Marathon. Chesham disappointed on Saturday, but they had their chances in an open game on a terrible pitch. Bashley are not nearly as progressive as Gosport, and are struggling at home, with one win in five and one point from the last three. bartonbank
Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 28-29 Four times this season Wrexham have played Southport and have won all of them. Goals for, 11; goals against 2. We have won by at least two clear goals on each occasion and won 4-1 in the FA Trophy, at Southport, on Saturday. By rights it should have been by more. Despite that you can get Wrexham, with a -1 handicap at better than evens with most bookies and Boylesports are offering 4.33 Wrexham giving up a 2 goal start. The -1 is a bet and -2 a sporting play for a bit of fun, but not recommended as a bet.

Omar Riza is turning out for Chelmsford City tonight - good signing for them.[/quote'] I don't live too far from Borehamwood and as I type, it's absolutely chucking it down in biblical proportions. To say that the pitch will be heavy underfoot is an understatement. FWIW - If the match is on, I'm going to head up to the Bury Town vs Lowestoft Town match tomorrow and I'm going to wade into Lowestoft at 11/10 at my local Paddy Power. Given that Bury are scraping around in an attempt to get a squad together (plus they should have a couple suspended) and it looked as though Concord could have won by a good few more than 0-4 suggests, Lowestoft must be worth a decent sized bet at odds against. I've been impressed with Lowestoft since they signed the South African lad Williams in central defence. He has linked up well with Sam Gaughran and they look a strong defensive partnership. Adam Smith has just returned to full-back after getting injured pre-season and would get a game in most sides in the RPL. Also, Lowestoft's forward, Michael Frew is still suspended (he is utter ****e) and this also works in their favour as it's akin to Lowestoft playing with a man down when he dons the number 9 shirt. I really don't see Lowestoft losing this match and a pint or two of Green King beckons at The Ram.

Is Frew definitely out? I thought it was the end of his suspension that meant Sam Newson went back, although I'm a little shaky on the events. Also, Bury's suspensions won't kick in for a couple of weeks. Having said, it's a decent shout about Lowestoft, although the price is too close to my own to be a play. He's served two matches with the Bury match being his last (I assume that the Suffolk Cup match against Hadleigh doesn't count). Lowestoft didn't have any say regards Newson loan as Needham Market recalled him before the 3 months were up. They have signed Dawkin until the seasons end from Braintree, but whether he gets a run-out is another matter. The management at Lowestoft are stoic in their beliefs. Big Jack Defty, with Lee Smith and Henderson as foils will be offensively strong. Joe Francis out wide left can change a match, especially IIRC, the only dryish patch at Ram Meadow is a strip down each touchline. Lowestoft having Scott Mitchell back in midfield is a real fillip as he was wasted in central defence.
Darran
Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 28-29 Suffolk Cup should count. Gloucester City brought forward a County Cup match so one of our star players wasn't suspended for our FA Cup game against Leyton Orient. As for Lowestofts management I agree with that and I think its held them back from getting promoted before now.

Frew isn't listed on the FA suspensions site - www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/suspensions - so I guess he can play. Have to agree with addpea that the problem at Lowestoft is the management - they had the best side in the section when they were beaten to the title by Sutton and Billericay, and the problem this season is they are up against a side that's as strong as anything the Ryman Prem has ever seen. Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 28-29 Pitch inspection at Bash at lunchtime today - not looking good, considering the state of the pitch and the forecast. There'll probably be an early inspection at Bideford, too, as Bedworth need to be on the road in good time. The forecast there is even worse. Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 28-29 Has to be a question mark over Hereford/Mansfield tonight, but I've sold the time of the 2nd Mansfield goal at 76 with Sporting on the spreads. Hereford keep it pretty tight at home, but they do invite pressure from the more direct sides and they'll be coping with a bit of a reshuffle with the departure of Harry Pell. Mansfield have generally been effective away from home, and this trade would have made a profit in the last four away league games (and also the cup match at Lincoln). Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 28-29 Newport/Braintree off. Elsewhere in the BlueSQ Prem Hereford United - pitch sanded but not looking its best after heavy rain; probability of a morning inspection. Woking - no inspection planned and forecast is for light rain today. Kidderminster Harriers - nothing official planned but a fair bit of rain forecast for the early afternoon. Wrexham - pitch okay yesterday evening but more rain forecast.
mtom
Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 28-29 Can any of you guys tell me which gamehas the better chances of going over 3.5 goals tonight - Droylsden's game or Altrincham's one? I don't know where to find more information about the teams (I check their websites and twitter pages) and the only reason to shortlist only these two is because I know Droylsden are pretty bad and playing against a promotion chasers I'd expect them to concede a few, but surely they have goals in them at home. And Altrincham I remember were pretty solid in the beginning of the championship and were scoring for fun...the only thing that worries me is the pitch conditions in either game, so I'd appreciate any inputs. Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Jan 28-29 Bideford/Bedworth is off, but Bashley/Chesham is still on currently. Inspection at 2pm at Hereford/Mansfield. In the Ryman, inspection at Cray now, 2pm Bury and 3pm Leiston.

Alty have a decent pitch and like to play football; the worry is whether Boston can play their part in adding to the over 3.5 - boss Graham Drury is not a ten-behind-the-ball man but I'm not convinced by their attack yet and they might struggle. Droylsden are in the midst of a terrible run, and though I detect some shoots of improvement, they will be doing their best to keep it organised at the back; Worcester City had a bad result on Saturday and will also be keen to keep it tight, which - given a lumpy and damp pitch - will have a negative effect on goal expectations. I'd probably say Alty 2-0, Droylsden 1-1 - which doesn't help you at all, but as I say they are not my favoured markets.
Darran
Woking and Cray games off. Workington and Farnborough have both been deducted 4 points. Sent from my HTC Desire S using PL Forum
