England are back in India now for a five match ODI series which begins on Friday. All the matches are live on Sky and should give us a few clues ahead of the Champions Trophy later in the year. Schedule: [TABLE=width: 630]

Re: India vs England - ODI Series First bet for me is India to win the first ODI @ 1.69 with betfair. I really don't understand this price given it was the same they went off against Pakistan in the recent series. The England attack in the limited overs format is pretty, well, limited. If Pujara starts then they will have someone to anchor the innings, but even without him, I just don't see how England can skittle or even contain the Indians like Pakistan did. Some of the England bats are in good nick after the warm up but I think they will struggle to post enough runs or chase down totals throughout the series. Because of this I have also gone for the series whitewash 5-0 at 10/1 with Betfair. Think we could seruslt get a pasting during this series!

Re: India vs England - ODI Series Series preview: 3pts England to win ODI series 7/4 William Hill Normally India would look very good things in this series but with their batting the way it is I’m not so convinced that’s the case here. One thing England do have is a good bowling attack and while there’s no Jimmy Anderson, Graeme Swann or Stuart Broad in this series Steven Finn and James Tredwell are more than capable. Finn’s bounce and the pace of Stuart Meaker could discomfort the India batsmen just like we’ve seen against Pakistan and if England can put up the required amount of runs, and the two T20’s before Christmas give encouragement that they can, then there could well be a series win for the tourists here. Re: India vs England - ODI Series 1st ODI preview: 4pts Over 6.5 6's 8/11 Skybet This will be a small ground and I noted a quote from the curator which said ‘people pay to see 4’s and 6’s’ so I would expect to see lots of boundaries in this match and accessible boundaries so I like the look of the sixes line. Both sides have plenty of big hitters in their ranks and on boundaries which should be readily accessible I expect to see at least seven sixes. 3pts I.Bell Top England Series Batsman 7/2 William Hill Ian Bell has scored well in the warm up matches and I think his style is well suited to opening the batting in India. He's not afraid to lift the quicks over the top and he can find the good angles from the spinners in the powerplays too. With one man less out in the deep after the powerplay there will be a lot more space for Bell to chip the ball into and accumulate his runs. England have a few dangers in this series but Bell will have the best of the conditions along with Cook and with a ton behind him in the warm up matches giving him confidence I think Ian Bell is decent enough value to lead England's run charts in this series. 2pts J.Dernbach Top England Series Bowler 11/2 Stan James Jade Dernbach isn't my favourite player by any means but England seem to rate him and he gets to bowl in the times you need to bowl to have the best chance of taking wickets and that automatically makes his price higher than it should be. I've no idea why Stan James have Stuart Broad in their market when he misses the first three matches so realistically seam wise Tim Bresnan and Steven Finn are the dangers. James Tredwell is a danger with the spin option but given that Dernbach will bowl in the powerplays and at the death where he can pick up some cheap wickets I'll take the Surrey paceman here.

Re: India vs England - ODI Series 2nd ODI preview: 4pts England Over 3.5 6's 5/6 Ladbrokes England hit eight 6’s in Rajkot on Friday and I see no reason why they won’t continue to clear the ropes in this match. IPL matches on this ground were fairly high scoring and the last ODI to be played here contained 18 6’s so I fully expect England to score a few sixes on this ground too. The line for England sixes in this match is just 3.5 which is a line I prefer to the 7.5 for the match as we might well need India to get involved in the six hitting for the line to be covered. With England’s top 7 all capable of clearing the ropes now I expect them to hit at least four sixes. Re: India vs England - ODI Series 3rd ODI preview: 5pts Over 8.5 6's 5/6 William Hill I think we will see a lot of sixes hit in this match. This isn’t your normal cricket ground which regularly hosts international cricket in India. I expect the boundaries to be short in places and we saw in Rajkot in the opening ODI that both sides can clear the ropes. We saw 13 6’s hit in Rajkot and 8 in a one sided game in Kochi so I fully expect to see at least 9 6’s on what is talked as being a belting batting track here in Ranchi. Re: India vs England - ODI Series 4th ODI preview: 6pts Under 7.5 6's 5/6 Paddy Power If England are going to get back into this series then it will be in this match because the conditions are ideal for their seamers but the bet which stands out here is under 7.5 6’s. Never in the history of ODI’s on this ground has a match involving two tests sides contained eight sixes and from what we’ve seen in the series so far I’m far from convinced this will either. England will most likely be a bit more circumspect with the bat to ensure they’re not done up for 150 again while India’s big hitters come much deeper in their batting order. The boundaries here are big and the wicket offers something for the seamers so I don’t see eight sixes being hit here. Re: India vs England - ODI Series 5th ODI preview: 4pts Over 7.5 6's 5/6 William Hill This ground is high up in the mountains and at altitude so I expect the ball to fly a bit more here which should bring sixes into play. We’ve seen in the IPL that this isn’t the biggest ground in the world and when you factor in the altitude to the equation that should lead to the ropes being cleared a few times especially as there is no pressure of the series situation on the game. I’m confident with the hitters on show we’ll see 8 6’s here at the very least. Re: India vs England - ODI Series I thought the St Lucia ground in the Caribbean T20 was attractive but this one sure is stunning. Just taken a very small lay of 'completed match - yes' on Betfair at 1.04. Thought it was worth a go for sport on the off chance the snow comes down. Also considering opposing Morgan on his runs handicap of 26.5 with Ladbrokes. He has had a tough time in this ODI series after the first match ( 3, 10, 0, 41 ). Ravi Ashwin has got him the last two times and it looks as if ( according to cricinfo ) he will play again tomorrow. However I think Kev is right that the pressure is off now that the series is decided. If the players just have some fun and express themselves then Eoin might be the wrong man to be against. Could be an entertatining match.
