Re: NCAAB Picks 2012 -2013 Northwestern @ Illinois - NW to win by 21+pts [score 36-23 with 19:13 remaining] - 0.33pts @ 26.00 Bet365 Illinois were big favourites pre-match for this one, but having watched them lose to Wisconsin Badgers I had shortlisted NW on an alternative handicap as a bet for the day at around 5/4 but ultimately couldn't pull the trigger. Now, at HT, NW have had a dream first half although Illinois are still 9.5pt favourites for the 2nd half. I'm sticking my shrapnel on NW continuing in the same vein in the 2nd half - they've just won a half by 15pts, and are 25/1 to win the 2nd half by 6pts or more, which has tempted me to part with the little bit of change. Probably giving the little bit of money straight back, but worth it at the odds imo

They should keep up their 100% start to Conference play, but couldn't see any value in the prices. I'd have them a 4-5pt favourite, so the 4pt line is bang on for me. Factor in that USC come in on the back of a decent win (albeit v the Utes) plus the fact this will be their first game under interim coach Cantu, and it just looks like a game to leave well alone tbh. gl if you play :ok

Re: NCAAB Picks 2012 -2013 UC Davis Aggies @Cal State Northridge Matadors- Under 159pts - 3pts @ 1.91 Bet365 Unfortunately there's no alternative Points Totals available for this Great West game, as I would have been looking at selling a fair few points off this line and taking Under 153.5 if I could have. As it is, I'll have to make do with the 159 line, but will play it to 3pts. These are 2 of the lesser teams in the conference, and will realise this represents a chance to notch what would be UC Davis' 2nd or Cal State Northridge's 1st in the conference this season. You'd have to go back to Nov 28th for the last time a Davis game covered this line, and both teams' conference play so far this year has seen Northridge have 4 of 5 games under 150pts, and UC Davis have 4 out of 4 games under 140pts!!

This would be the type of night when you wonder why you bother :puke Purdue led for over 22 minutes, were ahead by as much as 7pts (a cushion of 16.5pts in bet terms), then went on a 2-14 run midway through the 2nd half and a 3-14 run towards the end of the half to ensure a 15pt Wolverines win. Cal Golden Bears miss 4 out of 6 free point throws in a 49-second spell inside the final 3 minutes, but still lead by 7 - enough to bring the bet in - with under 4 seconds remaining, only for Utah to score a garbage layup with 3.2 seconds on the clock. The Clemson/FloridaSt totals bet is then sunk because FloridaSt nail a 3-pointer as time expires and breaks the tie that sends the game to OT. A 10.23-pt swing on a combined 3.2 seconds of play, bah humbug! UCLA/Arizona are on 99pts with over 12:30 remaining so need them to shrink the hoops by 10% to have any chance of that Unders coming in. Whinge, whinge, whinge :) 2012-13: 8-13 (-1.44)

So at 8/5, this line looks to have a bit of value about it. Cue a 26-26 1st half followed by a 52-46 explosion in the 2nd lol

Carrying on the theme of the night... I wasn't too far off my prediction lol. With the pick'em line having dropped to 128.5 towards the end of the first half as the teams laboured their way to a 61pt half. That left me 82pts to 'play with' in the 2nd half. Sure enough a 3pt jump shot was the last score of the game to tip the total over my line :loon Brutal night. Fine margins!! 2012-13: 8-15 (-5.44)
