Re: Group B > Nov 21st (Arsenal, Schalke, Montpelier, Olympiakos) Low odds for Arsenal but I fancy us to win with a bit to spare in all honesty, something like 3-0 or 3-1 if we are as generous in defence as usual. Montpellier are a really average outfit, fair play for what they've done in the last year but I cant see them putting it up to us like Schalke did, we were outplayed at home vs the Germans. Giroud is bang in form right now aswell as he finally looks like adjusting to the demands of English football....must be motivated to get one against his old club.

Agreed. Arsenal should mop the floor with Montpellier at home. Less a statement about Arsenal, rather more about Montpellier not being the side they were last season. #15 in Ligue 1 against Arsenal's superior quality is a no-brainer, but I'm leaning towards a handicap, say -1.5 @ ~ 1.99.

Re: Group B > Nov 21st (Arsenal, Schalke, Montpelier, Olympiakos)

Both Arsenal and Shalke as a double look quite tempting I guess. Any info on the German side ? Maybe RedDevil can help :)
Schalke have been extremely inconsistent as of late--lost 0-2 away to Leverkusen on Sat, struggled to win 2-1 at home against a poor Bremen side before that, drew Arsenal after going down 0-2, lost 2-3 away to lowly Hoffenheim, and barely beat Nurnberg 1-0 at home. That said, they should win and so I took Schalke -1AH @ 1.77 (Bovada), mainly because the price was good. But personally, Schalke's form is a worry.

Re: Group B > Nov 21st (Arsenal, Schalke, Montpelier, Olympiakos) Montpellier is in trouble. They can not win in French league and the priority for them is now the Ligue 1. In addition, they know various problems in the team as, for example, Cyril Jeunechamp (defender) who hit a journalist. Everybody is shocked about that here. It reflects nervousness and doubts in this team. Arsenal is capable of the best and the worst but if they don't win this game, they could know difficulties in this group. So, a Arsenal win for me too

Re: Group B > Nov 21st (Arsenal, Schalke, Montpelier, Olympiakos) I watched most of Leverkusen v Schalke on Sat and I thought Schalke were cack. Leverkusen missed a penalty in the second half too (don't ask how much that cost me!) but were by far the better team, Schalke offered virtually no threat at all in the second half..Farfan (I think?) also had a big strop at the manager when he got taken off. Olympiacos looked decent away to Arsenal when they eventually lost 3-1, Arsenal could easily have slipped up there and only got the third with the last kick of the game.

Re: Group B > Nov 21st (Arsenal, Schalke, Montpelier, Olympiakos) 4pts Arsenal (-1) to beat Montpellier Evs Stan James Montpellier are in very poor form right now both domestically and in Europe and even though Arsenal are far from great I expect them to have way too much for the French side here. Arsenal are hard to play at the Emirates in Europe at the best of times let alone against a side who are as out of form as Montpellier are so I expect the hosts to win and win by more than a goal. Re: Group B > Nov 21st (Arsenal, Schalke, Montpelier, Olympiakos) Key stat Arsenal have never defeated French opposition at home in the champions league. Always a first and if arsenal can keep the attacking football going like have done so many times this season, arsenal will get that first 1 against french oppositions. Maybe worth backing if you fancy momtpelller at +2goals. can see both scorering in what should be home win. or bigger price ht/ft draw/arsenal. In the other game, i may do Olympiakos/Schalke HT/FT.

I'll be all over the same bet here, for the same sorts of reasons. Montpellier might have struck a run of form, but I think Arsenal will have far too much for them. Sure they have their frailties and that may well see them concede, but in attack they should be far too good. Giroud, Podolski and Cazorla are all playing well and should cause more then their fare share of problems. Unfortunately Walcott will be missing but I can't see that impacting the sides performance too much. They have a ready made replacement in Oxlade-Chamberlaine and I'm sure he'll be eager to step up with a decent performance. Arsenal to win by a couple for me. Arsenal -1 @ 1.83 Sportsbet

Re: Group B > Nov 21st (Arsenal, Schalke, Montpelier, Olympiakos) hi guys, this is my first time posting, with the schalke-olympiakos game im leaning on kostas mitroglou for anytime goal scorer, he was born in germany and he'll have alot of family and friends in the stands, and also a few german clubs are eyeing him out as a potential transfer, hence the extra motivation to play well tonight.

Re: Group B > Nov 21st (Arsenal, Schalke, Montpelier, Olympiakos) *Olympiakos WIN @ 7/1 Skybet* The price is too big in my opinion. I feel they should be around 4/1 or 9/2 at the most. Schalke have some big injury worries. Afellay, Metzelder and Uchida are not match fit, but Uchida apparently could start. Olympiakos have rested players for this match, which is the biggest match of their season so far, as they have to get a result against Schalke tonight, so they should be very motivated. I watched some of the game v Leverkusen where Schalke lost 2-0, and they played woefully. Mitroglou for the Greeks has scored 4 goals in his last 5 champions league matches, and he will give Schalke some problems tonight. Schalke have also only kept 1 clean sheet in their last 11 European matches at home. Yes, Schalke are clear favourite's, but for my the Greeks are not no-hoper's here, they are in good form undefeated in Greece since last April, and will fancy their chances tonight.

Re: Group B > Nov 21st (Arsenal, Schalke, Montpelier, Olympiakos) Arsenal -1.5 @ 2.26 pinnacle Arsenal generally play well at home, especially in the CL games, and should not have too many problems in beating Montpellier here. The French side have lost both of their home games to Olympiakos and Arsenal by the same scoreline of 2-1, while they lost 3-1 away to Olympiakos and drew 2-2 at Schalke. Their domestic form has been similar to their CL form, as they have been conceding too many goals, and even though Arsenal did not play well against them in the reverse fixture, they still managed to beat them. Arsenal will be much more confident coming into this game after beating their rivals Tottenham on the weekend with the opportunity to enhance their chances of progressing to the next round of the CL with a win here. They will have a strong line up for this game, with Walcott the only one missing of not, and their motivation levels should be pretty high Schalke v Olympiakos over 3.5 @ 2.61 pinnacle Schalke lead the group and are two points ahead of Olympiakos with both teams being amongst the goals in their CL matches. Schalke ave won both of their road games as they beat Olympiakos 2-1 and Arsenal 2-0, while they drew 2-2 at home to both Arsenal and Montpellier. Olympiakos beat Montpellier 3-1 and lost 2-1 at Schalke in their two home games in the CL while they beat Montpellier 2-1 and lost 3-1 at Arsenal in their two road games. With both teams scoring goals and neither side able to keep clean sheets, then can see this game featuring some goals in it

I dunno if the Greeks will win, but it is very true that they are no mugs. Oli is a very CL-experienced and classy team, and I just don't get them still being so under-estimated by bookies. Big plus for Oli is that they waste little effort in the local league where they are long way ahead of competition, so they are free to focus entirely on CL. While Schalke for example, had another very hard game in Leverkusen this weekend. I don't know if I will be brave enough to go for away victory, but definitely consider handicaps on Oli.

Metzelder (long term), Uchida (regular defender), Hoger (back up midfielder) are injured, Farfan and Afellay (key players) have minor injuries, but will probably play for home sidee, On the other hand, the Greeks have no important absences.

Re: Group B > Nov 21st (Arsenal, Schalke, Montpelier, Olympiakos) Hilton, regular defender for Montpellier, seems to be a big loss. He also was rather strong in the first fixture. Any french to confirm this? I think Arsenal played rather good start of the season and suddenly dropped after the international break in october. Also Girourd did take some time to settle in as the wingers cant score all the goals every game. Monpellier is fighting back in the league but has no chance of qualifying here. If they are down a goal they might break down I think arsenal wont stop going forward in this game as they have rgained confidence that they will build on here. Arsenal did crash in the past some teams in the cl here and I think its quiet possible that this might happen here again. Espacially with girourd finding the net lately. tough Arsenal still had problems vs tottenham until adebayor was sent off. What makes me also confident in a handicap bet is that scezny is abck in goal as Mannone always looked a bit shaky, espacially in organizing his defence.

Re: Group B > Nov 21st (Arsenal, Schalke, Montpelier, Olympiakos) Arsenal - Montpellier Arsenal -1.5 2.10 bet365 Arsenal team is in very good mood after big win against local rivals Tottenham 5-2 in weekend. I think Arsenal will start the pressure form the start of the game against Montpellier. Wenger will take no risks to not win this game. Montpellier showed that they are not team for CL. Thay are in bad form in Liga 1 too(14 position). They travel to London without:Younes Belhanda (suspended), Hilton (groin), John Utaka (thigh), Benjamin Stambouli (viral infection) and Karim Aït-Fana (knee). Arsenal are without Fabianski, Walcott, Diaby, Rosicki and Santos. Because of that facts i think Arsenal win with margin. GL.

Re: Group B > Nov 21st (Arsenal, Schalke, Montpelier, Olympiakos) Arsenal v Montpellier, Over 2.5 goals Home team - 13/8 Coral Think this will be a makeable bet, Montpellier seem to be having problems on and off the field. They are not having the best of seasons already. Giroud has hit a bit of form and Gervinho is back from injury to add more potent threat to the Montpellier defence. Arsenal are still not through as well so I see them wanting to go gunning for the three points in their final home game of the group stages. I feel there is value as bookies are offering around 2.25-2.625. Good luck

Arsenal to win and over2.5 goals 1.86 @ Betfair - Arsenal are scoring goals for fun atm and will be on a high after Saturday. They have made one change from Saturdays starting 11 with Oxlade-Chamberlain coming in for Walcott, however fatigue should not be an issue as they have had a 4 day rest. This is a big game for Arsenal who are 2nd in the group but Olympiakos are only a point behind in third so a win for Arsenal is essential tonight. Montpellier are basically out so can play freely without pressure tonight. However I still believe Arsenal will have too much for them but I fancy Montpellier to grab a goal against the dodgy Arsenal defence so over 2.5 looks appealing and an Arsenal win and over 2.5 goals combined is 1.86 @ Betfair. Correct Score: Arsenal 3-1 Montpellier 12/1 @ Betfair - As I said before, Arsenal are scoring freely ATM and I can see them scoring a few tonight with Giroud and Podolski now in form and Giroud especially will be keen to score against his former club. However, Despite Arsenals quality attack they still look vulnerable in defence so I fancy Montpellier to score tonight and 3-1 looks like a likely score to me.
