Re: Group C > Nov 21 (Malaga, AC Milan, Anderlecht, Zenit SP) I'd like to some thoughts on backing Zenit against Malaga, especially from those who know something about the Russian side. The odds for the home team have fallen to ~1.83, but considering Malaga's dreadful form and the fact they have all but won the group, I feel this could be fairly simple victory for Zenit. Traveling to Russia could be a factor as well. Again, I welcome any and all thoughts as I have no idea about Zenit.

Re: Group C > Nov 21 (Malaga, AC Milan, Anderlecht, Zenit SP) I personally think Zenit are very over-rated. They struggled to beat Anderlecht at home, and Anderlecht beat them last time out. They play with no fluency or passion from what i have seen of them. I would be surprised if Malaga didn't have the ability to get a result here, but then again Russia can be a tough place to go. I certainly would not be backing Zenit at that price though.

Re: Group C > Nov 21 (Malaga, AC Milan, Anderlecht, Zenit SP) Malaga have already qualified for the Last 16 in the Champions League. Los Boquerones have only ever lost one match in European competition (W9, D4, L1). But they have won just one of their last 6 matches across all competitions (W1, D3, L2). Malaga are without Carlos Kameni (illness), Nacho Monreal (back), Sergio Sanchez (hamstring) and Julio Baptista (achilles), while Manuel Iturra is suspended. Coach Manuel Pellegrini has opted to rest Joaquin and Javier Saviola.

Re: Group C > Nov 21 (Malaga, AC Milan, Anderlecht, Zenit SP) 4pts Zenit to beat Malaga 5/6 Ladbrokes The Spanish side aren’t in the greatest form at the minute and that will give Zenit fans some hope going into this match. It’s win or bust for them as far as their Champions League campaign is concerned and while I think they’ll have a few hairy moments and might make hard work of it I do think the home side will win this match against a largely second string Malaga side. There’s just about enough value on the home win to tempt me in. Kameni is not their first goalkeeper, Julio Baptista is injured no kidding he is out how long a year or something, Sergio Sanchez, Iturra and Joaquin didn't play in first game and Malaga won that match with 3-0 so what is your point with missing players?

Zenit will win! Full square for home side today (Hulk is back!) and reserve square for guests. 2-0

Re: Group C > Nov 21 (Malaga, AC Milan, Anderlecht, Zenit SP) Zenit St Petersburg -1 (EH) @ 3.10 sportsbet Must win game for Zenit if they are willing to progress to the next stage, and will be helped by a understrength Malaga side that has several players out for this game who did not make the trip east. Not that they are in very good form at the moment, so deciding to rest some players with an important home game against Valencia on the weekend, suggests that they are not focusing much on this game, as they have a five point lead in their group with two game to go. Zenit will be relying on Hulk here, and he is the difference on paper here, and if he gets the right service, then believe he will score here

Fernandez, Portillo, Santa Cruz

Re: Group C > Nov 21 (Malaga, AC Milan, Anderlecht, Zenit SP) *Anderlecht WIN @ 17/9 Pinnacle* I am not sure if i would fancy backing Milan at those odds, they are in terrible form at the moment with only 2 wins from their last 9 matches in all competitions. This is a huge match for both sides, as a win for Anderlect will leapfrog them past Milan and into 2nd place with one game to go, so it is more of a must win game for Anderlecht, as Milan would probably be happy enough with a draw with Zenit at home in the last group game. Milan have lost 3 of their last 4 Champions League games away from home, and have only won 1 of their last 8. Anderlecht will take spirit after their 1-0 win at home to Zenit last game, and they have won their last 6 games on the trot, they are a team in some form, and they are the value tonight in my opinion.

Re: Group C > Nov 21 (Malaga, AC Milan, Anderlecht, Zenit SP) I'm thinking Zenit/Malaga Over 2.5 Goals today at around evens. Zenit will need to go for the win and could well score a couple, whilst Malaga certainly have the capability to at least grab a goal. Any thoughts?

Re: Group C > Nov 21 (Malaga, AC Milan, Anderlecht, Zenit SP) HI EVERYONE i have watched pretty much every of the milan game so far this season and agree with you guys when saying that milan has improve a lot. They team is well balanced and dominate possession easily, they also have great passing moves and with boateng and Montolivo bossing the midfield one could think that Milan is finally back on track but that is not my opinion. First and foremost Milan attack is a disaster, sharaoui is covering milan offensive problems as pato, bojan, and pazzini are clearly out of form. The other problem with this milan its their central defense the worst in milan for years, Mexes is useless and has been kicked out of the national team. constant is interesting when attacking but lacks positional awareness when defending. all in all, don't write anderlecht out of the equation game so easily. Bookmakers are not silly and if the price is high on milan its for one good reason: they are not as good as some people tends to think. PICK ANDERLECHT @2.88 with Bet 365

My bad about Joaquin I'm sorry for that. Iturra came from the bench on 2-0 score, Saviola with Joaquin are their key players I agree with you. Monreal is regular defender but they have good substitution for him, he didn't play against AC Milan in both game. My point is don't mislead people here with injury player if you talk about them write how important are they because Kameni and Baptista are not relevant here not at all. also they show good football without Iturra and Monreal but Joaquin and Saviola are big blow. I would say home win and under 2.5 good option here

Re: Group C > Nov 21 (Malaga, AC Milan, Anderlecht, Zenit SP) Look, all these cup / champions league / Euro League games have one overriding factor ...... MOTIVATION What display will Malaga give, as they have already qualified ? No motivation = lesser performance = game to avoid . End of story.

I don't recommend this. I actually don't recommend ever playing overs when Malaga is concerned - you can check their stats and see why. When you play overs, you better have two teams motivated to win, attack, and search for goals. In this case, Malaga practically does not care, so even if they concede a goal, I don't see them rushing forward. Something like Man United yesterday - they did play well, but after they conceded the goal, they never really pushed very hard, cause they did not want to waste so much resource and risk injuries against very packed and aggressively pressing Turkish defense. Moreover, Zenit does not really need huge victory here - all they need is three points. Once they take the lead, I expect them mostly focusing on killing off the tempo of the game and slowly keeping possession of the ball. Also, Zenit are not very high-scoring team.

In this case' date=' Malaga practically does not care, so even if they concede a goal, I don't see them rushing forward.[/quote'] I can see that outcome. Could easily be a narrow Zenit win, say 1-0 or 2-0 with Malaga ultimately unconcerned and Zenit getting the win.

But what about Zenit then? They have a good chance to qualify with a win, so they should be very motivated. Then, you would have motivated vs unmotivated which to me says "take the home team". So I did: Zenit -1.5 @ 3.1. Also the line-ups suggest that Malaga will be fine losing: no Isco, Saviola, Iturra, etc. Plus what Spanish side wants to play in cold-*ss Russia?
