MPLouis
Re: Blue Square Premier > 9th November - 10th November Alfreton v Newport Friday 19.45 Newport look good value at 2.42 with Pinnacle. 1st v 17th. Newport in much better form than Alfreton, who haven't won for four games and have only won once at home this season - http://uk.soccerway.com/matches/2012/11/09/england/conference-national/alfreton-town-fc/newport-county-afc/1311209/ 2-way bet (stake refunded if it's a draw) - Newport AH0 1.78 Pinnacle
kevshat
Re: Blue Square Premier > 9th November - 10th November 3pts Alfreton to beat Newport 21/10 Blue Square I’m not sure a win over a pretty abject Cambridge side constitutes Newport being back into form and with that in mind I think it could be worth siding with the little bit of value that there is on Alfreton in this match. They have no worries when it comes to scoring goals and they should get given chances against this Newport defence so if they can get their finishing boots on and be a bit more clinical there’s definitely something in this match for them. How can they have no worries when it comes to scoring goals and yet need to be more clinical? That'll teach me for not proof reading before I post :$. That should read they have 'some' worries when it comes to scoring goals not 'no' worries :ok. The sentiment remains the same. I'm not convinced walloping a woeful Cambridge side constitutes that Newport are back in form. Time will tell I guess.
Darran
Re: Blue Square Premier > 9th November - 10th November As bad as Cambridge are if you put 6 past any team in the league that is going to give you a big boost after a slight dip in form. No doubt it will end up being a draw now and we will all do our money.

Darran
Re: Blue Square Premier > 9th November - 10th November So Newport get a gift of a goal to get them back in a game they hadnt really featured. They then missed a sitter and a minute late the lino gives one of the worse penalty decision you will ever see. One it wasn't a foul and two even if it was a foul it wasn't inside the box. Darran
Re: Blue Square Premier > 9th November - 10th November No wonder Yate scored 6 past Newport given the way they have defended tonight. Odd given how well they seem to have defended up to now this season. Alfreton had only scored nine goals at home prior to tonight's game and three of those came against Luton. Another funny BSP result
Darran
Re: Blue Square Premier > 9th November - 10th November Well done Kev you have got the money tonight although I still think your reasoning was wrong, but think Newport turned up expecting to win tonight and Alfreton just wanted it more. It really should have been 2-2 at half time and if that had of happened the 2nd half would have been interesting, but really can't complain too much about the result. Alfreton were the better side. Alfreton had some luck before half time when Newport missed a sitter and then Alfreton got a soft penalty, but they certainly looked the better side tonight. Darran
Re: Blue Square Premier > 9th November - 10th November Certainly think it says a lot about both defences that neither side created much more than the goals that were scored

Cheers. Which part was wrong? The 'beating a woeful Cambridge doesn't necessarily constitute them being back to form' bit or the 'if Alfreton can be more clinical there's something in the game for them' bit? Never saw the game but your comments suggest that was exactly what happened no?

Dont think it was really them being clinical tonight apart from maybe the first as the other three they couldnt really miss. Hard to tell about the Cambridge form as I didnt see that game, no doubt though now Ive opposed them they will go and win as that seems to be the story of my season. I see what you mean. For me it was their results against us and Wrexham which caught my eye. For me they are a side who perform well in matches they have nothing to lose (think they won at Wrexham last year too?) in and I was never convinced about Newport and certainly haven't been in the last month. As I say I never watched the game so I've no idea if they played well/better with no pressure on them but happy with the outcome. I agree with you on Macclesfield, in fact I tweeted earlier today about what I was missing as to why they are/were 17/10 because I couldn't see anything to suggest they should be that price. Tonight's result only further confirms that for me.
kevshat
Re: Blue Square Premier > 9th November - 10th November One bet in our game for those who think the 4/6 on us is a little short but think we'll win could be for us to win from behind at 15/2 with Paddy Power. We've conceded the first goal a ridiculous 11 times in 19 matches this season and have turned around five of those I think it is into wins. It's clearly becoming an issue now even if we have the character to turn it around and with Dartford starting to fall away a little bit if we can get a head of steam up in the second half one could easily bring two and hopefully from my point of view a few more. The concern would be Crawford is suspended for Dartford but if the season so far is anything to go by the 15/2 could certainly give a run for money for small stakes. If we beat Orient we have got them in the Cup and I certainly saw enough to think we might beat them as their defence and keeper looked shocking. Says plenty that Newport could have got at least a point playing badly with slightly better defending and a better decision from the lino re the pen

Shipsupstreets
Re: Blue Square Premier > 9th November - 10th November Not much on the spreads for me today but I've taken two trades. I've sold the time of the 2nd Lincoln City goal at Barrow. Lincoln have been breezily free-scoring in the past few weeks and while this may not be setting for the tone for the rest of the season they could do well today against a Barrow side that has lost the art of strangling and stifling games. Lincoln's line up looks a bit more stable at the moment. The second Lincoln goal is a sell at 75 with Sporting and Spreadex. Another side who are getting the best out of the bodies available is Stockport County. Although they'll find life difficult at Forest Green today they have every reason for thinking they can notch - the home side have kept just one clean sheet thus far. Stockport have the players who can feed Danny Hattersley, and that supply line comes from out wide, where FGR look a little vulnerable to me. I've bought Hattersley's player goal minutes at 14 with Sporting.
Darran
After seeing hyde blow a 2 goal lead today its fair to say I have had enough for punting on the bsp. The results this season have been far to random for my liking and chances are I will be taking a break from it. Shipsupstreets
Re: Blue Square Premier > 9th November - 10th November A minimal loss on the spreads today: Lincoln's 2nd came in with an 11pt profit, but that was offset by the 14 point loss on Hattersley as I'd covered both trades at the same unit stake.
