Re: Serie A > Oct 30 - Nov 1 Early thoughts here; Palermo could be worth a look against Milan. Whilst they’ve had two 0-0’s in the last couple of games performances have been good and the lack of mistakes defensively has positive. They really should have won both games, missing good opportunities with Miccoli guilty against Siena. Still they are getting into positive positions and actually look quite fluent when they string some passes together. That’s something we rarely saw Genoa doing at the weekend against Milan, and they failed to take the opportunity to test them. However Milan do still look shakey, there attacking threat was quite limited with a rusty Pato up top and they are too overly relient on El Sha at the moment. The abilities of Milan’s back three is still a concern and the midfield is light defensively with the exception of De Jong. If Palermo do what Genoa didn’t then they could well have some success here. Certainly in the likes of Morgenella, Brienza, Illicic and Barreto they have midfielders who are happy to makes runs forward and link with Miccoli which could trouble this Milan defence. If the price rises then +0.5 on Palermo could be a take, but I may consider the +0.25 line. The price on Cagliari has already fallen and I’m a bit wary of taking anything below 2.0, but they should have the quality to get the win here. I’m very impressed with Cagliari under Pulga, they’ve been defensively strong willing to soak up pressure and then looking to attack at sporadic intervals. They don’t have a great attack but when they do turn it on they have created chances and ultimately got goals. Siena just don’t have enough going forward to overly trouble Cagliari and at the back will concede chances and goals. They’ll be weakened in both these areas by the loss of Felipe through injury and without D’Agostino who missed the game on the weekend and may well miss this one to. Pescara may also be a little bit long for their clash with Chievo. Both teams are pretty useless so this is likely to become a cagey, scrappy and ultimately tight affair. Chievo are really struggling this season and will not be helped by the continued absence of half of their back 4 with Sardo and Cesar still missing. They were the third lowest scorers in the league last year and things haven’t really improved for them upfront either. With the talisman Pellisier out they look particularly toothless, so it will be interesting to see if he can get fit in time for this match. Overall they lack any sort of imagination or invention and whilst Pescara aren’t great themselves they do have the players who are better in that regard and should be looking to take advantage of a depleted Chievo back line. Both Inter and Lazio should be getting wins, but prices are not quite there at the moment. Samp are still struggling with injuries and whilst Romero and Gastadello do return, they’ll still most likely be without Obiang, Maresa and Munari is suspended too. Its these losses in midfield that do concern me as I don’t think with Tissone and Soriano in there that they’ll be able to match the quality and strength of Inters central midfield and the home side should be able to get a good grip on this match. With Cassano no doubt eager to impress and Milito and Palacio both in the goals they should be getting a comfortable win here in my opinon. Torino’s lack of goal threat has been discussed plenty of times in these threads and it still remains an issues. Cerci for me is the only one capable of creating chances, and any half decent defence as Lazio’s is should be able to deal with this limited threat. Assuming they can then Lazio will only need a goal to two to get the win and even without Hernanes or Ledesma they should still be capable of doing this. They may have to go more direct, but Torino may struggle with this without Ogbonna, and if Klose and Rocchi start together then there is plenty of aerially threat to benefit for a more direct approach. The price on Lazio is rising at the moment so I’ll see how that pans out. Anything around 1.80 is worth a look in my view This is much as I’ve looked at so far, still need to consider Roma and Udinese games on the back of last nights match.

Re: Serie A > Oct 30 - Nov 1 Lazio looks like a slip up waiting to happen. Without no Ledesma or Hernanes I think they will struggle to create. It was a tough game at Fiorentina on the weekend and think there is great value on Torino here. Torino double chance @ 2.10 - 4pts Udinese will also be on a high after last nights great win over Roma. Catania exerted alot of energy against Juventus and think this will be easy pickings for Udinese. Udinese to win @ 1.91 - 10pts

Re: Serie A > Oct 30 - Nov 1 Man this card is looking pretty ugly, talk about the wrong teams at the wrong times, I’m really struggling to see anything that appeals. I think the Palermo V Milan game has been priced fairly accurately, it’s a nasty game to get involved with imo. As Dylan has said Palermo are playing some good stuff at the moment but struggling to get goals. If Milan are ever going to go on a good run of form with Allegri still in charge then the time is now. I don’t particularly rate either teams defence and if it came down to a shoot out I would favour Milan to come out on top. Not much value in the odds so it’s a no bet for me. Atalanta V Napoli price looks about right, Atalanta with GK Consigli and LB Peluso out. If they were both fit I’d want Atalanta +0.50 @ 5/6 to make a play so you can see this is going to be a no bet aswell. Napoli not backable here imo. Cagliari V Siena has got 0-0 or 1-1 written all over it, I know Dylan doesn’t rate Siena but they are at least tough to break down if the opposition isn’t blessed with offensive threat. Cagliari on a nice run with new coach but they could well hit an unexpected wall here. Cagliari @ EVS looks about right to me, X @ 12/5 holds the value in my eyes. Dylan has mentioned Chievo’s defensive issues, it’s a blow when you consider they’re one of the poorest sides in the division at the best of times. The big question is can Pescara take advantage? They really are playing with the weight of the world on their shoulders at the moment, some exciting individuals in offence but very little team cohesion both mentally and tactically. Pescara +0.75 @ 9/10 does hold a bit of value imo but only on the basis that this game could be an opportunity to turn around their dreadful form, Stroppa on a knife-edge, highly speculative. Inter V Sampdoria is a game where I would like to back Samp on a + but if Maresca and Obiang are still crocked then no way. Juventus V Bologna: Next! I can’t really bring myself to back Torino at Lazio despite the absence of Ledesma and Hernanes for the home side. Ace Ventura may have to revert to being a pet detective before long. Parma V Roma is hard to fathom through lack of knowledge while I don’t see massive +ev on Udinese at home to Catania. Catania have been pretty abject away from home thus far so I can understand people backing Udinese. I can’t really argue with it, just not the play for me. Finally Genoa V Fiorentina is the only game which really interests me, both teams coming into this off the back of different results but home/away dynamic should be considered here. Fiorentina are way better at home than on the road where they see less of the ball. Genoa have recently changed their manager and by all accounts showed a somewhat pathetic display at Milan over the weekend which is the main concern. Even so a low stake play on Genoa +0 @ 4/3 could be considered here, I’ll be studying this one closely in the buildup. All in all a lot of games to avoid this midweek, no automatic bets but I think Cagliari V Siena to be a draw isn’t a bad play.

Vargas and Jankovic could well be out for Genoa so it looks like the long price is justified at present as there seems to be a mini injury crisis going on at the club.

Yeah a draw maybe is a good call but under 2.5 sounds much safer

I don't play the unders/overs market' date=' under 2.5 is logical but it's priced accordingly, not much value to be had.[/quote'] Hi Das, I just curious why you prefer to leave the over/under s market alone ? I find it an easier place to predict things, especially as the draw is not a factor... Neil.

I specialise in the asian handicap market because that's the market I can read the best and put the knowledge I have to best use. I find that the overs/unders market is harder to gauge, the bookies have it priced very well and I struggle to see where the margins are in it. I've heard a few people say they play the unders/overs market with success but I feel it's a pretty awful area to find good margins in over the long term. That doesn't mean to say it can't be done, it's just not for me personally. I may expand into the BTS market next season, I'm running the numbers this year and I think it will be a lot more viable than overs/unders. You'll get different opinions on what markets are best to operate in for football, for me it's whatever suits the individual, find out what works for you and stick to it.

Re: Serie A > Oct 30 - Nov 1 Well perhaps foolishly I’m going to go against some on here and taking Lazio -0.5AH 1.79 at Bet Victor (4 /10 units) I can understand why the absence of Hernanes would spike interest in betting against Lazio but when you look deeper at the Lazio team I still feel they have the weapons to trouble an understrength Torino. Ventura has confirmed in his press conference today that Ogbonna is unlikely to make this match, with the focus of his recovery being next weekend’s match against Napoli. He’ll be joined on the side lines by his fellow defender Masiello meaning two of the first choice back four will be absence for this one. They’ll also be without Vives, one of the more defensive midfielders Torino have. Without Hernanes I’m sure Lazio will go for a more direct approach. They’ll put the extra man up top, probably Flocarri or maybe Rocchi with both options suiting a more direct style as they’ll get close to Klose and pick up the loose balls / flick ons. Lulic will play wide left and he’s a direct player and will get balls into the box and Candreva will ensure plenty of supply as well. The two full backs are also quite attacking. It may not be as good to watch as normal but it should be effective against a slightly makeshift Torino back line. Gonzalez and Mauri should also be too strong in centre mid and make sure Lazio have plenty of possession and that Lullic and Candreva see plenty of the ball. Torino have problems going forward as I’ve mentioned. Cerci is the only creator and can be marshalled by a half decent defence. Indeed with injury doubts over Meggiorini and Srgina, there is a chance that Cerci will have to play alongside Bianchi in the centre of attack which is not a role that I feel suits him. Cagliari to win 1.95 at Ladbrokes ( 2 / 10 units) Smaller stakes on this one, mainly due to the goal scoring issues Caglairi have had of late. However I’m happy to read that not only are Pinilla and Cossu back for this one (they’ll both probably start on the bench), Pulga is ready to give Sau a starting berth and he’s an attacker who interests me a lot. Last season at Juve Stabia in Serie B he netted 21 times and after a few years of being turfed around the lower leagues he looks ready for a crack at Serie A and so he should be determined and confident. He certainly offers more of a goal scoring threat than any of the other strikers at the club who have underperformed over the last year or so, and I’m more confident about them getting goals with him on the pitch rather than bloody Ibarbo or Ribiero. The rest of the Cagliari side is looking pretty solid at the moment. Pulga has done good work shoring up the defence and its now three clean sheets in a row. There’s been some good individual performances including from Ariaudo who is out for this one, but as a team they all work hard andk now their positions. The midfield three also protects the defence very well. They may come unstuck against the better teams but with the limited threats that Siena pose I’ll be surprised if they were threatened too much. :hope

Re: Serie A > Oct 30 - Nov 1 I'm going for a big treble tomorrow. I just cannot see Juventus, Inter or Napoli slipping up. All sides they are playing have key injuries and I don't think they will put up too much of a fight. Injuries/Suspensions are; Atalanta - Gianpaolo Bellini, Daniele Capelli, Michele Ferri, Davide Biondini, Adriano, Ivan Radovanovic, Luca Cigarini and Federico Peluso Bologna - Diamanti, Diego Perez, GianlucaCurci, Dejan Stojanovic, Cesare Natali, Robert Acquafresca and HenryGimenez Sampdoria - Pedro Obiang, Nicola Pozzi, Nenad Krsticic, Enzo Maresca and Maxi Lopez Inter are flying and rested Cassano last game. Juventus have Marchiso and Vidal out but I think this will benefit them because Juve's midfield has become predictable. Napoli missed alot of chances against Chievo on Sunday and with Cavani still out the strikers will be keen to correct this. Napolis midfield will dominate this match match especially with Cigarini out because without him they have no other playmaker in the Atalanta squad. £300 stake returns a profit of £812! Easy Money!

Re: Serie A > Oct 30 - Nov 1 Dylan has provided good info as usual, Pinilla and Cossu being back should be a boost for Cagliari. I like Marco Sau, I believe he's a striker with good natural ability and should be given his chance in Serie A, intelligent player who has composure infront of goal. Ibarbo comment made me laugh, he's only 22 so hopefully he can improve but he has really personified Cagliari's issues infront of goal so far. In light of the Cagliari convocati I won't be backing Siena +0.50 which is something I was considering today, even if team news was positive it would still be a very marginal one. Cagliari are clearly the better side but I do have concerns over their ability to break down a stubborn Siena, if the home side make it 4 wins in a row it'll be a good result for them. I wont argue with the Lazio selection either, they still have players which can hurt a depleted Torino, Candreva has really impressed so far this campaign. No bets for me this round but I do wish Bet365 would get their bloody streaming issues sorted, it's really not helping matters at the momment.

Re: Serie A > Oct 30 - Nov 1 Lazio v Torino I am ALL OVER Lazio here.. Regardless of the lack of creativity in midfield (on paper that is) the home side is a better team by a country mile. Candreva, Mauri, Gonzalez & Lulic is a very capable midfield, with Klose and Floccari up top. Only few days ago Torino were whistled off the pitch in their home game v Parma where they were comfortably beaten. Add to that the absence of the main center-back pairing, for a side whos only positive is being defensively capable (5th best defense in the league), playing away in Rome against a side expected to compete for the Scudetto. Torino had a good start to the league after being freshly promoted but since that little run, goals have been hard to come by.. I struggle to see any game plan by which Ventura's boys will take any points here. I think Lazio could cover the -1 handicap here tomorrow and keep a clean sheet to go with it. Home win :ok

He isn't. The Torino manager Giampeiro Ventura confirmed in his press conference yesterday that Ogbonna, Vives and apparently Massielo too will all be out for this one. Ogbonna isn't ready to do the full 90 minutes yet http://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Squadre/Torino/ http://www.corrieredellosport.it/calcio/serie_a/torino/2012/10/30-275745/Torino%2C+Ventura%3A+«Vives+ed+Ogbonna+indisponibili» As a general point its much better to use Italian sites for team news than whosscored.com or betinfo.com. Way more up to date, reliable and in the know.

Re: Serie A > Oct 30 - Nov 1 Chievo vs Pescara = 1 (1.75) stake 7/10 Chievo position 19 ° points 7 Pescara position 17 ° points 8 Preview: Chievo: suspended Bentivoglio (midfielder 0/0), Vacek (midfielder 4/0); unavailable: Paloschi (striker 0/0), Squizzi (goalkeeper 0/0), Sardo (defender 7/0), Cesar (defender 6/0). Pescara: unavailable: Savelloni (goalkeeper 0/0), Crescenzi (defender 0/0), Brugman (striker 0/0), Terlizzi (defender 3/1). Chievo has a score in-house w2-d1-l2 goals scored 6 goals against 7 while Pescara has a score out of the house w1-d1-l2 goals scored 3 goals against 6. The home team in previous years has always been classified aquasi the center of the table, but this year the tournament has started disastrously ended with the dismissal of Di Carlo. With the arrival of new coach Corini things are changing even if he lost the last game away with a score of 1-0 against Napoli, one of the candidates to win the league. Pescara has a unique and amazing championship in Serie B but with the departure of its gems denotes a difficult time facing teams level. This is a very important game for both teams as they are for the time being in the relegation zone, but the greater experience of Chievo in my opinion will be decisive. Quote of the sign 1 down on many books. :hope

Re: Serie A > Oct 30 - Nov 1 Although most of people here don't bet in over/under market, I just wanna know your impressions about Parma - Roma. I know that Roma played crazy matches lately with high scores but does it mean that over has to be priced around 1.50? Head to head between them says that in last 6 matches there have been only 2 over 2.5. I see not many missing players in gazzetta. I simply don't understand this odds.

Re: Serie A > Oct 30 - Nov 1 Current form of the teams makes me happy to see odds of 1.62 for BTS.Roma concedes a lot lately but scores more as well as Parma do.Home team ahve scored in every of their last 10 games at home and Roma right now will be an easy target.I think over 5.5 yellow cards will also be a good option given the fact that 4 of the last 6 Roma games went over 5.5 and in the other two there were 5 yellow cards.Odds with bet365 have already fallen from 2.10 in the morning to 1.9 right now.GL

Re: Serie A > Oct 30 - Nov 1

Although most of people here don't bet in over/under market, I just wanna know your impressions about Parma - Roma. I know that Roma played crazy matches lately with high scores but does it mean that over has to be priced around 1.50? Head to head between them says that in last 6 matches there have been only 2 over 2.5. I see not many missing players in gazzetta. I simply don't understand this odds.
I bet on overs/ unders market quite a lot and I don't usually look into the past meetings between the sides, unless they are managed by the same coach for more than two seasons, which in this case either are.. Roma play a very attack minded style under Zeman, who is starting this new trend in Italy of trying to out-score the opposition. I think that this game should have a few goals in it, Parma have surprised me so far this season and Roma have been second to none in terms of entertainment in their games. However at current odds around 1.50 ish its never a safe bet. Wait till around the 15th minute and bet in play on this market if you are looking for better value as odds should rise to around 1.80 and above, if there is no early goal that is.. GL

Re: Serie A > Oct 30 - Nov 1 I think that Internazionale, Lazio & Juve could be a nice realistic treble tonight. Having watched Napoli in the last few games, they seem over-reliant on Cavani and Hamsik to get the goals. People here have said Cavani is not ready to play yet, which leaves only 1 world class player in a well organized team, not so much away from home though. Napoli missed so many sitters against Chievo who are IMO one of the weakest sides in the league this season. The likes of Insigne & Vargas are so naive and greedy when in front of goal, and Pandev is well.. Pandev. All three are talented and can hit the back of the net but I am not so sure when Nap play without Cavani. I have already given my preview on the Lazio game, so Juve should have little problem at home to an average Bologna, especially given the size of the squad and talent that Conte can pick from (as long as he doesn't pair up Bendtner & Quag) for this one :) Inter have finally hit the ground this season under Stramaccioni and have good momentum currently. Cassano, Milito and Palacio are all well capable of netting as well as the multi dimensional 5 in the midfield, there is plenty of creativity in this side to carve Samp open at the San Siro. Inter should win comfortably. So those three would make a nice treble IMO

If you watched Serie-A for a long time, you would understand how impactful Znedek Zeman was as an ultra-attacking maestro. EVERY team he managed, despite of the skill competency, were able to score A LOT. Liverpool should hire this guy to unlock Suarez' ability IMO.

Re: Serie A > Oct 30 - Nov 1 Hi All, I was gonna hold off on the Juventus v Bologna game. I don't really like 2/9 for the home win. Bologna are struggling to score goals, being blanked out 4 in 5 away games this season. I don't think they will score tonight. That makes the over 2.5 (at 7/10) difficult because Juventus will need 3 goals to win it (tough). You can get 8/13 on bet365 either team not to score bet which looks decent. Juventus have won 3 out of 4 games 2-0. I'm gonna stick this 2-0 at (9/2) in a gamble bet. Newcastle to beat Liverpool, Juventus win 2-0 and Sunderland and Villa to draw gives odds of 130-1 which is a nice price. I was also gonna take an in match bet at the half. Looking at it again http://www.soccer-betbrain.com/win-from-infront for seasons 2012,2011,2010 Juventus are not a great front running team. They have surrendered a lead 6 times in 19 games when leading at half time. This makes taking the in play bet (if they get 1-0 ) very dangerous. Compare these stats to Inter who have won 15 of 15 when leading at the half in the same period. So for me its the 130 - 1 gamble bet :) Neil.

Re: Serie A > Oct 30 - Nov 1 juventus team: Buffon, Caceres, Barzagli, Bonucci, De Ceglie, Pirlo, Giaccherini, Pogba, Isla, Bentdner, Quagliarella Conte is focused on saturday match against Inter, with this squad I think match will be harder then general think Napoli without Cavani and Zuniga, Inter with Cassano, Palacio and Milito upfront I think Napoli match is really hard, Atalanta is a good team at home I take Roma (0) @1.93 4 pts from Sbobet I think Zeman team will play offensive as usually but Parma attack is not like Udinese and counteatttack with Amauti is not the same as Di Natale Here in Italy is raining all the matches will be under the rain
